Chapter 374 Departure (2/2)

He went back and enrolled his child in night school. Before the child started school, he had to know more than the child.

"I'll report it when I get back."

Lu Heng readily accepted Qiao Wanyue's idea. He didn't really understand why people needed to study. So many illiterate people were doing just fine, but Qiao Wanyue was a top scholar and her mind was full of brilliant ideas. She said that studying must have its benefits.

She was right about one thing: he can't work as a driver his whole life.

What if?

Upon arriving at the station, Qiao Wanyue refused to let Lu Rong and Lu Heng get off the train.

It's quite cold outside.

Lu Yunqi took care of most of the luggage, Lu's sister-in-law and Lu Xingxing carried the children's things, and Qiao Wanyue traveled light, with most of the things in her space. She only carried a small bag containing some food.

Many people were lying in the waiting hall, sprawled out here and there, wrapped in a quilt or a thick coat. Some were even lying directly on the ground, curled up in a ball.

Lu Yunqi handed the tickets to the ticket seller, and after the tickets were checked, the group went inside in a large entourage.

The bus departs at 6:30.

There's still half an hour before I leave the car.

Arrive at the station 20 minutes early.

The group found a spot to stand in the waiting area. Panpan and Lu Hui were incredibly energetic. It was the first time the two little ones had traveled so far, and even though they had gotten up early, their eyes were still shining as they looked at the people around them.

"Sister-in-law, Xingxing, don't let go of the child's hand on the train, hold it tightly." Qiao Wanyue instructed worriedly. There have been many human traffickers in the past two years, and it is easy for accidents to happen on crowded trains.

Sister-in-law Lu was well-prepared. She revealed what she had prepared in advance: a hemp rope, one end tied to Lu Hui and the other end tied to herself. The rope was four or five meters long, and she had tied a tight knot at Lu Hui's end, so no one but her could untie it.

Lu Xingxing was unprepared; how could four adults not keep an eye on two children?

However, she still had a hunch.

Soon after, the staff began announcing that the train had arrived.

Lu Yunqi and Qiao Wanyue carried their luggage, while Lu's sister-in-law and Lu Xingxing held the child's hand. The four of them were squeezed into the crowd and could not see each other. They could only move forward with the dense crowd.

Lu Xingxing was holding her child's hand when she heard Panpan call for her mother. Looking down, she saw a kind-looking woman holding Panpan's other hand and leading the child in another direction.

Her mind went blank for a moment. Her second sister-in-law had told her that human traffickers could disguise themselves in all sorts of ways, and no matter what she saw, she had to trust her instincts and be better off killing the innocent than letting the guilty go free.

She kicked the woman to the ground, reached out and hugged Panpan tightly, shouting loudly, "Police officer, police officer, someone is snatching a child, stealing things, someone is snatching a child!"

Lu Xingxing's voice was so loud that the crowd immediately stopped moving.

The people around Lu Xingxing instinctively shielded her behind them. People naturally feel sympathy for women and children, especially women raising children alone. One older woman protected Lu Xingxing, asking, "Who are you?"

The woman smiled awkwardly, "I mistook you for someone else. I thought you were my own child."

Perhaps to verify her words, a man walked over with a child who was about the same age as Panpan. "It's a misunderstanding, a misunderstanding. There were too many people just now, and we got separated from the child's mother."

He smiled ingratiatingly and helped the woman to her feet.

The older sister said, "It's all a misunderstanding. Don't take other people's children without permission. It's not easy for women to travel with children, so it's normal to be a little cautious."

Lu Xingxing looked at the woman and the girl in her husband's arms. If it was really a misunderstanding and she was kicked by her, she would definitely be furious. If the man came over and saw his wife being beaten, he would definitely protect her.

Instead of trying to smooth things over.
