Chapter 81 I Can Do Acupuncture

He leaned down, got close to Tan Wang, and threatened him, word by word.

Tan Wang shuddered and completely broke down. He knew Shi Jixing wasn't bluffing him.

"I'll sign...I'll sign..." Tan Wang shakily picked up the pen and signed his name on the contract.

After signing the contract, Tan Wang seemed to have all his strength drained away, slumping onto the stool, his face ashen.

Shi Jixing snatched the contract, examined it carefully, and after confirming it was correct, a smug smile appeared on his face. He spat out a curse, muttered "useless trash," and turned to leave.

"Shi Jixing...you...you will die a horrible death..." Tan Wang stared intently at Shi Jixing's departing figure.

Tears of regret, like a burst dam, gushed from Tan Wang's eyes. He hated himself! He hated himself for being so blind as to follow such a heartless bastard as Shi Jixing! He hated himself even more for his insatiable greed, which had led to this tragic end!

He has lost everything now—his stall is gone, his money is gone, and he's burdened with debt. How is he going to survive?

Meanwhile, Xu Kuo had sold all his vegetables. He patted Niu Erbao on the shoulder, told him to go back first, and then walked towards the guard team.

He wanted to see what tricks Tan Wang could pull this time!

As soon as Xu Kuo stepped through the gate of the guard team, he heard Tan Wang's heart-wrenching cries.

"Xu Kuo! Xu Kuo! I was wrong! I really know I was wrong! Please save me! Please save me!"

Upon seeing Xu Kuo, Tan Wang scrambled to his feet, grabbed his leg, and wept bitterly.

"Please, Xu Kuo, I'm kneeling down! I'm kowtowing to you!" Tan Wang said, kowtowing to Xu Kuo with a series of loud thuds. The sound of his kowtowing was so painful that it made one feel sorry for him.

"I...I will never dare to go against you again! I...I am a piece of trash, worse than a pig or a dog! I..." Tan Wang sobbed uncontrollably, his face covered in snot and tears.

Xu Kuo looked down at Tan Wang, his face showing no sympathy whatsoever.

"If only you had known then what you know now!" Xu Kuo sneered. "Now you know you regret it? Too late!"

"It's not too late! It's not too late! Xu Kuo, as long as you rescue me, I... I'll follow you from now on! If you tell me to go east, I'll never go west! If you tell me to chase a dog, I'll never chase a chicken!" Tan Wang eagerly expressed his loyalty, afraid that Xu Kuo wouldn't believe him.

Xu Kuo raised an eyebrow. "Oh? Are you sure?"

"I'm sure! I'm sure! If I, Tan Wang, dare to oppose you again, may I be struck by lightning and die a horrible death!" Tan Wang swore to the heavens, his vow resolute.

Xu Kuo chuckled inwardly; this Tan Wang was indeed a "talented person" who could bend and stretch. However, he wouldn't easily believe Tan Wang's words.

“Fine, I can get you out of here, but…” Xu Kuo deliberately dragged out his words, “you have to agree to one condition.”

"Don't even mention one, I'd agree to a hundred or a thousand!" Tan Wang said without hesitation.

"From now on, behave yourself and don't cause any more trouble. Also, follow me and do your job well!" Xu Kuo said each word clearly, his tone carrying an unquestionable authority.

"I promise! I definitely promise!" Tan Wang nodded repeatedly.

"Alright, you wait here." After saying that, Xu Kuo turned and left the guard team.

After rescuing Tan Wang, Niu Erbao will have more people to help him sell vegetables in the future.

Xu Kuo left the guard team and went straight to the township hospital.

As soon as I stepped into the corridor, I heard a loud argument.

"Shi Jixing! Look at the mess you've made! There's a problem with the vegetables at the market, and you still dare to shirk responsibility?!" Secretary Wen's voice was filled with anger.

Xu Kuo looked in the direction of the sound and saw Secretary Wen pointing his finger at Shi Jixing, rebuking him sternly. Shi Jixing, however, kept his head down and remained silent.

Several doctors and nurses were standing in the corridor, all with their heads down, not daring to breathe.

"Secretary Wen, please don't be angry."

"How can I not be angry? Wenwen got sick from eating at the company cafeteria! What's wrong with the vegetables at the market?!" Secretary Wen became more and more angry as he spoke, his voice trembling.

Shi Jixing's eyes darted around, and he suddenly pointed at Xu Kuo, saying loudly, "Secretary Wen, this matter is inextricably linked to Xu Kuo! Those vegetables all came from his field!"

He wanted to shift the blame and make Xu Kuo take the fall.

Secretary Wen was taken aback and turned to look at Xu Kuo.

Xu Kuo snorted coldly and said calmly, "Secretary Wen, don't listen to his nonsense! It was that brat Tan Wang who came to my field to steal vegetables, and he only stole the daffodils I planted!"

"What?! Daffodils?!" Secretary Wen was stunned.

Seeing this, Shi Jixing realized he had miscalculated again and became furious: "Xu Kuo! You...you stop spouting nonsense!"

"Enough!" Secretary Wen shouted angrily, interrupting Shi Jixing. "Shi Jixing, apologize to Comrade Xu Kuo!"

"Secretary Wen, I..." Shi Jixing wanted to argue, but when he saw Secretary Wen's stern eyes, he immediately deflated.

"I...I'm sorry..." Shi Jixing apologized to Xu Kuo very reluctantly, his voice so low it was almost inaudible.

"Secretary Wen, what is this...?" Xu Kuo looked at Secretary Wen with some confusion.

"Comrade Xu Kuo, what brings you here?" Secretary Wen asked.

"Oh, I came to find those poisoned patients, to apologize to them, and to ask them to forgive Tan Wang so that Tan Wang can be released sooner," Xu Kuo said truthfully.

"What?!" Shi Jixing jumped up immediately upon hearing this. "Xu Kuo! You...are you out of your mind?! You sent Tan Wang in, and now you want to get him out? Are you playing us for fools?!"

Shi Jixing was absolutely furious! He couldn't believe that Xu Kuo would be so "kind"!

Secretary Wen frowned, looking somewhat troubled: "Comrade Xu Kuo, the number of people poisoned this time is quite large, I'm afraid..."

“Secretary Wen, if I can cure these patients and give them some compensation, would that be enough?” Xu Kuo interrupted Secretary Wen.

"What? You can cure them?" Shi Jixing exclaimed as if he had heard the biggest joke in the world. "Xu Kuo, who do you think you are? A god? The hospital is in complete chaos right now, and you're just making things worse!"

Secretary Wen shook his head and sighed, "Comrade Xu Kuo, I appreciate your kindness, but..."

Xu Kuo took out a row of silver needles from his pocket and waved them in front of everyone: "I know a little acupuncture, maybe I can give it a try."

"Acupuncture?!" Shi Jixing stared wide-eyed at Xu Kuo. "Xu Kuo, get out of here! Don't get in my way!"

"Secretary Wen, please let me try." Xu Kuo completely ignored him.

Shi Jixing was so angry that he jumped up and down, pointing at Xu Kuo's nose and yelling, "You country bumpkin, what do you know! You really think you're something special? Men, throw him out of here!"

"Wait!" Secretary Wen raised his hand to stop Shi Jixing. "Let him give it a try."
