He Yuhan realized that they had entered a tunnel, and with the help of Xi Chuan's flashlight, they could see the general layout of the tunnel. The walls on both sides of the tunnel were made of bricks and stones, and there were unlit torches stuck in them from time to time.
The tunnel seemed to have no end. They followed Xichuan for an unknown amount of time before arriving at a fork in the road with three passages.
Then Nishikawa led everyone to the rightmost tunnel.
He Yuhan felt that they had been walking in the tunnel for at least one or two hours, and her feet were sore from walking.
He Yuhan deliberately pretended to be weak and said, "I really can't walk anymore. Can we take a break? My feet are probably all blistered."
Xi Chuan turned to look at He Yuhan and said, "Miss He, please hang in there a little longer. We'll be there soon. Once we get there, you can rest as you please."
He Yuhan said, feigning helplessness, "Alright then, I hope the 'soon' you mentioned is very short."
They continued onward, and sure enough, it didn't take long before they reached the end of the tunnel.
Nishikawa walked up the stone steps at the end of the tunnel, opened a door, and led everyone into a relatively spacious hall.
The hall was also completely dark, and one could only see things by using a flashlight.
Xi Chuan walked to a spot, took out a torch, stuck it in the wall, and lit it. He then lit two more torches and stuck them in different places, which made the hall much brighter.
With the torchlight, He Yuhan was able to see the situation in the hall clearly.
He Yuhan estimated that the hall was a square-shaped space, about a hundred square meters in size, but it was very well-maintained. The hall wasn't empty either; there were many wooden crates on the floor, stacked up to half a person's height.
He Yuhan also noticed that there were several doors around the hall, which reminded her of the secret warehouse she had discovered before, which also had many storage rooms.
He Yuhan wondered if there were warehouses behind these doors, and what was inside. She was also very curious about the contents of the wooden crates in the hall.
Xi Chuan turned to He Yuhan and said, "I'm sorry to trouble you to stay here for two days, Miss He. We'll set off in two days."
He Yuhan nodded and said, "I have no problem."
Xi Chuan was satisfied to see that He Yuhan was behaving herself. He said to the man with the mustache, "Xinliang, you and Xiao Fang stay here with Miss He. There is food and water in the bundle. You can eat something first. We'll go out and check the situation."
The man with the mustache nodded and said, "Please go ahead, we have no problem here."
After Xi Chuan left with another person, only two people remained to guard He Yuhan.
He Yuhan walked to a corner and sat down against the wall. She was exhausted from the journey.
She took off her shoes and rubbed her slightly swollen feet, thinking about what to do next.
This must be the secret warehouse they were talking about. She needs to find out what's inside so she can decide on her next move.
The two men knew He Yuhan was tired, so they didn't bother her when they saw her resting in the corner. Instead, they opened a package, took out a few steamed buns, and took out a bottle of water from another backpack.
The man with the mustache handed He Yuhan a steamed bun and a pot of water, saying, "Miss He, please eat something and drink some water."
He Yuhan accepted the steamed bun and water without hesitation and said, "Thank you."
After giving He Yuhan the food and water, the man with the mustache went to the side and ate steamed buns with the man with triangular eyes.
The two of them started talking while eating.
He Yuhan didn't eat the steamed bun; instead, she put it into her spatial storage. She didn't drink the water either; who knows if it had been spiked?
She poured some water from the kettle into her spatial storage to create the illusion that she had already drunk some. Then she took out a bottle of water from her spatial storage, drank some, and quickly put the bottle back into her spatial storage.
The corner where He Yuhan was located was dimly lit, so no one would notice her doing anything.
She wiped her hands with a wet wipe, then took out a piece of bread from her storage space and ate it. After quickly finishing the bread, she felt a little full and stopped eating.
Although He Yuhan was making some underhanded moves, she kept a close eye on the conversation between the two people, hoping to glean some useful information.
Then the man with the triangular eyes whispered, "Xinliang, this must be the secret warehouse we found a while ago. This is my first time here."
The man named Xinliang replied softly, "That's right. Almost no one can find us here, which is why Commander Xichuan brought us here. It's said that Han Yixian has already arrived in Kyoto. If he asks the Han family for help for He Yuhan, then Han Yixian's father certainly won't stand idly by. We'll be in danger then."
Even if the Han family has incredible abilities, they won't be able to find us if we hide here. Besides, if we just hold out for two more days until the ship is ready, we can leave.
This time we'll go back to China and won't have to come back. We can finally live a peaceful life.
The man with the triangular eyes asked curiously, "What kind of things are stored here?"
The man with the mustache shook his head and replied, "I don't know either. This is only my second time here."
The man with triangular eyes leaned closer to the man with the mustache and whispered, "Let's sneak a peek while Commander Nishikawa isn't looking. Just a peek, I'm really curious."
As he spoke, the man with the triangular eyes went to a corner and carefully pried open a wooden box. When he opened it, he exclaimed in surprise and quickly covered his mouth.
