Chapter 564 Liu Lili

Liu Lili understood. His sister was Yan Xiaonan, whom she knew. She just didn't expect that the low-key Yan Xiaonan would have such a nice house.

I admire how a girl in her early twenties could build such a large business.

In the courtyard, Duoduo was taking a nap in the back room, while Grandma Yan and Mother Tang were chatting quietly.

“Sister-in-law Yan, how about I take Duoduo to my place? There’s a canteen there, and my husband can help take care of her.”

Grandma Yan nodded. She was already eighty years old, and it would be difficult for her to take care of a little kid on her own, especially since the little kid was injured.

"Then let's ask Southwest when he arrives," Grandma Yan thought.

As if on cue, a voice from the southwest called out from the doorway: "Grandma, Grandma, is Duoduo here?"

Grandma Yan rushed out: "Southwest is here. Duo Duo is sleeping, so please be quiet."

Grandma Yan glanced at Southwest, her eyes fixed on a little girl behind her, unsure of what Southwest meant.

"Hello Grandma Yan, my name is Liu Lili, and I am Yan Xinan's classmate." Liu Lili greeted Grandma Yan in a generous manner.

Grandma Yan looked at Liu Lili carefully for a few moments. This girl was very poised and confident, and most importantly, she had a clear gaze. She didn't look around at all after coming in.

She said she was a classmate from Southwest University. A female classmate came to the door; is Southwest University...?

Grandma Yan glanced at Southwest, who quickly shook his head. He understood Grandma Yan's gesture, indicating that he was not her boyfriend.

Grandma Yan also shook her head. Southwest really is a fool. The girl has already expressed herself so clearly, and he's still like a block of wood.

Tang's mother ran out when she heard the noise. When she saw the girl standing on the southwest side, who was obviously more generous, prettier and younger than her own daughter, she felt a little uncomfortable.

"Liu Lili, this is my teacher's wife, and also Duo Duo's maternal grandmother." Southwest quickly introduced them upon seeing Tang's mother.

"Madam, this is my college classmate, Liu Lili. She's here to see Duoduo today."

Tang's mother felt even more distressed. So he was a college student after all. Sigh, there was absolutely no hope left.

"Hello Grandma Tang, is Duoduo inside? Can I see him?" Liu Lili asked with a smile.

Mrs. Tang could only nod and watch the little girl walk inside with a bag of nutritional supplements.

Mrs. Tang glanced at the nylon bag again. Goodness, this girl is rich. The mesh bag contained malted milk powder, chocolate, and canned fruit—all high-end foods.

Liu Lili took out all the items one by one and placed them on the low cabinet beside the bed, carefully examining Duoduo.

The child looked like someone from Southwest China; he was incredibly handsome, and I couldn't help but reach out and touch his face.

Tang's mother looked at this action with mixed feelings. Whether the girl genuinely liked Duoduo or was just pretending to be kind, she had genuinely shown it.

Unlike Tang Xiaoling, who either ignores or berates Duoduo, she never gently caresses Duoduo like this.

"Southwest, I've seen the child. I hope he recovers soon. I'll head back now." Liu Lili came out.

Grandma Yan nudged Southwest: "Aren't you going to see him off? Why are you standing there like a block of wood?"

Mrs. Tang felt a little better. Back when Southwest was pursuing her daughter, he was very proactive. Unlike now, he's like an abacus, only moving when prompted.

Southwest suddenly realized that they had been given so many gifts, yet they left without even having a sip of tea. They had been so unreasonable.

"Well, why don't you stay for dinner? I'll go buy some groceries." Southwest said somewhat awkwardly.

Liu Lili nodded: "Okay, then I'll go grocery shopping with you."

Southwest

Grandma Yan smiled. This girl is straightforward and has a bit of a knack for it. She wondered if Southwest could handle her.

As Tang's mother watched the two of them push their bicycles out, she felt a pang of unease: "Sister-in-law Yan, it seems good things are coming to the Southwest."

Grandma Yan took out her pipe, slowly filled it with tobacco, and took a deep drag: "That's what I think too."

Tom~

Southwest watched Liu Lili picking and choosing at the vegetable market. Nowadays, many vegetables don't require coupons, but meat coupons are still needed.

Liu Lili took out several meat coupons from her bag, pointed to a piece of pork belly with alternating layers of fat and lean meat, and indicated that she wanted this piece.

Southwest quickly took out his money. Since the other person had a ticket, of course he had to pay. After all, Southwest didn't have a ticket.

Liu Lili smiled and didn't compete or fight. This attitude warmed the tense heart of the Southwest.

The atmosphere between the two became increasingly harmonious, with them discussing and negotiating. Liu Lili pointed to the counter in front of her:

"Southwest, there's fish today! I have a fish ticket that's about to expire, I need to use it."

"Okay, let's buy fish. It'll be a waste if they expire. Wow, these fish are really fat. I'll pay for them."

Southwest, who didn't want to buy fish, had his plans disrupted by the word "expired." With fish tickets so scarce, he couldn't afford to waste them, so he quickly selected the fish and paid.

The two of them carried various dishes into the courtyard with their four hands, and then went straight into the kitchen.

Five and a half cats came back carrying books. When they learned that Duo Duo had broken her hand last night, they were so frightened that they ran inside immediately.

Seeing Duo Duo's hand wrapped in thick bandages, Wu Jinban secretly rejoiced. Thank goodness he hadn't gone back with his father, or he would have broken his bones too.

Hearing the sounds coming from the kitchen, Wu Jin ran over, but when he saw a strange woman cooking with his father, his face immediately fell.

He went into the living room with his schoolbag on his back. He wanted to do his homework well, graduate as soon as possible, and grow up quickly.

As soon as Cuihua and Yan Xiaoqiang entered the courtyard, they smelled a delicious aroma. Cuihua found it strange, since Xuemei had gone home today. Could it be that Nannan was cooking?

He rushed to the kitchen, only to find a strange young girl cooking with Southwest. They seemed to be working together quite well.

Liu Lili recognized Cuihua as Nan Nan's mother and quickly put down her shovel, politely introducing herself.

When Yan Xiaoqiang heard that the girl was a classmate from Southwest University, his unease lessened considerably; so she was a college student after all.

Cuihua politely asked if she needed help, but Liu Lili declined, saying it was better not to hand over something that was already being done.

As soon as Duo Duo opened his eyes, he noticed a lot of food by his bedside, all of which were his favorite treats.

This special malted milk powder was something my great-grandmother would always make herself a cup of; it tasted so sweet and delicious.

When Tang's mother saw that Duoduo was awake, she quickly helped the little one urinate. Duoduo pointed at the food with his other movable finger and asked, "Grandma, did you buy this for me?"

Mrs. Tang shook her head: "An aunt bought it for you as a gift. You should go and thank her later, okay?"

Duo Duo nodded, but found it strange; who would give her something?

Yan Xiaonan and Ye Chen'er also returned. When Yan Xiaonan and the others learned that Duo Duo had broken her arm last night, they looked at Southwest in disbelief.
