Chapter 279 New Life

The middle-aged female doctor took the notebook and opened it, her face immediately showing surprise. She looked at Su Jinyue's photo in the notebook, then looked at Su Jinyue again. "Are you really a military doctor?" How could she be a military doctor at such a young age? But this ID didn't look fake.

Jin Zhifeng was stunned when he heard this, and reached out to take the work ID from the middle-aged female doctor, "Let me see!" After carefully looking at the photo on the work ID, it was indeed Su Jinyue.

"You're a military doctor?!" Doctor Liu looked at Su Jinyue in shock. Even interns at Su Jinyue's age were rare, let alone military doctors. Military doctors had to pass numerous assessments before they were qualified to work in military hospitals.

Su Jinyue nodded, "Am I okay now?" Saving a life is like putting out a fire. The longer the time is delayed, the more dangerous the mother will be.

"Of course." Jin Zhifeng glanced at Su Jinyue's work ID card again and returned it to her. He felt that Su Jinyue's name was somewhat familiar, but he couldn't remember where he had heard it before.

"Prepare the surgical instruments for me, quickly." Su Jinyue walked over to the woman in labor, placed her hands on her belly, and began massaging it. Not only was the fetus in the wrong position, but the baby's neck was also entangled in the umbilical cord. Only by freeing the baby's neck from the umbilical cord could the baby's position be restored to normal.

The mother's amniotic fluid had almost drained out, making a natural birth difficult. However, if she had a caesarean section, the conditions were too primitive and it would be prone to infection. So she planned to wrap the baby with her Qi and slowly push it out.

The nurse quickly brought the surgical instruments.

After Su Jinyue asked the nurse to put the surgical instruments aside, she said, "Go get a sheet to cover the woman in labor." The woman in labor is a woman, and it would not be nice to have so many men watching her.

"Okay!" The two nurses quickly took the sheets and pulled them apart, separating Su Jinyue and the mother from everyone else.

Jin Zhifeng and Doctor Liu exchanged a glance, shook their heads helplessly, and could only step aside to attend to the other wounded. Even though they were doctors, they were still men, and it was not appropriate to squeeze in to watch a woman giving birth.

The middle-aged female doctor smiled at the two of them, walked around the covering sheet and came to Su Jinyue's side, "How can I help?"

"Just hand me the surgical instruments later." Su Jinyue saw that the child's position had returned to normal, and began to wrap the child with her true Qi, slowly pushing him into the birth canal.

The middle-aged female doctor was a little surprised to see Su Jinyue just massaging the woman's belly with her hands but not performing surgery. "Aren't you going to have surgery?" Didn't she just say that she wanted to have surgery as soon as possible?

"The conditions here are too poor, and mothers are prone to infection." Su Jinyue said.

As the baby entered the birth canal, the mother's expression became more painful, and her hair, face and body were already soaked with cold sweat.

"Scissors." Su Jinyue stretched out her hand.

"Oh!" The middle-aged female doctor quickly picked up the scissors and handed them to Su Jinyue.

Su Jinyue took the scissors and cut the woman's lower body. Soon the baby slid out of the birth canal smoothly.

The blood-covered baby fell into Su Jinyue's arms and let out his first loud cry since coming into this world. It sounded like relief, and more like a celebration of his own birth.

"It's born!" Everyone in the tent showed surprise and looked in the same direction. They really wanted to see the little life now, and what they wanted to know most was whether the mother was safe.

Su Jinyue cut the baby's umbilical cord, handed him to the middle-aged female doctor beside her, and then helped the mother suture and disinfect.

Seeing the middle-aged female doctor carrying the child out, the doctors and nurses who had finished their work, as well as the wounded, all gathered around.

Seeing the middle-aged female doctor holding a baby with eyes wide open, seemingly looking at them, everyone couldn't help but smile. Although they all knew that newborns couldn't see anything, looking at this new life was like seeing a glimmer of hope, a ray of sunshine, and they believed that this difficult time would soon be overcome.

After Su Jinyue took care of the woman in labor, she saw that the middle-aged female doctor had already wrapped the baby in clothes and brought it over.

She took the child from the middle-aged female doctor's hand, looked at him for a while, and placed him next to the woman in labor. "The child is very cute."

"Doctor... thank you..." the woman said weakly, her eyes filled with gratitude as she looked at Su Jinyue. She knew that if it weren't for Su Jinyue, both mother and child would have been in grave danger. This wasn't her first pregnancy, so she knew what it meant to have her amniotic fluid flowing for so long.

Su Jinyue smiled and shook her head. "This is what I should do. You should take good care of yourself."

"Doctor, can you help me choose a name for my child?" The woman in labor looked at Su Jinyue with anticipation. Her husband and family were gone, and now she had only this child left. She asked Su Jinyue to name the child so that when the child grew up, he would tell her that his life was given by the doctor who named him, so that he would remember this kindness. If the opportunity arose, she hoped he would repay Su Jinyue.

"Okay." Su Jinyue responded: "What's your last name?"

"Zhang, the chapter of the article." said the woman in labor.

Su Jinyue thought for a moment and said, "Then let's call him Zhang Zhe."

"Okay, let's call him Zhang Zhe. I can't read. Can you write it for me?" asked the woman in labor.

Su Jinyue walked to the side, took out a pen and paper, wrote the words "Zhang Zhe" on the paper, walked to the woman in labor, and handed the paper to her.

"Thank you, doctor! Can you tell me your name?" The woman looked at Su Jinyue, hoping she would tell her. She wanted to remember her name, so that her child would remember it in the future.

"My name is Su Jinyue." Su Jinyue said with a smile.

"Hmm!" The woman in labor smiled faintly and closed her eyes tiredly.

"Doctor Su, we're all so lucky to have you here this time, otherwise we really wouldn't know what to do." Doctor Liu said with a smile. He really hadn't expected Su Jinyue to be so skilled at such a young age. No wonder she was able to become a military doctor.

Su Jinyue smiled and shook her head, "I'm going back." She had been out for a long time, and if she didn't go back, Ding Sian and the others would be worried.

"Su Jinyue, was it you who developed the Qinglian Pill?" Jin Zhifeng looked at Su Jinyue, his eyes brimming with surprise and excitement. He finally remembered where he'd heard Su Jinyue's name before. His teacher had told him about her, saying she was not only a skilled doctor, but also extremely talented in preparing potions.

Su Jinyue nodded and walked outside.
