Secretary Guo understood these people's thoughts perfectly well; he had dealt with them for half his life.
“Those who are unsure can go home first and come back in the afternoon.” He gave those people face.
The large crowd at the entrance dwindled to just a few scattered individuals in an instant.
Secretary Guo looked at the little girl and said, "Miaomiao, you are a good child. You feel sorry for those aunties and uncles who don't have enough to eat, but you should know that the village has always provided subsidies for poor families who don't have enough to eat. Besides, how could you not have enough to eat every day when you go to work?"
“It’s good that you’re soft-hearted, but if city people with sensitive stomachs eat these moldy, worm-infested foods, do you think the ones who will suffer in the end will be those older women, or your father and me?”
Yang Miaomiao's face turned pale.
"Uncle, I understand. I won't be soft-hearted." She nodded heavily, as if encouraging herself.
Secretary Guo smiled, his eyes crinkling. "I believe you."
While Secretary Guo was teaching Yang Miaomiao, Qiao Wanyue tied several bundles of dried vegetables with dry grass, including mushrooms, dried green beans, and dried lettuce. They were all long, thick, and sturdy. She handed the bundles to Yang Miaomiao.
"Miaomiao, hang these at the entrance of the team's office. No need for further explanation. Let those that don't meet the standards go home. If they keep pestering you, just call the team's security team to take them away," Qiao Wanyue said directly.
Yang Miaomiao blinked. "Is it okay?"
She was afraid of hurting the harmony.
Qiao Wanyue laughed and poked her head, "Silly girl, they're not afraid of making things difficult for you, why are you afraid of hurting the harmony?"
Yang Miaomiao was the youngest son of the brigade leader. After entering high school, she also got a job at a brick factory, but the work was too tiring. On her first day, the young girl was covered in dust and dirt, which made the brigade leader's wife feel sorry for her.
It just so happened that the team was recruiting a recorder, so they let her take the exam.
She has been working in the village ever since.
Yang Miaomiao understood and nodded. "I understand. Next time, no amount of sweet talk will work." The little girl raised her head and pretended to be fierce.
She has a soft, delicate appearance and fair skin. When she raises her head, she looks like a soft, cuddly rabbit, without any intimidating presence.
But the three of them were still amused by her.
"Miaomiao, hang the things up." The team leader's wife nudged her daughter.
"Wanyue, thank you," the captain's wife said sincerely.
Qiao Wanyue shook her head, "Auntie, how much have you received?"
"It weighs about fifty pounds. It was delivered by Li Mei and Grandma Gou Dan. They delivered it early this morning. You can tell they spent a long time choosing it. It all meets our standards."
Qiao Wanyue remembered that Li Mei was a widow in the village who had been driven out by her husband's family and lived alone with her child in a thatched hut arranged by the village.
Gou Dan is the child that Boss Yang saved, and now it's time for him to get married.
Qiao Wanyue went over to take a look. They were all thick and long, each one clean and shiny. This contrasted sharply with the moldy residue on the ground that hadn't been swept away.
Yang Miaomiao hung the items at the entrance of the team's office and explained to everyone that these were the standards. If anyone did not meet them, they should go back first, as they would collect more items in the future.
afternoon
Qiao Wanyue stayed at the team headquarters to help out. She and Yang Miaomiao became quality inspectors, and more and more products met the standards. Perhaps due to the samples and the threat from Secretary Guo, a very small number of people were able to pass off inferior products as superior ones.
