Chapter 106 So disappointed

"Old man, let him go."

Because of her profound disappointment, Yun Qi's words were soft, devoid of anger or resentment. She looked at Yun Yusheng, who was gritting his teeth and looking indignant, and said softly:

“What Duo’er gets is Duo’er’s. She can give it to whomever she wants, or not. We two old folks have limited abilities. We’re lucky if we can support ourselves. We don’t have anything to give you. You have parents, so don’t think about the little food we have to eat.”

"Go away, and don't come back again. You've wasted your time coming here; I have nothing to give you."

"Hurry up, hurry up..." After saying that, Madam Yun Qi turned her head away and stopped looking at Yun Yusheng.

Yun Yusheng was still quite young, and when he heard his grandmother's words, he was somewhat bewildered and indignant.

Why? Why are they so good to the clouds, but not to themselves at all?

He's a grandson! A boy! He can carry on the family line!

Why can't it even compare to a money-losing company?

You're all biased! You're all biased!

Dad favors Yun Shuisheng, Mom favors Wang Tiejun, even Grandpa and Grandma favor Yun Duo. Only she…only she has no one to care for her, no one to love her…

Yun Yusheng's eyes slowly reddened. He quickly wiped away the tears that were about to fall with his hand, and in a sobbing voice, he shouted at Yun Dazheng and Yun Qishi, "I hate you!" After shouting, he ran away quickly. A little while later, a loud cry reached Yun Duo and the others' ears.

Da Niu was a little embarrassed. He quickly finished the watermelon in his hand, not caring whether it tasted good or not. He ate all the slightly red flesh and then stood up to say goodbye: "Uncle Yun, Grandma Yun, it's getting late. I have to go back now. If it gets any later, I'll have to travel in the dark."

Actually, it wasn't even six o'clock yet. Summer days are long, and it's still bright at seven or eight o'clock. Da Niu is a strong, tall man, so he must walk fast; there's no way he could be traveling in the dark. But after what happened, the two elders weren't in the mood to keep their guests, and simply thanked them again solemnly.

After seeing Da Niu off, the two old men looked at each other and sighed deeply.

"Grandpa, Grandma..." Yun Duo held a slice of watermelon with a small bite taken out of it in her hand, looking at the two old people with great concern.

She never expected things to develop this way; it was completely beyond her expectations.

Although it was supposed to save her trouble, Yun Duo still couldn't feel happy looking at the two elderly people's dejected expressions.

Seeing the worry in her granddaughter's eyes, Madam Yun forced a smile and said to Yun Duo, "Duo'er, why don't you eat some watermelon and some rice? Grandma cooked some vegetable porridge, it's just been heated up."

Yun Dazheng clearly felt the atmosphere was too dull and wanted to change the subject, so he quickly nodded and said, "Yes, let's eat something, I want to eat something too." As he spoke, his eyes caught sight of the things Da Niu had left on the table, and he paused, then subconsciously said, "Da Niu forgot to take something? I'll go call him back." He turned to leave.

"No, Grandpa." Yun Duo quickly shook her head and looked at Yun Dazheng, saying, "These are all gifts from Young Master Lin to thank me. They are all from our family..." At this point, Yun Duo remembered the meat in her bag and couldn't help but tap her little head. She continued, "Oh, right, I almost forgot..." The weather was hot, and the meat had been in the bag for so long. She didn't know if it had gone bad.
