Chapter 188 Sending to a Nursing Home

Before Lu Jianjun could even agree, Old Mrs. Lu rushed out and shouted angrily, "Promise me you'll let me spend the New Year here, I'm not going back!"

Lu Jianjun rubbed his temples, feeling a bit of a headache, and looked at Lu Yang with a cold expression.

He knew that at this moment, he should ask Lu Yang to let Old Madam Lu stay, because he didn't want Old Madam Lu to go back and bother him; they now disliked each other.

But he couldn't bring himself to ask Lu Yang for help, so the stalemate continued.

Lu Yang seemed oblivious to Lu Jianjun's thoughts, and said calmly, "Finding someone for Lu Qing is something you and Grandma can discuss."

"Didn't she find Lu Yue a good family last time?"

Lu Jianjun and his wife both froze. Anyone with a normal mind would know that Xu Lao Er was not a good match.

These two people didn't care about Lu Yue's life or death back then because they were after money. Lu Yang was clearly mocking them.

The two exchanged a glance, and Grandma Lu immediately moved closer to Lu Yang, saying cautiously, "There isn't even a bundle of firewood in the house. You don't want to see Grandma freeze to death, do you?"

Lu Yang laughed: "It's the New Year, why are you talking about dying?"

Grandma Lu breathed a sigh of relief, thinking that Lu Yang had finally agreed to let her stay.

But Lu Yang continued, "Why don't we just have Lu Jianjun go and buy some coal?"

"Isn't burning coal warmer than burning firewood?"

Grandma Lu's lips twitched, her face was cold, and her eyes revealed a hint of resentment.

Lu Yang continued, "Lu Jianjun probably won't let himself get cold when he goes back, so you two can keep each other company."

Lu Jianjun gritted his teeth and said, "I will decide for myself whether to arrange a marriage for Lu Qing. I don't need your grandma's help."

"She doesn't have anything to do back home, so let her stay here for now!"

Lu Yang stared at him and said quietly, "You don't want to care about her anymore?"

"What are you talking about?"

Lu Jianjun certainly wouldn't take advantage of the fact that others were neglecting their own mother, otherwise his reputation would be ruined.

Lu Yang said with a half-smile, "As her only biological son, isn't it only right and proper for you to take her home for the New Year?"

"You know I don't like you!"

Grandma Lu sat on the ground and shouted at the top of her lungs, "I'm not leaving! I'm not going anywhere!"

Lu Jianjun also said angrily, "I'm busy. After arranging Lu Qing's affairs and getting the money, I still have to go back to Haishi."

"Xiao Yao, wait for me over there. I don't have time to take care of your grandma; she has to stay with you!"

After saying that, Lu Jianjun, fearing that Lu Yang would continue to argue with him, opened the door and ran away in a flash.

Lu Xing hurriedly went over and locked the door, only then did he breathe a sigh of relief.

"It's the Lunar New Year, really..."

He looked disgusted, but when he met Old Madam Lu's gloomy expression, he swallowed the rest of his words.

Lu Yue pulled him to the kitchen to help Tian Zhaodi with her work. Lu Yang put down his teacup, got up, and went out.

He drove straight out the door, and only after he arrived at the electronics store did he call Du Miao.

This time, he asked Du Miao to help him find a nursing home; he absolutely could not take care of Old Mrs. Lu.

Sending her to a nursing home would be more than enough to ensure she is cared for in her old age.

In his previous life, Old Mrs. Lu had remained indifferent to their plight. The fact that he could still do this much made Lu Yang feel like a saint.

Du Miao smiled and said, "Okay, I'll help you with this. You get me a batch of electrical appliances, and I'll mail the order to you."

Lu Yang readily agreed, without even mentioning the money, because Du Miao had indeed helped him a lot.

After hanging up the phone, I stayed alone in the electronics store until dark before slowly heading home.

The year passed relatively peacefully; at least Old Mrs. Lu didn't cause any trouble.

On the third day of the Lunar New Year, Lu Yang received a call from Du Miao.

Du Miao found a large nursing home in the county, which was recently opened and had complete facilities.

"The fees are a bit expensive, but this nursing home is semi-closed. Residents are not allowed to leave unless a relative comes to pick them up."

Du Miao spoke very directly; she knew Lu Yang's family situation very well.

So it was immediately clear that Lu Yang wanted to send Old Madam Lu to a nursing home.

"Thanks."

Lu Yang quickly thanked him, wrote down the address, and then hung up the phone.

"The New Year is over, let's go back to the county."

After returning to the house, Lu Yang said calmly.

Grandma Lu craned her neck, waiting for Lu Yang to continue, but Lu Yang did not say anything more.

Tian Zhaodi nodded and said, "It is indeed time to go back. I also want to open the noodle shop as soon as possible."

Grandma Lu blinked, unable to fathom Lu Yang's thoughts.

After they packed their things, Lu Yang rented a large truck and took them all back.

Everyone else was sitting in the passenger compartment, but Lu Yang was sitting in the front passenger seat.

Lu Yang had the driver take the car directly to the entrance of the nursing home. The people sitting in the carport couldn't see outside and had no idea where the car was.

After getting off the car, Lu Yang went into the nursing home with the waiters from Chen's Restaurant who were waiting outside.

Aunt Xu asked in confusion, "The car seems to have stopped."

Tian Zhaodi nodded and said, "Yangzi said we need to refuel halfway, so we might be refueling now."

Grandma Lu had some doubts, but after hearing Tian Zhaodi's words, she immediately breathed a sigh of relief.

After waiting for about ten minutes, the door to the carport opened.

Lu Yang jumped into the car and, without saying a word, grabbed the old lady Lu and dragged her out of the car like a chick.

"Hey, what are you doing!"

Before Grandma Lu could understand what was happening, she was dragged to the main entrance of the nursing home.

"Where is this?" Old Mrs. Lu struggled incessantly, her voice sharp and piercing.

After dragging her into the hall, Lu Yang said to the caregiver inside, "This is my grandmother, Madam Lu Xu."

The caregiver smiled and said politely, "Don't worry, we will definitely take good care of the elderly."

Grandma Lu was dumbfounded and asked in a daze, "Where is this?!"

Lu Yang gave the caregiver a wink, and the caregiver immediately stepped forward and held off the old lady.

The two caregivers were very strong; they lifted her up and hurried inside.

Lu Yang watched their figures disappear around the corner of the corridor before asking the vice dean beside him, "She won't run away, will she?"

The vice president smiled and said, "It's impossible for him to run away, don't worry."

Lu Yang breathed a sigh of relief, paid a year's fee, and left quickly.

Grandma Lu was dragged into a room by the caregiver, her shoes and coat were removed, and her legs were tied to the bed.

"You bunch of bastards, let them out!"

As she spoke, Grandma Lu frantically pounded on the mattress. The caregiver remained silent, and after settling her in, hurriedly left and closed the door.

"That little beast Lu Yang!"

Old Mrs. Lu's eyes were bloodshot as she gritted her teeth and cursed.
