Chapter 65 Going to Yang Dazhuang's House (1/2)

Lu Rong's tone was full of sorrow.

She looked at Sister-in-law Lu and asked, "Aren't you curious why I don't get a divorce?"

Sister-in-law Lu shook her head, "Mom, you're not getting a divorce for my and my eldest son's sake. If you do, the villagers will say, 'At your age, you're still keeping up with the times,' and they'll gossip about me and my eldest son behind our backs."

Furthermore, my second brother was unmarried before, and his parents-in-law's divorce is also bad for his reputation.

Older generations of parents rarely get divorced.

Take her parents for example. Her father beat her mother his whole life. Her mother was a coward. Even when she was beaten until her head was bleeding, she still remembered to cook for her father.

It's too difficult to get them to divorce.

Lu Rong shook her head. She was already this old; she didn't care what others said anymore.

As she looked at the doorway, the scene of her parents' death flashed through her mind.

Before her father died, he held her hand and said, "Rongrong, I know you married Yang Lin for my sake. Yang Lin is not good enough for my Rongrong. You have children now. When the children grow up, you can get a divorce if you want."

Yang Lin started causing trouble while her parents were still alive.

She forced a smile and said bitterly, "At first, I struggled to support my three children, for your reputation, and so that they could have a complete family. But after you all got married, I stopped caring."

"Whether we divorce or not doesn't matter anymore, eldest daughter-in-law, Wanyue." She turned to look at her two daughters-in-law, "From now on, you don't need to worry about me. Treat your father-in-law as you would like to be."

How could she get a divorce?

After her divorce, Yang Lin became dependent on his eldest and second sons' families. He would empty his family's savings to subsidize the Yang family. Under the pressure of filial piety, Yang Lin became even more unrestrained and harmed his children.

She absolutely would not allow that to happen.

She wanted Yang Lin to die with her.

A ruthless glint flashed in Lu Rong's eyes.

Qiao Wanyue nodded. She had no feelings for Yang Lin, but she would not hesitate to take action if he touched her interests.

Moreover, he has a close relationship with the Yang family.

She certainly wouldn't hold back.

Sister-in-law Lu pondered for a long time before nodding.

As night fell, the moon peeked out, its light shining on the farmhouse courtyard. In front of the mother-in-law and daughter-in-law were roasted peanuts and melon seeds. They peeled the peanuts, picked off the skins, and popped them into their mouths.

A gentle breeze caressed my face.

Lu Hui rolled around in the yard, the little guy completely unaware of what dirt was. His sister-in-law didn't stop him, watching the little guy laugh and play happily in the yard.

Until, covered in dust, he rushed into Sister-in-law Lu's arms.

"Lu Hui!"

The little guy was very perceptive; he darted away in a flash, then tried to run back to his grandma's arms.

Lu Rong stood up quickly. "Xiao Hui, Grandma just remembered there's something I haven't done yet."

He looked longingly at his second aunt and stretched out his two little arms.

Qiao Wanyue looked at his soft, whiny eyes, but in the moonlight she could see the dust on his body.

"Xiao Hui, your second aunt also has something to do."

“Mom.” Lu Hui looked at his mother with pleading eyes.

Sister-in-law Lu turned around and rushed into the house.

"Daddy!" The little guy ran to his father's side.

Old Master Lu was both amused and exasperated. If he refused his son again, wouldn't the little guy cry?

He pulled his son out of his arms with both hands, "Come on, let's take a bath."
