Chapter Thirty-Four: First Encounter

Since then, He Zhan has remained single. His grandfather is anxious but there's nothing he can do. Every time he urges He Zhan to get married, He Zhan argues, "With Hai Sheng around, our family business will have someone to take over. Why should I go and ruin other people's daughters?"

The old man was cornered.

After gradually learning about the He family's past, Tang Xiaoxiao couldn't help but sigh.

From then on, when she saw the unruly He Haisheng again, she was less impatient than before and more tolerant.

He Haisheng is twenty years old this year, while Tang Xiaoxiao's birthday is younger, so strictly speaking, she is only a few months older than He Haisheng.

However, out of pity for the other party who lost his parents at a young age, Tang Xiaoxiao's eyes inexplicably became more kind when she looked at him, which often made He Haisheng's hair stand on end.

After sitting at the He family's house for a while, Tang Xiaoxiao got up to say goodbye, and He Haisheng hurriedly stood up as well, saying, "I'll see Xiaoxiao out."

He dared not call Old Master He and He Zhan "boss".

After leaving the He family villa, He Haisheng said enthusiastically, "Boss, I'm inviting a few buddies out for dinner tonight. How about we get to know each other? They're all people from the group chat; you haven't met them yet."

"No need, I'm not familiar with them." Tang Xiaoxiao politely declined.

She never spoke in that group, but she didn't want to offend He Haisheng, so she didn't leave the group either.

He Haisheng looked disappointed. "Boss, why are you like this? It's okay if we're not familiar with each other. We'll get to know each other after a few more meetings. They're all my childhood friends, and they're all very nice people."

"There might be a chance, but let's skip it today. I have to go to my sister's house later; I have important business to attend to."

"Alright then," He Haisheng said reluctantly.

After getting rid of He Haisheng, Tang Xiaoxiao called Tang Xinxin and learned that she hadn't gone to the store that day but was at home. So she drove directly to Tang Xinxin's house.

The two chatted about Tang Xiaoxiao's experiences during her two-week trip. When it was time for school to end, they went to pick up Xuanxuan from school together and took her home. Tang Xinxin said, "A new animated movie was released at the cinema today. I've already booked tickets to take Xuanxuan to see it tonight. If you're free, why don't you come along? Don't go home tonight, just stay here for the night."

Tang Xiaoxiao thought about it and decided that it was neither a problem nor a problem, so she agreed.

I called my parents to tell them I was staying at my sister's house that night and that they shouldn't worry. I checked the time; it was a little past six in the afternoon, and the movie started at nine. There was just enough time for them to go out and have a leisurely dinner.

The two sisters didn't need to dress up much. After changing Xuanxuan's clothes, the three of them went out.

Tang Xiaoxiao chose the restaurant, which was a well-known Chinese restaurant owned by the He family.

Tang Xiaoxiao had been cooperating with He Zhan for more than half a year, and this was the first time she had visited the He family's business. She rarely ate out, and her palate had become too picky because of the crops in her space. She couldn't stomach the ingredients in restaurants. Tang Xinxin was the same. Tang Xiaoxiao took care of all the fruits and vegetables for the mother and daughter. Xiao Xuanxuan had long since stopped touching snacks. How could snacks compare to the fruits her aunt brought?

However, the vegetables and fruits in the He family's restaurant are all provided by her, so it is naturally different from other restaurants.

The two sisters had a small baby with them, so they couldn't eat too much. They ordered four of the restaurant's signature dishes, two meat dishes and two vegetable dishes, plus a vegetarian soup, and the food was served quickly.

The two meat dishes were Dongpo pork and squirrel-shaped mandarin fish, both highly recommended by the head chef. The He family's restaurant has always been high-end, so the ingredients are naturally top-notch. Under the chef's careful preparation, the Dongpo pork was fatty but not greasy, melting in the mouth, while the squirrel-shaped mandarin fish was sweet and sour, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The two vegetarian dishes, one stir-fried seasonal vegetables and the other hand-torn cabbage, used ingredients provided by Tang Xiaoxiao. Because the head chef's skills were far superior to Tang Xiaoxiao's, these two vegetarian dishes were much more delicious than what they made at home.

In fact, Tang Xiaoxiao had considered whether or not to start a breeding business. So far, she only raised a dozen or so chickens in her space and had not expanded the scale. Occasionally, she would catch one and pretend that she had bought it from outside to treat her family. The chickens raised in her space were delicious in terms of both meat and eggs. Tang Xiaoxiao was a meat lover and often couldn't help but think about what the pork, beef and mutton produced in her space would taste like.

But the thought of the overwhelming smell from the farm made him back out.

The three of them were thoroughly enjoying their meal when, halfway through, they saw He Zhan walking over with two middle-aged men in suits.

Their table was by the aisle. This was a restaurant owned by the He family, so it wasn't strange to run into He Zhan there.

He Zhan naturally saw Tang Xiaoxiao as well, stopped beside her, and said with a smile, "What are you doing here? I invited you to stay for lunch this afternoon, but you refused. Instead, you secretly came here by yourself."

Tang Xiaoxiao also stood up and said, "I came here on a whim to accompany my sister." Then she said to Tang Xinxin, "Sister, this is my business partner, Mr. He Zhan."

Tang Xinxin, who had been facing away from He Zhan, stood up to face him and extended her hand with a smile: "Hello, I am Xiaoxiao's older sister."

Today, Tang Xinxin wore a well-tailored silk top paired with slim-fit jeans, showing off her great figure without revealing a single bit of skin.

Her face bore a resemblance to Tang Xiaoxiao's, but her features were more striking and elegant. Her long, black hair was simply tied up at the back of her head, with a few stray strands falling beside her cheeks, giving her a languid yet alluring look.

Looking at the slender hand reaching out to him, He Zhan calmly grasped it, then separated it immediately. His face remained expressionless, but his heart was churning with emotions.
