Chapter 13 Annoying

Xu Xiangyang nodded and took out a glass bottle from his pocket, which contained five pounds of medicine.

"Take a look." He said, handing over the honey in his hand.

He found the honey in the shipping container; the front packaging was just paper, which tore off easily.

Based on future prices, this jar of honey would probably cost at least forty or fifty yuan wholesale.

Now... I can only exchange it for two and a half yuan.

However, he didn't think it was too little, after all, meat was only 60 cents a pound and flour was 20 cents, so 2.5 yuan was not bad.

"Okay, let's exchange it." He didn't say anything more and told the salesperson to take it.

Anyway, he doesn't have a penny right now, so having two yuan and fifty cents is fine. Who would have thought that he would feel content with just two yuan and fifty cents?

The sales clerk quickly issued the receipt, weighed the item to the correct weight, and then let him take the receipt to the cashier to exchange it for money.

Xu Xiangyang looked at the two yuan and fifty cents with great interest. He didn't think about spending the money, but carefully put it away.

Even after leaving the supply and marketing cooperative, he didn't forget what he had just done.

I inquired about the noodles at the supply and marketing cooperative; they cost 25 cents a pound, plus half a pound of grain coupons.

He thought about it and decided to sell them for two cents, accepting the grain coupons as usual. He didn't have any of those anyway, so he figured he might as well get a couple to see.

Although he couldn't find the black market, he didn't give up on selling things.

Xu Xiangyang squatted down not far from the supply and marketing cooperative, where there was a grain store nearby.

People would occasionally come in with their grain coupons to buy things, but the grain store didn't have much grain, just some millet and other miscellaneous grains.

Everything else will be bought up by the beginning of the month, but now even if you want to buy wheat flour and rice, you can't find them.

"No noodles again? It's only the 2nd today." An old woman came out of the grain store dejectedly after being turned away.

Xu Xiangyang saw this, looked around, and then followed.

He hadn't gone far when he stopped the old woman.

After all, if you follow someone for too long, they might start to wonder if you're a bad person.

So just go a few steps away, a little further away from the grain store.

"Young man, is there something you need?" The old woman looked at the young man in front of her and realized he was a complete stranger.

Xu Xiangyang smiled and asked in a low voice, "Auntie, I have some noodles here, do you want some? It's two cents a pound plus half a pound of grain coupons."

Two cents?

The old lady hesitated for a moment. Although it wasn't as good as wheat flour, dried noodles were still wheat flour.

What's more, the young man offered a lower price, five cents cheaper than what the grain store sold.

"Let me see what it looks like." She didn't say whether she would buy it or not, she just said she would take a look first.

Xu Xiangyang didn't say much, and pulled a packet of noodles out of his tattered cotton-padded coat.

"Great, give me two jin." The old lady didn't say anything more and paid with the money and coupons.

Xu Xiangyang took out another package from his tattered cotton-padded coat, handed both packages to her, and exchanged money for goods.

Luckily, this tattered cotton-padded coat was big enough, otherwise he wouldn't have had anything to do, and he couldn't very well take it out from his crotch, could he?

Even if others don't mind, he still feels uncomfortable.

After the two finished their transaction, they immediately parted ways. At this point, it was not allowed to conduct the transaction privately, as it would be bad if they were discovered.

"Xu Xiangyang?"

He was just about to approach the next buyer when he heard someone call his name.

Xu Xiangyang was a little unsure, after all, he didn't know anyone. He turned his head and saw a chubby little girl standing not far away, looking at him.

Sure enough, the little girl came over after seeing his face.

"Xu Xiangyang, you failed your college entrance exam, so you just wander around like a vagrant all day? Can't you be a little more ambitious?!"

The little girl's expression was somewhat sarcastic as she pointed at him and lectured him.

Xu Xiangyang frowned subconsciously; no one had actually pointed at him and lectured him.

This little girl looks kind and honest, but she has a really bad temper and no manners at all.

He thought for a moment and found in the original owner's memories that this person was his beloved.

He probably settled down in town. The original owner of this body failed to get into university and then looked down on everyone. He wasn't sure of the specifics, because after failing the college entrance exam, he never paid attention to his past again.

After all, it's shameful for someone from the same brigade not to have gotten into university.

But what does it have to do with other people's business? Is this guy some kind of Pacific policeman? Why is he meddling so much?!

"Yang Tianyun, whether I become a vagrant or not is none of your business to lecture me." Xu Xiangyang felt that this person was being too nosy and had a bad attitude.

Therefore, he was no longer as polite in his speech.

If everyone's being rude to you, what's the point of saving face? Just confront them!

Although the original owner didn't get into university, he was already quite literate, so what could anyone do?

Seeing his indifferent attitude, Yang Tianyun felt that his good intentions had been wasted.

"You really don't appreciate kindness. I told you to study hard!" she said angrily, rolling her eyes and leaving.

I thought to myself, I'll never see this person again!

Xu Xiangyang ignored her; the girl's temper was really annoying.

She meant well, but her attitude and manner of speaking were really annoying.

Will speaking politely cost you a piece of flesh?

Anyway, Xu Xiangyang doesn't like kids with this kind of temper.

That's right, in his eyes, this teenage girl was just a child.

He stopped thinking about it and continued wandering around.

It wasn't until 3 p.m. that he finally managed to sell the last pound of noodles.

He sold all ten jin of noodles, and without lingering, he turned around and left the city to go home.

Today was a small success. I exchanged ten jin of noodles for five jin of grain coupons, which cost me two yuan. I also bought five jin of honey at the supply and marketing cooperative for two yuan and fifty cents.

That's four yuan and fifty cents, which is quite a lot. At least he doesn't need to spend any money now.

By the time I got home, it was already dark.

A dim kerosene lamp lit up the house, and two figures were moving around inside.

When he entered the house, Xu Guangtian and his wife, who were sitting on the kang (a heated brick bed), didn't even glance at him.

"The food is on the stove. Eat something yourself, and then go to sleep. The kerosene is almost gone." Wang Xiumin didn't even look up; she knew it was Xu Xiangyang who had returned.

Xu Xiangyang resigned himself to his fate and went to the stove, where there was indeed a half-filled clay pot of cornmeal porridge.

"Didn't you say you were going to my grandpa's to pick up the things tomorrow? How come you brought them back today?" Xu Xiangyang asked while serving porridge.

Wang Xiumin rolled over and replied, "Wait until tomorrow? I had heartburn after eating potatoes this morning, so I went to get them right away."

"Oh, right!" She quickly got up, looked towards the stove along the edge of the kang (a heated brick bed), and said, "Your grandfather asked me to bring you a letter of introduction. You can start working as a temporary worker in a couple of days."

Upon hearing this news, Xu Xiangyang forgot about eating and went over to take the letter of introduction that Wang Xiumin had taken out and read it.

To be honest, he was quite curious about what kind of job he could get.

After reading the letter of introduction, he couldn't help but feel uncertain.

This job is really not good!
