254th birthday

254th birthday

Dingding's birthday is at the end of the first month of the lunar calendar. Dingding is now four years old and started kindergarten this year. Li Wei has spoken to her aunt's family several times in the past six months and has also spoken to Dingding a few times.

This little guy is quite talkative now, and he's especially lovable.

Although she is pampered by her whole family, she is not spoiled at all and is a sensible and polite little girl.

Today is Dingding's birthday. Cheng Fei and Ding Anni didn't go to work. Aunt Zhang prepared the meal early. Ding Anping ordered a big cake the day before, just waiting to celebrate his precious daughter's birthday today.

Several younger guests were also invited, but the older generation, such as Dingding's grandparents and maternal grandparents, had already received red envelopes in advance and would not be coming today.

Li Wei and her husband, along with Li Lin, Li Lianhui, and Ding Anni, were all among those invited.

Li Wei just got back. A couple of days later, Ding Anni also went to her maternal grandmother's house, so she hadn't seen her.

As for Zhou Xiaoyan and Cai Lianhualin, Xiao and the others, they had both been in contact by phone, but hadn't met in person. Li Wei didn't say much, only that she was coming back. She felt that having a bunch of little monkeys wasn't something to brag about, and she tried to avoid mentioning it as much as possible.

Fortunately, apart from Ding Anni, no one else really knew about this.

As usual, Li Wei and her siblings rode in the car driven by Da Luo, the same Volkswagen Santana they always drove in the provincial capital. Because of the cold weather, the elders did not agree to take the children with them, so the three little ones stayed at their maternal grandmother's house.

Although the Li family's celebration wasn't as grand as the Luo family's, Li Wei felt at ease with Sister Wei and the two aunts there, and her mother also at home.

As for Aunt Gao, Li Wei gave her a year-end holiday the day after she returned. She'll come back after the New Year's party.

The five of them arrived at their aunt's house. The food was already on the table, and the cake was laid out. They were just waiting to light the candles and make a wish.

As soon as Ding Anni saw Li Wei and the others arrive, she immediately jumped over, grabbed Li Wei, and looked her up and down: "Tsk tsk... Not bad. Not fat at all. I thought you'd be a bit overweight by now. You're really fertile. Three children. I've never even heard of that. I'm already honored to see twins like Li Lin and Li Lianhui. I never imagined I'd be even more honored to be able to look up to the legendary mother of multiples..."

"Alright, alright. Dingding is waiting for you to blow out the candles together. Hurry up and get on with it. What are you nagging about?" Li Wei saw that Ding Anni was becoming more and more unreliable, so she quickly tried to distract her.

To be honest, Ding Anni is a grown woman. She's two years older than Li Wei and three years older than Li Lin, but she doesn't seem as mature as Li Lin. Of course, this is in front of people she knows well. In front of strangers, she's quite poised and confident.

Uncle Ding Anping was talking to Da Luo while casually directing Aunt Zhang to put out the dishes. Aunt Cheng Fei brought out several glasses, a bottle of wine, and a bottle of juice, and asked everyone to take their seats.

Seeing that Li Wei and Da Luo hadn't brought any children, they said with some regret: "I thought you could bring one, so we could take a picture with Ding Ding today as a memento."

Before Li Wei could speak, Li Lin took over and said, "We wanted to bring them along, at least the little girl, but Mom wouldn't allow it, and Grandma wouldn't allow it either. She said they're too young and can't eat anything, so she asked you, Auntie, to take Dingding over to play sometime."

Li Wei stroked Dingding's soft hair and asked with a smile, "Does Dingding like celebrating her birthday?"

Dingding said softly, "I like it. Big sister, I want to have my birthday every day, so Mom can let me eat cake every day and I don't have to go to kindergarten. Isn't that great?"

Seeing the longing on Dingding's little face, everyone smiled.

Since it was Dingding's birthday, a gift was a must. Every year, Li Wei would prepare a gift for Dingding, and this year was no exception. Li Wei asked Da Luo for the car keys, put a coat on Dingding, and took Dingding outside. She took a large gift box out of the trunk of the car, and Dingding happily said thank you, picked it up, and ran back inside.

Dingding returned to the living room and eagerly tore open the packaging. Inside was a beautiful Barbie doll set, along with several pretty and gorgeous dresses for the doll to dress up.

Dingding, overjoyed, forgot all about the cake and started fiddling with it, leaving aside the large dolls that Li Lin and Ding Anni had given her.

Li Lin was displeased and muttered, "It's good to be rich; everything you buy is pleasing to the eye. Sigh..."

Her aunt glared at her: "Don't talk nonsense. Giving gifts is about the sentiment. As long as the sentiment is there, that's enough. Why say so much? Your sister has bought you things for your birthday and the New Year, hasn't she?" In Cheng Fei's mind, only Li Wei and Li Lianhui in the Li family were likable. The ones she disliked the least were her sister Cheng Min and this Li Lin.

Cheng Fei thought her sister Cheng Min was too worldly and vulgar, lacking in manners. As for Li Lin, besides being vain, she was also a bit cunning.

She genuinely liked Li Lianhui and Li Wei, and she admired Luo Jianhua. Over the years, she had met many people in the business world, and although Luo Jianhua was young, he was a responsible and shrewd man. Xiaoming would be fine following him.

Cheng Fei not only liked Li Wei, but also admired her from the bottom of her heart. She always felt that this girl had a kind of precognitive wisdom. Although she didn't seem that shrewd, she actually had a good eye for talent.

Cheng Fei had met many successful men, but none of them could compare to her. This girl, aside from enjoying life, didn't seem to care much about money. This made Cheng Fei think that Li Wei would definitely be successful in the future.

You have to give up something to gain something.

Everyone had a lively meal at Aunt's house, and then Ding Anping took many photos of everyone and his beloved daughter. Afterwards, Ding Anping and Da Luo Li Lianhui chatted for a long time, while Li Wei and Aunt and the other women played and talked with Dingding. They mostly talked about interesting things from school.

Li Wei had few interesting stories, after all, she hadn't attended many classes. Ding Anni and Li Lin, on the other hand, had much richer experiences. Both lived in school dormitories, the kind where eight girls squeezed into one room, so naturally, they had more stories to tell. On weekends, when they had nothing to do, they often visited each other's schools, and each developed different impressions of the other's school. As a result, they would talk about it with great enthusiasm, while Li Wei, her aunt, and Ding Ding, who was changing clothes for her dolls, gradually could only listen.

After spending half a day there, everyone said goodbye. After seeing Cheng Fei and her family of three, Ding Anni automatically and willingly went with Li Lin and the others to Li Wei's house to play. More importantly, she was incredibly curious about the three new children who had appeared at Li Wei's house.

Three of them! I wonder if they look alike, more like Luo Jianhua or Li Wei... This is just too funny, hehehe... I wonder if Gao Jin and the others will be disappointed when they hear this, hehehe...

Ding Anni grew increasingly smug and couldn't help but say to Li Wei, "Hey Li Wei, I got a call from Gao Jin a few days ago when the holiday started. He asked about you and even asked for your home phone number. Was he...hehe..."

Li Wei glared at her: "Don't talk nonsense. You shouldn't mess with your friend's wife. I know you like him, how could you have any improper thoughts?" Even if she wanted to, it would be pointless, as she was already being held back by her three children.

Luo Da glanced at Li Wei in the rearview mirror but didn't say anything.

Li Wei, oblivious to what was happening, asked Ding Anni, "By the way, which school did Gao Jin get into?"

Ding Anni said helplessly, "Tsinghua University, oh Tsinghua University, sigh, the sky is so high and the clouds are so light, we have to look up to see it. I think I have no chance."

Gao Jin was originally the top student in his grade when he was in the first year of high school. Every year, students from No. 1 High School are admitted to Peking University and Tsinghua University, so it is not surprising that he was able to get in.

However, she couldn't stand Ding Anni's self-deprecating attitude: "Don't be so pathetic. So what if you went to Peking University or Tsinghua University? People study there too. He's a person too. There's no need to be so awe-inspiring. You've always considered yourself a beauty. What was your saying again... Right, a beauty is worth two people, and a beauty is invincible. Hehe... those are the two sentences."

Li Lin chimed in, "That's right, that's right. You've always been quite confident, saying things like 'beauty and brains go hand in hand,' like the Ding family's little sister Annie O(_)O haha~"

Ding Anni, unusually, did not refute, but said listlessly, "Look at Gao Jin, he has good looks, he has intelligence, and his family is well-off. What do I have to compare with him? I'm even embarrassed to say it."

Li Wei immediately said, "Your thinking is wrong. Does that mean Einstein also had to find a scientist as a wife? No matter how outstanding he was, he wasn't looking for a work partner. Does that mean he had to find a girlfriend who was equally intelligent or exceptionally beautiful? I doubt there are many people like that. So the chances of him remaining a bachelor in the future are skyrocketing."

Li Wei's words clearly reminded Ding Anni, who clapped her hands and said, "That's right, you're right. I should have realized it from the fact that he's interested in you. Actually, he doesn't mind having a slightly less intelligent girlfriend. How come I didn't think of that? Hehe..."

Li Wei -_-|||

Before Li Wei could say anything, someone couldn't help but speak up: "Ding Anni, you should stop saying things like so-and-so is interested in Xiaoming. She's already married. What do you mean by saying that? Besides, what's wrong with Xiaoming? Watch your words."

Ding Anni then remembered that Li Wei was indeed someone else's woman. Look how unhappy her master was! She was so oblivious; she had completely forgotten about this.

Ding Anni quickly tried to salvage the situation: "Hehe...actually, I was just kidding. It's a holiday, so everyone's asking around about each other, it's normal, hehe..."

Li Wei was too lazy to pay attention to her; after all, she was just an ungrateful wretch with no sense of propriety.

When they arrived at Li Wei's parents' home, Li Wei and Da Luo simply ate dinner there before taking the child back to the Luo family home.
