Chapter Thirty-Three: Yan Xiaonan's Stolen

Early in the morning, Yan Xiaoqiang went to his third uncle's house again to borrow an oxcart. This time, Yan Xiaoqiang dared not let the ox into the courtyard again. He tied the ox outside, and then Dongnan carried a bag of grain onto the oxcart.

Yan Xiaonan was performing magic tricks in the house, sometimes making rice appear and sometimes making rice disappear, which scared Cuihua so much that she could only stand at the door and keep watch.

Actually, Yan Xiaonan wanted to test whether she could enter the space. She had read in novels that each space was like a world, so why couldn't it work for her?

I'm exhausted and sweating all over, but I still can't get into the space, and I don't even know where my space is. It's so unfair to a kid like me.

I guess I'm still too young. Oh well, I discovered I have a cheat code on my first birthday, so I'll look forward to my second birthday. Maybe I'll make some new discoveries then.

When I woke up from my nap, my older brother and dad hadn't come back yet. Judging by the time, it was about time. My mom and Xuemei were already busy in the kitchen, and my grandma was making a new coat for herself.

Watching Grandma sew stitch by stitch, I thought that next time I should get a sewing machine for Grandma and Mom. I'm still small now, so it's easy for me to sew. But when I grow up, it will be exhausting.

And Grandma wouldn't let me take the radio out, saying it was too conspicuous. Well, Grandma was right.

At dinner time, Southwest and North returned, having come up empty-handed. With so many children digging for wild vegetables and catching fish, there weren't enough resources for them to squander.

Southeast also came back and said that Dad went to return the oxcart. Grandpa and Grandma were so happy that they cried. They had been without food for two days and almost ate clay.

Cuihua burst into tears. Her mother-in-law was so kind; she had saved her parents. She would definitely take good care of her mother-in-law from now on.

As soon as Yan Xiaoqiang entered the house, he smelled the aroma of food. He and Dongnan had eaten four steamed buns that day. He had originally thought that he could have lunch at his father-in-law's house.

Little did they know that they had already run out of food. They quickly threw down the food and left, not wanting to eat another meal from them.

The round trip took a whole day, and the old ox was exhausted. Luckily, my mother was clever and took two pounds of cornmeal to give to my third uncle, otherwise we would never have been able to borrow an ox again.

Seeing the heartbroken look on Third Uncle's face, yet too embarrassed to scold him, his attitude of being beholden to those who have taken his money was truly too much to bear.

Yan Xiaoqiang couldn't help but laugh. His third uncle was quite adorable. The family enjoyed dinner together and went to bed early after washing up.

The night sky was starless tonight, the night wind rustled the leaves, and five figures appeared in the quiet night. Widow Zhang led a few old bachelors out in the dark.

They've already gotten their hands on a potent sleeping potion. The windows are all covered with paper now, so you can easily poke a hole in them. The sleeping potion is the most convenient way to get around it.

Since it was planting season, everyone was exhausted from a long day and was fast asleep. Looking at the old bachelor preparing to light some incense, Widow Zhang was in an extremely good mood.

After lighting the incense, he put it into a blowpipe and blew it forcefully into the main room. The smoke drifted out and into every room, making the snoring inside even louder. The old bachelor took out a wood-chopping knife, stuck it into the crack of the door, and started to pry open the bolt.

With a loud bang, the old bachelor and the others were so frightened that they quickly shrank to the ground. After a while, they started snoring again. They nodded a few times, gently pushed open the door, and sneaked into the kitchen.

The kitchen was spotless, but there was no cornmeal. Widow Zhang thought that most people would hide their good things in their rooms, so she pointed to Grandma Yan's room.

This is the main house, which should be where Old Lady Yan lives. She is the head of the family, and the grain should be stored in her room. Fortunately, her room is not closed; there is just a curtain.

They sneaked inside, and sure enough, there were four bags of cornmeal in the corner. The four men quickly picked up a bag each and left. Widow Zhang looked around the kang (a heated brick bed) and saw that the little girl wasn't there, so she must be sleeping in the same room as her mother.

They found Cuihua and Yan Xiaoqiang's room again, and sure enough, the little girl was sleeping at the innermost part. They quietly crawled over, picked up Yan Xiaonan, and ran out without even closing the door.

Yan Xiaonan was awakened when they opened the door. The sleeping incense had no effect on her. She immediately got up and tried to push her parents, but they seemed to be fast asleep.

Yan Xiaonan wasn't actually a one-year-old child, so she naturally knew these people were there to steal grain. She thought they would leave after stealing the grain, but she didn't expect someone to come and steal from her. Could it be that her special ability had been discovered?

She wanted to enter the space, but she couldn't at all. She could only let people carry her away. She was anxious, but she could only pretend to be asleep, otherwise she wouldn't even know how she died.

Who on earth dared to be so bold? I was really anxious when a man's voice spoke up: "Widow Zhang, how could you actually steal the child? Are you sick in the head?"

Widow Zhang said, "Old bachelor, you steal your grain, I'll steal my child, let's leave each other alone."

The old bachelor snorted and said, "Whatever," then picked up the grain and left. The other thugs, each receiving a hundred catties of grain, were overjoyed and had already slipped away.

Yan Xiaonan smiled bitterly to himself. So it was this widow Zhang. Last time, she was beaten to a pulp by his mother and Xuemei, and then her despicable deeds were exposed by Dongnan. Now, karma had come back to haunt him.

I have no idea what this woman is up to, or what I should do. I can't even access the space. Oh right, I have a cheat system, right? Let's see if I can use it.

The consciousness spread outwards, a cry for help, of course. It was very fast, basically spreading throughout the entire mountain. Luckily, the direction of Widow Zhang was the mountain, otherwise it wouldn't have been so fast.

The Siberian tiger is currently eating a roe deer in its den. It was lucky today and caught one; it looks like it will last for two or three days.

A familiar feeling wafted over; it turned out to be the reincarnation of the mountain god, who had come to the mortal realm to undergo tribulation. My goodness, how did this great deity come here? Could it be that she is here to save this land?

No, it was a distress signal. The Siberian tiger dropped the roe deer in its mouth and ran towards the source of the distress.

Not only the Siberian tiger received the signal, but all the animals in the mountains knew about it, and immediately, a jumble of footsteps echoed from the mountains.

Having reached the halfway point of the mountain, Widow Zhang sensed something was wrong. What was making such a racket? She looked up and was so frightened that her legs trembled, and she urinated, soaking her pants. A strong smell of urine wafted out.

In the distance, many green lights were moving; those were the eyes of wild beasts! Good heavens, how come there are so many wild beasts? After looking around, Widow Zhang put Nan Nan down in the woods and turned to run away.
