Chapter 65 Going to Yang Dazhuang's House (2/2)

Before he even entered the room, Sister-in-law Lu threw their clothes out, saying, "Don't get into bed if they're not clean."

Boss Lu: ...What did he do to deserve this?!

"Wanyue, Mom is going to Aunt Xinghua's house next door. Are you coming?" Lu Rong knocked on Qiao Wanyue's door.

Qiao Wanyue was in the house thinking of a reason to go and deliver some spiritual spring water to Grandma Yang Dazhuang so that the old lady could live a few more days.

Lu Rong's words made her eyes light up.

She took some fruit from her spatial storage, all of which had been washed with spiritual spring water. She took a few apples and pears, which were common fruits in the market. Although they had been sitting for a while, their skins were a bit wrinkled and they weren't as fresh and juicy as they were at the beginning.

But it was precisely because of this that Qiao Wanyue dared to take it out.

"Mom, I still have some fruit in my room. Let's give it to Aunt Xinghua next door." She handed the cloth bag to Lu Rong, who was also carrying a bag of red dates, which were a rare item in those days.

She looked at the fruit in Qiao Wanyue's hand, thought for a few seconds, then put the jujubes into Qiao Wanyue's room, took her cloth bag, and led Qiao Wanyue to Yang Dazhuang's house.

They arrived quite late, and by then some people had already made a ruckus in the bridal chamber and were gradually leaving.

Qiao Wanyue and Lu Rong entered Yang Dazhuang's house. The guests' expressions were not good. Xinghua was squatting in the yard peeling corn, Yang Dazhuang was leaning at the door saying something, and Yang Dazhuang's grandmother was sighing in the main room.

"Rong, you've come." Yang Dazhuang's grandmother revealed a smile that was more like a grimace.

Looking at the expressions of the people around him, Lu Rong's heart sank.

She handed the fruit to the old lady. "Aunt Man, are you making a scene again?" She gestured with her lips, pointing towards the new house.

Aunt Man nodded and sighed, "Everyone came to make a ruckus in the bridal chamber, but she didn't want to, so Dazhuang chased them away. But they were all guests and meant no harm; they were just playing and laughing in the courtyard."

She was throwing things around the house, and now she wouldn't even let Dazhuang in.

Lu Rong seized the opportunity to sit down. "Auntie, now that she's married into the family, she won't..."

Aunt Man smiled bitterly, "She doesn't like Dazhuang. I tried to persuade her with all my heart, but Dazhuang wouldn't listen. He insisted on marrying her. When it came time to welcome his new bride, he made all sorts of excuses and refused to meet the parents after she entered the house."

She's throwing a tantrum, and now she's even making excuses not to go to the bridal chamber. Tell me, what kind of wife acts like this?

She didn't care about any family scandals anymore; she felt uneasy if she didn't speak out.

Her husband and son died young, and her daughter-in-law was driven to madness by the shock. Fortunately, she was mostly lucid and had a good heart. But her grandson was stubborn and might die suddenly.

What will happen to this family?

Suddenly, a white and tender pear appeared in front of me.

She looked up and saw Yunzhou's wife standing in front of her, holding a pear. "Grandma Man, I heard from my mother-in-law that you haven't eaten much all day. No matter what, your health is the most important thing. If you die..." She gestured to the neighbor next door, her silence speaking volumes.

Aunt Man wasn't hungry at first, but Qiao Wanyue reminded her that if she got angry to death, Yang Dazhuang was a simpleton and Xinghua was kind-hearted. These two, mother and son, were no match for the new bride.

She picked up the pear, took a big bite, and the juice burst out. The sweet juice went down her throat. After a busy day without water, her parched throat was instantly moistened, and her whole body felt refreshed.

She ate one, but it wasn't enough, so she handed me another. Only when the second one had a clean pit left did she smile sheepishly and say, "Yunzhou's wife, please excuse me." She was just too hungry.

Qiao Wanyue smiled and said, "It's alright, your health is the most important thing."

The old man felt full of energy.

Looking at the room full of guests, she stood up and deliberately raised her voice, "Everyone, please leave now. Our new bride is not feeling well and is afraid of strangers. I will take her to visit them later when she is more comfortable."

She escorted the guests to the courtyard.

Everyone understands perfectly well what it means to be afraid of strangers and not want to see people; it simply means they dislike Dazhuang.

The crowd murmured amongst themselves as they left the house, their impression of the new bride plummeting to rock bottom.

If she dares to cause such trouble on her very first day in the family, she'll probably continue to torment her family like this in the future.

This is because Aunt Man has a good nature; any one of them would have made the new bride understand why the flowers are so red.

The houses in the countryside weren't soundproof, and the whispers of the crowd reached Zhou Wenwen's ears.

She was so angry in the new house that she stomped her feet.
