Su Chenhao and Qiao Xiaoni were in charge of collecting money and comforting customers, their steps never stopping.
People who had never eaten fried dough sticks before came to join in the fun after hearing that tofu pudding and pickled vegetables were free.
Seeing so many people coming to eat fried dough sticks, Tao Chunfang couldn't even calculate how much money she could earn that day. Her hands were constantly busy, and a smile never left her face. Good days had finally arrived for her family.
Breakfast was a quick affair; after more than an hour of work, the tofu pudding was sold out, leaving only some soup base, and about ten fried dough sticks were left.
Qiao Xiaoni found a bag, packed it up, and waved for Qiao Xiaoshan to come over.
"Brother, give these fried dough sticks to Old Chen, but don't ask him for money. Tell him that if he pays you, I won't accept anything else he gives us in the future. We're going to cooperate long-term and help each other out, so why should we keep taking advantage of him?"
Qiao Xiaoshan took the paper bag. "I promise to complete the task and I won't take a single penny from him."
Qiao Xiaoni saw that there was still some soup left in the pot, so she picked out the largest bowl, ladled all the soup into it, and handed it over.
"Take this soup with him as well, and return the bowl when he comes to deliver the goods tomorrow."
We can't keep taking advantage of Lao Chen. The things we make at home don't cost much, so giving some away is just a token gesture.
Qiao Xiaoshan nodded, took the large bowl, and turned to go to the market.
Tao Chunfang sat down on a bench, exhausted. "Doing business is really not easy, it's so tiring!"
Qiao Xiaoni opened the pot lid and poked the meat inside with chopsticks. It was already very tender. She would take out a piece, slice it, and put two slices in a bowl when she needed it. The cost wouldn't be too high.
Tao Chunfang discovered that her sister-in-law's physical strength was truly astonishing. While they were doing the same work, her sister-in-law seemed rather weak, needing to lean against the wall to stand up.
"What's the next task?"
"Sister-in-law, you and my brother wash the dishes. I'll knead a bowl of dough and let it rest. Once we're done, it'll be time for the next shift."
"Hmm!" Tao Chunfang responded, saw Qiao Dashan sitting at the door fanning himself, walked over to him, called him up, then found a large basin and squatted down together to wash the dishes.
"Dashan, I never imagined breakfast business would be so good. I've really learned something new today." Tao Chunfang put the washed dishes into another large basin.
"Isn't that right? I'd only ever heard Xiaoshan talk about it before, but today I've seen firsthand what it means to be in short supply. My sister's purse is overflowing; she must have earned at least ten yuan this morning."
"Wow! You made so much!" Tao Chunfang exclaimed in surprise, almost dropping her rice bowl. She quickly covered it with both hands and placed it in the basin beside her before speaking.
"You'd have to earn several hundred yuan a month!"
"Well, I feel like you can definitely earn 100 yuan, so you should learn the trade from your sister. Once she goes to college, this stall will be handed over to you."
Whether you can keep customers depends on your skills. We don't need a lot, just half the customers will be fine." Qiao Dashan chuckled twice after saying that. The money he earned this morning was equivalent to several days' worth of bricklaying. It was just a bit busy, and he still had a lot of energy left to use!
Qiao Xiaoni kneaded a large bowl of dough, covered it, and then remembered that she hadn't made the pig's blood yet! She opened the lid and saw that it was still very fresh. She stirred it with chopsticks, recalled her memory, and added chopped cilantro, scallions, salt, and MSG. Remembering that she also had some meat broth, she ladled out a small half bowl and poured it in. The pig's blood was now complete.
