The father watched the mother's actions with a cold eye, muttering to himself, "This old woman really has no discernment; she can't even tell the difference between a person's appearance and their social standing."
After everyone had eaten and drunk their fill, the Queen Mother plopped down at the table, staring straight at Wang Rui, and ordered, "Second girl, hurry up and clean this table, and wash all the dishes."
Before he could finish speaking, Wang's father cleared his throat and interjected, "Dahua, why don't you go wash the dishes?"

Wang Hua turned to look at his mother, hoping she would step forward and say something, but his mother remained seated as still as a mountain, showing no intention of getting up to help. Helpless, Wang Hua could only sigh and reluctantly stand up to begin clearing the table of dishes.
Wang Rui sat not far from her father, with Wang Guo, who was reluctant to leave, beside her. She glanced at her father and said, "Dad, I've met someone. He works at our company. He's a good person and takes good care of me at work. We want to get married."
Mr. Wang was taken aback: "Do you know him?"
Wang Rui nodded. She knew Qian Gui fairly well; at least her boss kept a close eye on him, otherwise he wouldn't have ended up in her hands.
The Queen Mother tilted her head and said, "I'm telling you, if you agree, you can have him come and propose. If you don't agree, I'll introduce you to someone."
