Chapter 220 Handover of Supplies (Part 1)

Around 9 PM, Du Yuhan and Han Yixian each set off in a car. Han Yixian drove Du Yuhan all the way to her destination.

He got out of the car and instructed Du Yuhan in the other car, "Just wait in the car. Don't get out or open the door for anyone you don't know. After you receive the supplies, get back in the car immediately. When we arrive, you don't need to show your face; just drive back."

"Drive directly to my house. My aunt will be waiting for you there, and you can stay at my place tonight. She won't feel at ease if you don't come to my house. This is safer than you going back to the compound; no one will suspect your whereabouts."

Du Yuhan nodded and said, "I understand, don't worry."

Han Yi gave them a long explanation, but although he was still worried, he could only drive back. He hoped it would be midnight soon so they could set off again.

After Han Yi left, Du Yuhan parked her car on the side of the road, turned off the engine, and waited for a while.

She sensed that there was no sound outside and began taking things out of the space.

She stacked the items along the roadside so that they would be easy to load onto the truck when it arrived.

Fifty tons of seafood, all dried, that's quite a lot. The sacks were stacked along both sides of the road for a long stretch.

After putting everything away, Du Yuhan turned the car around and parked it on the side of the road, heading towards City C.

The night was pitch black and quiet, save for the chirping of insects. Du Yuhan turned on her flashlight and checked her watch; it was almost one in the morning. Han Yixian and the others should be arriving soon.

Sure enough, Du Yuhan soon saw car lights flashing in the distance, and soon the car arrived at where Du Yuhan had put her things. The car leading the way was the one carrying Han Yixian and Gu Qishen.

Du Yuhan saw Han Yi get out of the car first. He made a pre-arranged hand gesture to Du Yuhan, and then Du Yuhan flashed the car lights twice and started the car to leave back to City C.

She also saw her father and older brother getting out of the car. A long convoy followed behind them. Seeing this, Du Yuhan felt relieved.

She didn't need to worry about anything after that; she stepped on the gas, shifted gears, and sped away.

When Du Yuhan returned to Han Yixian's residence, Yu Huiru opened the door as soon as she knocked.

Yu Huiru patted her chest and said, "I was so worried about you, you're finally back. Come on in, Mom made you a midnight snack, eat something. We'll stay here tonight. Your dad and the others won't be back until after dawn."

Du Yuhan felt very happy eating the late-night snack her mother made; this is what it feels like to have family love.

The two younger children had already fallen asleep and were sleeping in Liu Gang's room.

Yu Huiru watched her daughter eat a late-night snack and said, "Xiao Han told me that it was best not to go back to the compound in the middle of the night to avoid arousing suspicion, so he brought us to his house."

They're not coming back tonight, so the kids and I will have to make do here for the night. I'll sleep in the west room with the kids, and you can sleep in the east room. You must be tired today, so go to bed after you eat and wash up.”

Du Yuhan nodded and said, "Okay, you don't need to worry about me anymore. It's so late, you should go to sleep."

After finishing her late-night snack, Du Yuhan washed up and went to sleep in Han Yixian's room. Yu Huiru stayed with the two little ones.

Yu Huiru got up early the next day. She was not familiar with Han Yixian's house, so she just turned on the stove.

Du Yuhan heard the noise and got up.

Yu Huiru said to her daughter after she got up, "Yuhan, your dad and the others came over today. They've been busy all night, so we should make them some breakfast. I'm not familiar with Xiao Han's house, so I can't just touch their things. Do you know where they keep their grain?"

Du Yuhan said, "I know, Mom, you don't need to worry about it. I'll make breakfast. You can look after the two kids. I'm afraid they won't be used to this sudden change of location."

Yu Huiru didn't stand on ceremony with her daughter and went back to her room to look after the two children, guessing they would wake up soon.

Without her mother by her side, Du Yuhan went into the kitchen and took out some things from her spatial storage, including vegetables, meat, eggs, rice, and noodles.

For breakfast, she first cooked a large pot of millet porridge, then kneaded dough and chopped vegetable filling to prepare steamed dough dragons.

Du Yuhan took out half a basin of minced meat from her space, mixed it with chopped vegetable filling, oil, salt and other seasonings, and made a big basin of filling.

Then, the risen dough was rolled into a relatively large sheet, the filling was placed on it, and it was wrapped into long strips of dough.

The water in the steamer on the stove had already boiled, and Du Yuhan placed the dough dragons one by one on the steamer rack to start steaming.

The two-tiered steamer can steam several large dough balls at once. Du Yuhan steamed four batches in total to cook them all. It's summer now, so the dough balls cool down slowly, but it doesn't matter if they get cold.

When Han Yixian and the others returned, Du Yuhan had already prepared all the food and was just waiting for them to come back and eat.

Those who returned this time were He Chenglin, Gu Qishen, Han Yixian, and Liu Gang. As for He Zhenhua and his group, they led the convoy back to the main force.

Du Yuhan quickly fetched water for everyone. "Dad, wash your face first. I've already made breakfast. You can eat after you've washed up."

While the others were washing up, Du Yuhan set the food on the table. Yu Huiru helped as well. The two little ones had already gotten up and eaten the millet porridge and noodles that Du Yuhan had made, and were now playing in the yard.

Gu Huayang was very happy to see his father. Gu Qishen was also happy and lifted his son up high.

He Haobo, watching from the side, also wanted to be lifted up high. Han Yi went over first and lifted him up, and the little guy finally smiled.

As Du Yuhan handed her father a towel, she asked, "Dad, have all the things been brought back?"

He Chenglin nodded and said, "Don't worry, they're all stored in the warehouse that Yi Xian designated, and there are people managing them."

Du Yuhan said, "Dad, your team isn't having an easy time either. I already prepared supplies for you this time, so you can share some with me."

He Chenglin said, "I've already talked to Yi Xian and the others. They'll help me collect some things, and I'll buy them from them with the money. Anyway, they need money to collect things. Then they'll give me a portion of the supplies. I'm in charge of the logistics department, so it's easier for them to operate. This way, things will be a little better for us. My pressure will also be reduced."

Du Yuhan nodded and said, "That's good."

She turned to the adults and children playing happily in the yard and said, "Alright, stop playing and come eat."

When everyone sat down at the table, they found the dough dragon that Du Yuhan had made quite unusual. Upon tasting it, they discovered that it had filling, and it was even meat filling.

Du Yuhan's noodles tasted amazing, especially when paired with thick millet porridge and pickled vegetables with sesame oil.

He Chenglin was alright, but the other three were all young men who could eat a lot. Du Yuhan only ate half a noodle roll before she was full, and the rest was devoured by the four of them.
