"No!" It was Yun Qi who spoke.
She was originally even more soft-hearted than Yun Dazheng, and was even thinking of giving her share of watermelon to Yun Yusheng. But when she heard that Yun Yusheng was lying, she was extremely disappointed.
In the late afternoon, when she went to the village entrance to wait for her husband and granddaughter, she saw Yun Yusheng fishing for eels and crayfish by the ditch. She even heard him shouting that he had caught something. Now, seeing him spouting nonsense, she was angry and disappointed, and naturally, she was the first to say no.
"Grandma?!" Yun Yusheng stared at Yun Qishi in shock, his eyes wide with disbelief, as if he had misheard. After a brief moment of shock, Yun Yusheng immediately started making a fuss: "Why can't I eat watermelon? You all get to eat it, even strangers get to eat it, why can't I? Grandma, you're so biased! I'm your grandson! Your own flesh and blood!"
Yun Qi took a deep breath before saying, "I know you're my mother, but you shouldn't lie. You're learning bad habits! Eating a slice of watermelon won't make you good for life, but learning to lie can ruin your life... Grandma saw you fishing for eels by the ditch with her own eyes..."
Yun Yusheng's face stiffened slightly, clearly not expecting Yun Qishi to see him by the ditch. However, he quickly realized what was happening and denied it repeatedly: "No, no, you're mistaken! I was just playing by the ditch, not fishing for eels. I was watching others fish, and I was just helping them lift the line!"
Because of Xiao Jiu's information, Yun Duo knew where Yun Yusheng had hidden the eels (small) crayfish. Seeing that he was still trying to lie and make excuses, she looked directly at Yun Yusheng and said, "Then let's go to your house to look for it. If we can't find it, then it's because 'Grandma' made a mistake. I'll share the watermelon with you, and I can even give you an extra piece."
"If you find them, not only will you have to give me the eels (or crayfish) you caught, but you can't come asking for our stuff again. Are you in?"
Yun Yusheng felt guilty and became agitated upon hearing Yun Duo's words: "I won't do it! Why should I? Why should you eat the eels and crayfish I caught? If you dare to be greedy, I'll tell my mom and she'll beat you to death, you worthless good-for-nothing!"
What else is unclear?
Not only did they lie, but they were also so despicable, they were simply... completely corrupted by the second son and his wife.
Yun Dazheng's face turned as black as soot. Ignoring the fact that there was an outsider in the house, he put the watermelon he was holding on the table, took two quick steps, and grabbed Yun Yusheng like an eagle catching a chick. He pressed him onto his knee and slapped him hard on the buttocks twice.
Yun Yusheng immediately cried out, "Ouch, ouch..."
After the two slaps, Yun Dazheng asked coldly, "Do you know you were wrong?"
Yun Yusheng was stunned by Yun Dazheng's sudden double slaps. His earlier cry of pain was just an unconscious outburst, but now that Yun Dazheng was asking if he was wrong, he finally came to his senses and began to struggle. While struggling, he shouted, "Let me go! Let me go! Why did you hit me? Let me go! Are you still my grandfather? You're helping Yun Duo and not me, and you even hit me... Let me go! You old bastard..."
The last two words were silenced by another slap from Yun Dazheng, but everyone in the room understood the meaning behind his words, and both Yun Dazheng and Yun Qishi's faces changed.
