Chapter Sixty-Three: Going Home

Du Yuhan was stunned when her biological mother suddenly put her arm around her shoulder, and then she was overwhelmed with excitement. It felt so good to be held in her mother's arms.

She suppressed her excitement and looked up to ask, "Auntie, what is it?"

Yu Huiru said, "Look, you cried as soon as my grandson Haobo left. I guess the child was frightened. Do you think you could come home with us? We can take the child home together. I think it will be easier once we get home. If you have something urgent, just pretend I didn't say anything."

Upon hearing this, Du Yuhan was even more excited. Of course, she was willing to go home with her biological parents, so she quickly said, "I don't have anything urgent, so I'll go home with you. The child is the most important."

He Chenglin's tense heart finally relaxed upon hearing Du Yuhan's answer. He and his wife, Yu Huiru, exchanged a smile, their hearts filled with anticipation.

He Zhenhua was taken aback when he heard his parents' words. His parents were never the type to trouble others, so this request left He Zhenhua somewhat puzzled.

Liao Yuhua added from the side, "Xiao Du, we owe you a lot this time. If it weren't for you, I don't know what would have happened to my grandson. We can never thank you enough for your kindness."

As she spoke, Liao Yuhua took out a wad of cash from her pocket and stuffed it into Du Yuhan's hand, saying, "We don't know how to thank you. Take this money for now, consider it pocket money."

Du Yuhan, somewhat unable to resist Liao Yuhua's enthusiasm, politely declined the money, saying generously yet firmly, "Auntie, I can't accept this money. You don't need to worry about it; I just did what I should do. Rescuing the child was thanks to the People's Liberation Army comrades and the train staff. They are the ones who should be thanked the most."

Liao Yuhua liked the girl even more when she saw how humble and polite she was and how she didn't take credit for anything.

Children are very perceptive; they can tell from the way their grandson clings to the little girl that the girl must be very good to him.

Even Gu Qishen looked at Du Yuhan with a different eye. The young girl looked quite young, but she was neither arrogant nor servile, she knew how to conduct herself appropriately, and she was also very kind-hearted—a rare quality indeed.

Especially his own son, there are very few people in the family who can get close to him, so it's like the sun has risen in the west that he's clinging to this little girl like this.

When it was time to part ways after completing the formalities, Gu Qishen's son, Gu Huayang, was still somewhat reluctant to leave Du Yuhan.

Du Yuhan felt a pang of tenderness for the little one who was so reluctant to part with her. Using her suitcase as a cover, she took out a large bag of homemade animal crackers from her storage space for the little one. These were all things she had prepared for her nephew to eat later.

She bent down and said to the little one, "Auntie will give you a bag of the cookies you just ate. They're all animal-shaped. When you get home, listen to your dad and grandma, and don't go with strangers, okay?"

I don't know if the little guy understood or not, but he kept nodding while holding a big bag of cookies.

Liao Yuhua, standing to the side, said somewhat embarrassedly, "Look, Xiao Du, we haven't even thanked you yet, and you've already spent money on us. These cookies don't look cheap, so I'll give you the money."

As she spoke, Liao Yuhua took out the wad of money that she hadn't given away earlier.

Du Yuhan said, "Auntie, I feel a connection with the little one. These cookies are homemade and don't cost much, so please don't be shy. The child might have been a little frightened this time, so please keep a close eye on him when he gets home and make sure he doesn't get sick."

Liao Yuhua said gratefully, "I'll remember that, thank you, Xiao Du. If you ever need our help in the future, just contact the Gu family in Kyoto, and we'll definitely help if we can. My son's name is Gu Qishen, and my grandson's name is Gu Huayang. Well, I hope we meet again someday."

After saying goodbye to the He and Gu families, they all got into the car, and Du Yuhan, holding her child, also got into the car.

It wasn't far from Kyoto, and He Zhenhua soon drove back to the He family's home in the military compound in Kyoto.

The Gu family did not live in the military compound, so the two families' cars separated after arriving in Kyoto.

Little He Haobo fell asleep again after his diaper was changed halfway through the journey, sleeping soundly in Du Yuhan's arms.

Yu Huiru looked at her sleeping grandson with affection and said, "Look how soundly this little guy is sleeping in Xiao Du's arms. This child really is destined to be with you, Xiao Du."

However, after everyone entered the house, little He Haobo started crying.

Everyone, quickly check what's wrong with the little one. Turns out he's wet and hungry.

Yu Huiru quickly made a bottle of milk for her grandson since she had some formula at home, and put the bottle into the little guy's mouth.

But the little one didn't really like it. After a few bites, he spat out the nipple and refused to eat anymore, then started crying.

Seeing her grandson like this, Yu Huiru said anxiously, "Is the child frightened, which is why he doesn't want to eat? Or is it because he doesn't like drinking formula?"

He Chenglin and He Zhenhua, two grown men, had no idea what was going on and could only worry anxiously.

Du Yuhan asked, "Auntie, was your child breastfed before? If so, the child might be used to breast milk and not want to drink formula."

Upon hearing this, Yu Huiru's face darkened, and she said, "His mother committed a crime and is still in jail. Our family will never let her see the child again."

Upon hearing this, Du Yuhan understood what was going on and didn't ask any further questions; she knew what was going on in her heart.

Seeing her little nephew crying so hard, Du Yuhan said, "Auntie, could you hold the child for a moment? I'm going to find something."

Du Yuhan handed her nephew to her mother and then pretended to look for something in her bag next to the living room sofa. She took out a bag of unmarked milk powder, which she had specially prepared for the child in case he needed to be fed after she saved him.

After Du Yuhan's space was upgraded, the space shop also gradually changed, and the variety of items inside increased. In addition to some things she had seen before and some strange and unusual things she had never seen before, there were even products from the 21st century.

This was something Du Yuhan hadn't expected, and it surprised her for a long time.

This was something that had never happened in her previous life. She didn't know why her space seemed to have mutated and was different from her previous life. This filled her with both trepidation and anticipation about the space.

This baby formula was the one Du Yuhan bought from the space store. She felt it was very good after reading the product description. The space store was sure to sell genuine products and wouldn't sell counterfeit goods, so Du Yuhan felt very reassured about her purchase.

The supermarket in that big shopping mall in the space also sells infant formula. She compared the two and felt that the formula bought from the space store was better. Of course, she wanted to use the best formula for her little nephew.

Du Yuhan, holding the milk powder, said, "I have a bag of milk powder here. It tastes very good. Maybe my child will like it. I'll make some for my child to try."

Yu Huiru quickly said, "How can I use your things? Put them away and keep them for yourself."

Du Yuhan laughed and said, "I don't need to drink formula. The baby isn't drinking milk right now, so let's try this. What if the baby cries too much and hurts himself?"

Yu Huiru, seeing her grandson still crying in her arms, did not stop Du Yuhan.
