On the way back, Zhongnan caught another pheasant, and today's mission was complete.
"Nan Nan, you can't tell anyone what happened today," Xin Nan suddenly said.
Yan Xiaonan found it strange. Just now, he said that Bei Nan should pay, but now he's not saying that anymore.
"Nan Nan, promise your second brother that you must never let anyone know about this skill of yours, not even the east, west, north, or south."
Seeing the serious face of the Southwest, Yan Xiaonan nodded quickly, feeling very moved, as her special ability had brought hope to her family.
Meanwhile, the mother and parents at home, Southeast and Southwest, were thinking about how to protect themselves, and all their sacrifices were worthwhile.
"Second Brother, why don't you change your pants first?" Yan Xiaonan pointed to the pants he had just washed in the hot spring.
Looking at the wet pants in his hand, Southwest blushed; he felt so embarrassed.
Yan Xiaonan recalled how Mingming in the Southwest was terrified, yet he still used a tree branch to fight the tiger.
That was a fully grown Siberian tiger! Southwest actually stepped forward to protect itself; it really cherishes itself too much.
Bei Nan waited at the door of his house. When he saw the two men and the wolf return, he snorted angrily, turned around and went into the main room. He was upset that Xinan hadn't brought him along.
Southwest thought to herself, "Thank goodness I didn't bring you along, or you'd be scared to death." She handed the pheasant in her hand to Xuemei and said, "Sister-in-law, you can cook this for Southeast."
Xuemei took the pheasant and hurriedly went to the yard to kill and pluck it. Half of the pheasant was used to make soup, and the other half was braised.
The whole family enjoyed a sumptuous dinner to celebrate graduating from Southeast University and getting a formal job.
Summer nights in Northeast China are also cool, and the grapevines planted in autumn have already sprouted tender green shoots.
Seats were placed under the grape trellis, which Yan Xiaonan had specially asked Yan Xiaoqiang to set up to create an atmosphere, and now they were benefiting Dongnan and Xuemei.
The two poured out their hearts to each other under the flowers and moon, repeatedly giving each other words of advice. They had a thousand and one things they were reluctant to part with, all of which were reflected in their eyes. The night before their separation was the most heartbreaking.
Tonight will be their first night together, the day of their wedding, a time of great joy and celebration.
Cuihua had already boiled water and filled a thermos, placing it in the new house in the backyard. She also secretly slipped Xuemei a cushion and a booklet.
Xuemei, holding the pad, looked at Cuihua blankly and said, "Mom, why are you giving me Nannan's diaper pad?"
Cuihua sighed. "Xuemei, you're going to sleep in the same bed with Dongnan tonight. Don't make the bed dirty."
Xuemei was even more confused: "Mom, we didn't farm, so how could the bed be dirty?"
Cuihua was embarrassed. Tonight was supposed to be for planting, but Xuemei wasn't her own daughter, so she couldn't bring herself to say it.
A quick thought: let your man talk to Southeast. After all, they're father and son, so it'll be easier to talk to him.
So, Yan Xiaoqiang went to Dongnan with the task in mind: "Dongnan, are you going to do the work tonight?"
Southeast asked, bewildered, "Dad, what chores are there to do tonight? Just tell me, and I'll do them."
Yan Xiaoqiang~
"Go to sleep early, I'm leaving." Yan Xiaoqiang hurriedly ran to his room. What kind of mission is this? He can't complete it.
Cuihua rolled her eyes at him. What should she do?
Yan Xiaoqiang laughed and hugged Cuihua tightly. What to do? Does this even need to be taught?
Dongnan and Xuemei finally entered their new room. The door was gently closed, and Dongnan sat down on the kang (a heated brick bed).
Xuemei also went over, but one sat at the head of the kang and the other at the foot, making it seem as if they had just had a fight.
Southeast didn't want to wait any longer, so she took off her clothes, lay down on the kang (a heated brick bed), and said, "Xuemei, aren't you coming to sleep?"
Xuemei shifted her hips awkwardly, but Dongnan pulled her up. Xuemei pointed to the light bulb and said, "Turn it off."
Southeast rustled around for a long time but couldn't find the way. He was so anxious that he broke out in a sweat. He got off the kang (a heated brick bed) and turned on the light: "Damn it, I'm going to find out which way to go today."
Xuemei covered her head with a thin blanket, feeling too embarrassed. Dongnan checked the book that Cuihua had given Xuemei, examining it page by page.
The more I examine the book, the more I admire the author. The writing isn't great, but the illustrations are excellent. If I hadn't been comparing it with the illustrations, I probably wouldn't have understood it.
After finally finishing comparing all the parts of the book, the two of them started to follow the instructions. They stumbled along the way and finally managed to finish, only to realize what Cuihua meant by giving them a cushion.
Southeast took out an enamel basin, went outside to fill it with water, picked up a thermos, added some hot water, quickly washed himself, and finally fell soundly asleep.
As dawn broke, Cuihua got up early and busied herself cooking breakfast. Dongnan was going to report for duty today, so she cooked a lot of dry food to keep him full.
Xuemei woke up late today as expected, and judging from her expression, Dongnan had bullied her again this morning.
Yan Xiaonan glanced at Xue Mei and thought, "Goodness, women really are different from girls. The two little braids that were originally tied up are gone, and her hair is all piled up on her head."
Unfortunately, her hair was completely black, without even a single flower in it, which went against the festive spirit of a new bride.
Yan Xiaonan began to miss the various headdresses she had in modern times. If she were to put her hair up, she would definitely decorate it with ribbons and embellish it with hair clips.
Bei Nan's voice came over: "Sister-in-law, are you not feeling well today? Your face is so red, and you're out eating so late."
Xuemei couldn't hold her rice bowl anymore: "I'll eat later."
I put down my rice bowl and went back inside, feeling incredibly embarrassed.
Yan Xiaoqiang picked up his chopsticks and slapped Bei Nan's arm: "Even eating can't shut you up. If you fail the exam again this year, I'll make you eat Kang Cai Dumplings."
Southeast brushed her teeth, washed her face, and left this year: "North South, if I find out you don't do your laundry again, I'll come back and beat you up."
Bei Nan is always playing around, so his clothes get dirty very easily. When Cui Hua is busy, Xue Mei washes them.
Now that Xuemei is her real wife, how can she help her brother-in-law wash clothes? Even though he is still young, one shouldn't let things become a habit.
Bei Nan felt very wronged. All she did today was ask a question, so why was everyone targeting her?
Grandma Yan looked at Bei Nan: "Bei Nan, do you know why they all want to beat you up?"
Bei Nan lowered her head and thought for a moment: "Grandma, I've been too nosy. Besides, I'm all grown up now, and I should do things for myself."
Grandma Yan smiled: "Bei Nan is smart, but unfortunately he doesn't use his intelligence for studying. Your father is right, if you fail the midterm exam again, you'll have to eat Kang Cai Dumplings by yourself."
Southwest rolled her eyes at North South: "North South, you should really focus on your studies. You can't even do the questions that South South can do. How embarrassing!"
Bei Nan's job was also in jeopardy, which was a source of eternal pain for him. He had spent half an hour trying to solve a word problem, but Nan Nan had written out three steps in a minute.
Where did this monster come from? He's always overpowering me! It's outrageous!
