122 Watching a movie

Li Wei and Li Lin found seats in the screening room. With more than ten minutes to go before the show started, the two sisters began to eat and chat to pass the time.

Li Lin took a sip of her drink, glanced at her sister's silly expression as she ate popcorn, and couldn't help but say, "Sis, you need to stay away from that Geng Xinyang. I think he has ulterior motives towards you. Be careful, don't let him seduce you. You have a boyfriend, after all." She had to remind her sister not to be fooled by a movie ticket and a bucket of popcorn, otherwise her sister would be sold out and still be counting the money for him.

Li Wei choked on her popcorn, quickly snatched the drink from Li Lin's hand, took a big gulp, and only after swallowing it did she breathe a sigh of relief and slowly say, "I have two questions. First, how did you figure out that Geng Xinyang was trying to seduce me? Second, when did I get a boyfriend? How come I didn't know?"

Li Lin glanced at Li Wei with a look of utter disbelief, "It's simple. I saw that guy talking to you both times I went out with you, and his eyes would gleam with a thief's light whenever he saw you. I'm not nearsighted, how could I not see it? As for that boyfriend... wasn't it Luo Jianhua? You two broke up? How come I didn't know?" Seeing how incredibly naive her sister was, Li Lin thought, "No, I need to give her a good talking to when I have time. How can she be so lacking in vigilance!"

Li Wei leaned back weakly in her chair, feeling a little dizzy. What... what was going on? Could it really be as Li Lin said? Impossible, Li Lin's eyesight is better than hers!

Regardless, the two sisters' understanding of people and things went completely to opposite extremes. Li Wei firmly believed that Li Lin was wrong, and that her eyesight was terrible. Just from the fact that she treated Luo Da as if she had some kind of... relationship, you could tell.

Li Wei had seen the movie before; it was "Girlfriend," starring Brigitte Lin and Charlie Chin, who were both beautiful and young. However, she didn't really like the story. Luckily, the popcorn was quite good, and after finishing it, she went back for more. Eating, drinking, and watching the movie, it wasn't too bad.

As the event ended, Li Wei was behind Li Lin. The two walked closely together with the crowd as they moved out. Suddenly, Li Lin tugged at Li Wei's clothes and whispered, "Sis! Look! Isn't that Luo Jianhua and Luo Er? Oh? There's another girl there! Oh dear, sis, did you really break up with Luo Jianhua?"

Li Wei looked in the direction Li Lin was pointing, and sure enough, there stood Luo Da in a row of people in the distance, followed by a girl, and behind the girl was Luo Er. Behind Luo Er… was an old woman. (b汗)

Could it be that Luo Da, unable to bear the loneliness after being rejected, has finally made another move?

But wait a minute. Why is Luo Er holding that girl's hand? Shouldn't it be Luo Da doing that? It seems like Luo Da has a hand fetish.

Li Lin saw it without Li Wei saying anything. She commented, "Sister, I see. It seems like that girl and Luo Er have some unusual relationship. Otherwise, why are they holding hands?"

The two sisters chatted amongst themselves. Finally, the two rows came together. Li Lin came out of the exit and hurriedly jumped over to call out to Luo Er, "Hey, Luo Jianzhong. Introduce him. Who is this?"

Luo Da and Luo Er had already spotted Li Wei and her sister. They were standing there waiting for them. When Li Lin asked, Luo Er smiled and introduced them: "This is my cousin, Zhong Xin. Oh, cousin. Her name is Li Lin, and her name is Li Wei. We were neighbors when we were little."

The girl was fairly pretty and had a delicate appearance. She smiled at Li Wei and the others but didn't say anything. She stood next to Luo Da, waiting to leave.

So they're relatives. No wonder the two brothers came along. They're even watching a romance movie. Li Wei couldn't help but laugh at the thought. Luo Da must have wanted to see a martial arts film but didn't get to. He must be so annoyed. You can tell from his dark face. He looks so impatient.

The group hadn't exchanged more than a few words when Geng Xinyang and Li Lianhui arrived. Geng Xinyang seemed a little surprised to see Luo Da, but he still smiled and said, "Brother, what brings you here? You're watching a movie with a girl, haha..."

Luo Da didn't speak, but his lips twitched, though it was unclear what he meant.

Since they had run into each other, the group left the cinema together. Luo Da had driven the car, and the three of them, along with Li Wei and her siblings, made up the group. So, without hesitation, they told Geng Xinyang to go and hail a taxi.

Geng Xinyang remained as good-natured and good-tempered as ever, getting into a taxi parked on the side of the road outside the movie theater without any displeasure, and waving goodbye to everyone.

Luo Da got into his car, and Li Lianhui unceremoniously sat in the passenger seat. Luo Er had to squeeze into the back seat with the three girls, and was teased by Li Lin: "Luo Jianzhong, you are so lucky. So many people want to sit with us but don't have the chance. You should feel extremely honored."

Luo Er deliberately made a bitter face and said, "Yes, I am very honored. Can't you see I'm as happy as a steamed bun? Li Lin, you are so right. If I had brought a camera, I would like to take pictures to remember this. I'm just afraid my brother won't allow it."

Luo Er already knew about the incident at Luoda Park where someone was assaulted and a camera was stolen. Of course, he didn't find out from his brother—Luo Er would never tell him—but rather from chatting with Geng Xinyang and the others. So he deliberately brought it up today to tease his brother and Li Wei.

Li Wei naturally didn't notice or react, and sat there obediently. Anyway, that incident happened a long time ago.

Luo Da saw through his brother's little trick. He glanced at the back in the rearview mirror before speaking, "Waiter, if you don't speak, no one will think you're mute. You'd better shut up."

He sighed inwardly, wondering why Li Xiaoming hadn't reacted at all, whether he was just slow to react or simply didn't care.

Li Wei was thinking about getting sleepy and going back to take a shower and get some sleep when she didn't notice that these people were up to some little schemes. So she yawned and leaned on Li Lin's shoulder: "Let me lean on you for a while. I'm so sleepy. I'll take a nap. Wake me up when we get home."

Li Wei usually has a regular sleep schedule, and she gets sleepy if she doesn't sleep on time. But today, the movie screening took up an extra hour of her sleep time, so she got sleepy while watching the movie, and now her eyelids are drooping.

Li Wei was half asleep when she got home, but Li Lin and Li Lianhui woke her up and dragged her inside.

Seeing Li Wei's unsteady figure, Luo Da was utterly speechless. Was she really that tired? She's usually so energetic. Had she been reading something stimulating lately?

Li Wei woke up the next day feeling as energetic as ever. Tomorrow was the weekend. The sun was shining brightly today; it was a good day, hehe.

After breakfast, I changed my clothes and went to school. As soon as I got downstairs, I saw Geng Xinyang and Luo Da standing on the side of the road talking excitedly, like two brothers.

Li Wei went over and greeted them, then said, "What are you two doing? Why aren't you going into the school?" It seemed neither of them were going this way. Who knew what mischief these two were up to, otherwise they wouldn't be foolishly wooing people in the street like that.

Luo Da was the first to react. He said to Li Wei, "I came here especially to pick you up. Let's go to school together."

Geng Xinyang didn't say anything, just smiled and followed Li Wei and Luo Da.

Li Wei asked Luo Da, somewhat puzzled, "Is there something you need? Otherwise, you wouldn't have come all this way to find me. Tell me, do we need to be so polite?" Was he trying to hold her hand?

Luo Da felt a little uncomfortable after Li Wei asked him: "Do you have to have something important to do to come? If you really have nothing to do, hurry up and leave. Why ask so many questions?"

Li Wei glanced at Geng Xinyang on the other side, somewhat puzzled. Geng Xinyang just smiled at her without saying a word.

What on earth are these two doing?

Li Wei simply stopped asking. What Luo Da did was beyond the comprehension of ordinary people, and it was none of her business anyway. Let them do whatever they want.

Luo Da was really dutiful; he actually escorted Li Wei and Geng Xinyang to the classroom door before turning back to his own class.

Li Wei had long since given up on figuring out Luo Da's performance art, and returned to her seat to prepare for self-study. She'd preview the material, figuring today's lesson would be new, even though it wasn't new to her at all.

Sure enough, after a morning of rotating classes, almost every lesson was a new lesson. Li Wei didn't dare to relax just because she had already studied them on her own. On the contrary, she listened very attentively. She had seen too many times how a slight lapse in concentration could lead to a major setback.

Li Wei knew too much about these kinds of things, so she tried her best to avoid such basic mistakes. Whenever she was in class, no matter what the teacher was saying, she would go over anything she didn't understand, and even if it was a lesson she knew very well, she would still go over it carefully again to make sure no one slipped through the net.

Teachers would undoubtedly appreciate Li Wei's extremely serious attitude towards learning, especially given her outstanding performance in the last test. Now, every teacher in the same grade knows Li Wei.

Li Wei should be considered a celebrity now, she just doesn't know it. Besides, even if she did know, she still has to honestly rely on her own learning.

When Li Wei went home for lunch, Ding Anni didn't come looking for her this time, saying she went out to eat with her classmates. Zhou Xiaoyan, however, came over happily: "Li Wei, are you going home after school today? My mom called last night and said my dad is coming to pick me up today. Do you want to come home with me?"

After riding in Li Wei's car several times, Zhou Xiaoyan felt uncomfortable. Her vanity was obvious; she felt embarrassed to always ride in Li Wei's car.

Li Wei was happy to fulfill her friend's small wish. Anyway, she wanted to go home, so it didn't matter whose car she rode in. Thus, she agreed to Zhou Xiaoyan's request.

But it's the same whether one person or two people ride together, so why not let Dad have some peace and quiet and let Li Lin and Li Lianhui ride in Zhou Xiaoyan's car?

Li Wei originally wanted to call her dad to let him know, but she forgot in the afternoon. By the time she got out of school in the evening, her dad had already arrived. Since she had already promised Zhou Xiaoyan, she had no choice but to let Li Lin and the others go with her dad.

She and Zhou Xiaoyan would wait for Zhou Xiaoyan's father at the school gate later.
