Side Story 5: The Younger Generation of the Yan Family (shuhaige.net)

Liu Jin was even more dumbfounded. Was this girl crazy? Did she think he wouldn't have to pay for the jade pendant she broke?

"Hey, miss, no, young lady, wait for me! I'm sorry, I didn't mean to break your jade pendant. I'll pay for it, or I can give you another jade pendant." Liu Jin chased after him.

The girl shook her head and said, "Never mind."

Seeing that the girl still wanted to leave, Liu Jin became anxious. He knew that some jade was very valuable, like Tianru and Yushu, as well as the sea-sky-blue jade that his aunt and uncle wore around their necks, which he heard was worth millions of US dollars.

"Girl, I really didn't mean it. Saying that makes me feel guilty, and that won't do. I have to make amends."

The girl turned around, looked at Liu Jin, and said, "This is the only memento my mother left me. How can you compensate me? Can you afford to pay for it?"

Seeing the girl's sudden outburst of anger, Liu Jin's heart trembled, and he stammered, "What should we do then?"

The girl sneered, "Can't afford to pay? Why don't you send your people to pay?"

"Ah, how do we compensate for the person?" Liu Jin took a step back.

"Either marry me or get out, you stinky man." The girl shoved Liu Jin, and Liu Jin touched the spot where the girl's hand had touched him, and a ripple of emotion stirred in his heart.

"I'm crazy, I must be crazy." Liu Jin turned around and ran downstairs, not even taking the elevator.

The girl rolled her eyes, took off the other half of the jade pendant, put the two pieces together, and held them in her hand. Her heart ached inexplicably. Could it be that she couldn't even keep the last souvenir?

Liu Jin walked on the soft sand, the seawater occasionally washing over his ankles. It was icy cold, but very comfortable. The sea breeze dried the sweat he had just shed from nervousness.

The image of that girl's cold yet lonely eyes kept flashing in my mind, and my heart ached involuntarily. I shook my head; she was just a girl I had met once, so why should I feel sorry for her?

Seeing that it was getting dark, Liu Jin returned to his room, took a shower, and then went to the dining room to order a bowl of spaghetti, which he ate slowly and deliberately.

A shadow flashed past the restaurant door. It was that girl. Was she also here for dinner? Liu Jin ate his spaghetti while stealing glances at the girl.

She ordered a bowl of spaghetti and ate it slowly. Perhaps she didn't have a good appetite, because she stopped after a few bites, wiped her mouth with a napkin, and got up to leave.

For the next few days, Liu Jin saw her almost every day, either in the elevator, in the restaurant, or on the beach.

Liu Jin always smiled at the girl, showing his perfect eight teeth, but the girl seemed to be blind or amnesiac, and wouldn't even glance at him.

Liu Jin, who was praised so highly by millions of fans, was devastated. He couldn't fall asleep no matter what he did, so he took his wallet and key card and went to a bar to drown his sorrows.

But he had only taken a few sips of beer when he saw the girl stagger past him, heading towards the bar entrance, with several men nearby giving him the eye.

Liu Jin couldn't hold back any longer. He threw down a few bills and walked over, saying, "It's just a few words, is it really necessary to make such a fuss?"

The men were stunned for a moment, glanced at Liu Jin, and then looked away when they saw the expensive watch on Liu Jin's wrist. So he was being kept by a rich man.

He helped the girl out of the bar and headed towards her room. Liu Jin was bewildered; he didn't know which room she was staying in, but he did know the floor—it should be the same floor as his.

"Hey, which room are you staying in? I'll take you back."

"Hey, where's your room key? Let me see it."

"Hey, make a sound, are you really drunk?"

Liu Jin said countless things, but the girl seemed to be very drunk and could not even walk. She was almost limp in Liu Jin's arms.

Liu Jin gritted his teeth, took the person to his room, threw her on the bed, found two quilts and spread them on the floor, deciding to make do with sleeping on the floor.

There was a girl lying on the bed. Liu Jin really couldn't sleep. He tossed and turned, and finally fell asleep at dawn.

Liu Jin suddenly felt like he couldn't breathe, as if a thousand pounds were pressing down on him. He struggled to regain his senses and found a girl lying on his chest.

"ah"

Liu Jin screamed in fright and pushed the person away. What was going on?

The girl woke up from her own scream and movement. She was a little dazed at first, but her eyes gradually turned cold as she stared at Liu Jin and asked coldly, "Who are you? Why are you in my room?"

When Liu Jin saw the familiar face, he remembered what happened last night and said, "This is my room. You were drunk last night, so I brought you to my room. But you were clearly sleeping on the bed, so how did you end up sleeping on top of me?"

The girl glanced around the room, blushed, and threw back the covers to get up. Whether she pulled too hard or her shirt buttons weren't secure enough, the buttons popped off, revealing…

Liu Jin's gaze met his, and he blushed, turning his head away. The girl smiled upon seeing this, her mood improving: "What I said stands. If you want to compensate me, marry me."

Liu Jin was also annoyed. How could someone from the Yan family become a live-in son-in-law? If anyone should marry, it should be you marrying me.

The woman paused for a moment, then said, "Okay, I'll marry you."

Liu Jin: "..."

Liu Jin is getting married, and the Yan family is spreading the news. Tian Ru looked up at the sky in disbelief. She had just gone out to rest for two weeks. Why is she getting married? Who is the bride?
