Chapter Sixty-Two: Speculation

He Chenglin and He Zhenhua looked around the child and breathed a sigh of relief when they saw that it was their own child and that he was safe and sound. Only then did they notice Huo Xicheng standing next to them.

He Zhenhua asked in surprise, "Xicheng, what are you doing here? Did you rescue these children?"

Huo Xicheng greeted He Chenglin and his wife and said, "The little girl next to me is a child who has been abducted. I reported it to the train conductor, who is also my cousin Tao Guangliang."

I happened to be on the train at the time, chatting with my cousin, when I learned about what happened. We all worked together to rescue the six children. Du Yuhan is the biggest hero.

The He family was taken aback when they heard the name Du Yuhan, because their youngest daughter was also named Yuhan, but her surname was not Du.

They all looked at Du Yuhan beside them and were stunned again, because although this little girl wore big glasses and had long bangs, she gave the He family a sense of déjà vu.

The saying goes that a mother and daughter are of one heart, and Yu Huiru reacted the most strongly. She stared blankly at Du Yuhan and then asked, "Child, your name is Du Yuhan? Who else is in your family?"

Just as Du Yuhan was about to answer, the child in Yu Huiru's arms started crying. Yu Huiru had no choice but to try and soothe the child. But no matter how she tried, the child wouldn't stop crying, much to the annoyance of the He family.

He Chenglin touched the child's forehead and then the diaper, saying, "The child doesn't have a fever, and the diaper isn't wet, so why is he crying so much? Is he hungry?"

Huo Xicheng said, "It shouldn't be because they're hungry. We just fed the baby formula."

Du Yuhan said softly, "Auntie, how about I soothe the child for you?"

Huo Xicheng said from the side, "Yes, maybe Du Yuhan can coax her and make her feel better. She's really good at coaxing children."

The fact that Huo Xicheng, a tall, handsome man who never showed any courtesy to girls, praised Du Yuhan like this made the He family members take notice.

Yu Huiru handed the child to Du Yuhan. Du Yuhan skillfully held the child in her arms and comforted her.

Sure enough, the child stopped crying after being comforted in Du Yuhan's arms for a while, which amazed everyone. Such a young child already knows how to recognize people.

Yu Huiru exclaimed, "It seems this child is truly destined for you; he was overjoyed as soon as he was in your arms."

Yu Huiru felt an increasing sense of kinship with Du Yuhan the more she looked at her.

The little one next to Huo Xicheng saw the pretty aunt holding the little brother and wobbled over to stand next to Du Yuhan, grabbing Du Yuhan's trouser leg.

Du Yuhan looked down at the little one clinging to her trouser leg and smiled.

Seeing this, Yu Huiru said, "Xiao Du really has a way with kids."

Before Hui Ru could ask Du Yu Han anything more, another family member of the child arrived at the police station.

This time, a young man and a middle-aged woman came.

The middle-aged woman entered the police station, glanced around, and went straight for Du Yuhan.

The middle-aged woman ran up to Du Yuhan, hugged the little one next to Du Yuhan, and cried, "Grandma's darling, you scared Grandma to death. How could Grandma live if you were lost?"

The young man, looking anxious, approached the middle-aged woman and child, saying to the He family, "Uncle He, Aunt Yu, Zhenhua, I didn't expect to see you here. What are you doing here?"

The young man was named Gu Qishen. He was tall, handsome, and had a somewhat aloof demeanor; he was clearly no ordinary person.

He is the eldest son of the Gu family, a prominent family in Kyoto, and works in a government department.

The middle-aged woman is Liao Yuhua, Gu Qishen's mother, a gentle and beautiful woman. She is also Yu Huiru's close friend and sister.

Du Yuhan also knew Gu Qishen; in her past life, the Gu and He families were very close. She never expected the lost child to be from his family.

He Chenglin said, "Is this your child? This is really something. My eldest grandson was also abducted. Luckily, Du Yuhan was a clever girl who noticed something was wrong and saved these abducted children."

At this moment, Liao Yuhua also saw the He family members beside her. She took Yu Huiru's hand and said, "Why are we sisters so unlucky? Our child was stolen. It's good that it's been found, otherwise I really wouldn't be able to live."

After everyone greeted each other, the He family recounted the process of rescuing the child.

Liao Yuhua kept thanking Du Yuhan.

Du Yuhan, holding her little nephew, smiled and said, "Auntie, please don't be so polite. Nobody wants to see a child abducted and separated from their parents. Besides, it was the People's Liberation Army soldiers and the train staff who rescued the child. I only reported what I saw."

Liao Yuhua said, "If it weren't for your discovery, the children wouldn't have had a chance to be rescued. You are a great benefactor to our Gu family."

Liao Yuhua, Yu Huiru, and Du Yuhan were chatting, while He Zhenhua, Huo Xicheng, Gu Qishen, and a few others were talking together.

He Chenglin subtly observed the little girl holding his grandson. The more he looked at her, the more he felt that Du Yuhan resembled his wife.

Thinking of his youngest daughter whom he had never found, and then thinking of the family from his hometown who had taken her in, whose surname was Du Hechenglin, he became even more excited.

He wanted to ask the little girl who looked like his wife and shared the same name as his youngest daughter a good question, but he knew now was not the time and tried his best to suppress his excitement.

The parents of the abducted children arrived one after another. After confirming that everything was correct, they went to the police station to complete the formalities and then thanked Du Yuhan and Huo Xicheng.

Du Yuhan's report saved six families from falling apart, otherwise these six families would have been plunged into suffering.

Huo Xicheng said goodbye to everyone and left early because he was in a hurry to return to his unit to report for duty.

He Chenglin subtly pulled Yu Huiru aside and whispered, "Huiru, don't you think this little girl with the same name as our daughter looks a lot like you? And don't forget that the family that fostered our daughter has the surname Du."

Upon hearing her husband's words, Yu Huiru excitedly whispered, "You mean, she might be our daughter?"

He Chenglin nodded and said, "Let's not make a fuss about this. This is just my guess. Why don't you try to invite the girl home with us and then we can ask her properly? Now is not the time to talk about this."

Yu Huiru patted her chest to calm herself down and nodded, saying, "I understand what you mean. Don't worry, I will definitely let her come home with us. Don't forget, our eldest grandson can't live without her. Maybe this really is our destiny."

After the couple discussed it, Yu Huiru looked at her grandson, who was happily nestled in Du Yuhan's arms, and felt a strange sensation in her heart. Perhaps it was as if heaven had sent her daughter back.

Yu Huiru stood next to Du Yuhan, stretched out her arm and put her shoulder on Du Yuhan's shoulder, and said, "Little Du, can I ask you for a favor?"
