Southwest took a deep breath: "Mom, I'll listen to you. Sister-in-law, thank you for your hard work. I'll take Duoduo with me when she has her summer vacation."
Xuemei nodded repeatedly. When did this Southwest become so stubborn?
"Five and a half pounds, Dad will give you time. Come over after you finish this exam. You can't keep bothering Grandpa and Grandma."
Wu Jinban shook his head again: "Dad, I've made up my mind too. I'll come over after I graduate from elementary school. I also want to spend the summer vacation with my great-grandmother. My grandparents and aunt all have to work, and my great-grandmother is very lonely."
Everyone's hearts tightened. Yes, ever since Grandma Yan's 80th birthday, she had rarely gone to the clothing store, and Grandma Wang was thinking about it every day.
Yan Xiaonan quickly grabbed Grandma Yan's arm: "Grandma, why don't you come to work with me? You can make decisions for me if anything happens."
Grandma Yan smiled so broadly her eyes disappeared: "My dear, I won't run around with you, it's too tiring. I want to take good care of my health and live to be a hundred years old."
After saying that, she gestured towards her room with her mouth. Yan Xiaonan understood; the ginseng aroma emanating from that ancient ginseng was nourishing her breasts.
No wonder Grandma always liked to stay in the house and not come out. That house was filled with the smell of ginseng, which really could refresh and invigorate her.
"Five and a half catties, could it be that you also like Great-Grandma's room?" Yan Xiaonan asked.
Wu Jinban shook his head: "Auntie, there's a medicinal smell in Great-Grandma's room, I don't like it, so I stay in my own room. But if Great-Grandma needs water or snacks, I'll bring them in."
Yan Xiaonan breathed a sigh of relief; such a young child couldn't withstand the medicinal power of a thousand-year-old ginseng.
"Second brother, look how good it is to have five and a half catties at home. I'm always worried about Grandma being home alone. With five and a half catties here, she can contact us if anything happens."
Southwest wavered: "At only five and a half pounds, can she take care of the milk?"
Cuihua rolled her eyes at Xinan, thinking, "The older you get, the dumber you become."
“There’s a phone at home. If anything happens, Wu Jin Ban will call me. I’ll come back every day at noon to cook for your grandma, and I’ll come back early in the evening too.”
"Oh, I see. Well then, Wu Jin and a half, you'll stay here obediently and keep Great-Grandma company. If anything happens, be sure to call an adult, okay?" Southwest finally stopped insisting.
Liu Jin, Fu Bao, and Duo Duo, who were hiding in the side room, finally felt relieved. For the first time, Duo Duo was filled with admiration for Wu Jin.
"Duoduo, do you want to come home with Daddy tonight and see if there are any nice kindergartens?" Southwest, with her sharp eyes, noticed a few children secretly closing the door.
Duoduo quickly turned around and opened the door: "Daddy, I want to go to the pretty kindergarten."
“Okay, the kindergarten will open when my Duoduo is old enough to wear a vest and go out.” Southwest picked up Duoduo in her arms.
"Grandma, Mom and Dad, sister-in-law, Nan Nan, I'll take Duo Duo back to visit today. Sister-in-law, I'll take Duo Duo to kindergarten myself tomorrow. Thank you."
As everyone watched Southwest carry Duoduo away, they were a little worried. Would he be able to take care of the child?
Upon arriving at the furniture factory, Southwest pointed to the five-story building and said, "Duoduo, look, our home is in this building. We live on the third floor."
Duoduo was so happy! The building was so tall, and he struggled to get down; he had to climb the stairs.
After finally climbing to the third floor, Duoduo opened the door and was dumbfounded: "Dad, is this our home?"
There was a moment of awkwardness in the southwest; I wonder if Duoduo also disliked the small size of this place.
"Yes, this is our home. Dad will show you your and your brother's room. Look, this bed, you sleep on the bottom, and your brother sleeps on the top."
Duoduo was fascinated by the bunk bed in the room. She quickly took off her shoes, climbed up, and lay on the lower bunk, tossing and turning.
Southwest smiled, saying that she was glad he liked it. Thinking that she would boil some water that evening, she went to the kitchen.
After flipping through the pages for a while, Duoduo got bored. He looked at the upper bunk and wanted to go up and sleep in his brother's bed.
He climbed the stairs using both his hands and feet, finally reaching the top, but he was too small, only three years old, how could he possibly climb up?
With a thud, Duoduo fell hard, his head hitting the ground, and he cried loudly in pain.
Southwest was boiling water in the kitchen when she heard the noise and rushed in, only to find Duoduo lying on the floor crying loudly.
He quickly picked up Duoduo, wondering where the child had hurt herself, but as soon as he held her, Duoduo screamed.
Tang Jianjun, who was lying down next door, was startled awake by Duoduo's crying. The elderly couple quickly put on their clothes and ran over.
Tang's mother, with her experience, said: "In the southwest, Duoduo's hand may be broken. Take her to the hospital."
Yan Xinan could hardly believe his ears, but he reacted quickly by picking up the child and running to the hospital.
Tang Jianjun asked his mother to help watch the house or cook something, as the children might be hungry when they came back.
Tang's mother nodded, only then realizing that water was boiling on the coal stove. This woman from the southwest, how could she possibly take care of a child?
When Tang Jianjun arrived, Duoduo had already been taken inside by the doctor. After a thorough examination, the doctor came out with a stern face.
"Who are the child's parents!" Southwest immediately stood up.
"Doctor, how is my child?"
"How is it? How did you take care of the child? Did the child fall from a height? He has a mild concussion and a broken left hand."
Southwest's face turned pale. Today was the first day she brought her child home, and she ended up hurting the child.
"Doctor, will my child's hand get better? And will the concussion affect my child's intelligence in the future?"
"It's too late now, you'll be kept in the hospital for observation tonight. We'll see how things go tomorrow. Here's the payment slip." The doctor rolled his eyes at Southwest and left.
"Southwest, you wait here, I'll go pay," Tang Jianjun said, taking the bill.
Southwest snatched the bill: "Master, I'm going to pay. You keep an eye on Duoduo for me."
Southwest was scared. He now realized that he had been too arrogant and conceited. He couldn't even take care of one child properly, let alone two.
Tang Jianjun didn't expect that Southwest was afraid; he thought Southwest was just reluctant to let him spend money.
Duoduo lay in the hospital bed, still moaning in pain. When she saw Tang Jianjun, her eyes welled up with tears, and she wanted a hug.
Tang Jianjun was about to hug the child when the nurse stopped him: "Sir, the child has a mild concussion. Let him rest well, and don't move his hands around."
Tang Jianjun felt heartbroken. What a tragedy, such a young child: "Duoduo, be good. Grandpa will stay with you. Get some sleep, and you'll feel better tomorrow."
Duo Duo obediently closed his eyes; he really did want to sleep. Southwest paid the bill and came over. Seeing that Duo Duo was asleep, he finally breathed a sigh of relief.
"Master, you should go back now. You have to go to work tomorrow," Southwest said.
Tang Jianjun rolled his eyes at him: "I'm not going back. You can go back if you want. If I hand the child over to you, do you still want Duoduo's right hand?"
