"Awake?" Xu Guangtian walked in from outside and quickly asked when he saw Wang Xiumin's appearance.
Xu Xiangyang looked at the couple and felt a pang of emotion.
In my past life, I was all alone. Whether I was hospitalized due to overwork or had a cold and fever and needed an IV drip, I always had to bear it all by myself.
Now that people care about him, it really feels different.
Xu Guangtian saw that the person had indeed opened their eyes, so he quickly brought over the lunchbox.
"Xiangyang, are you hungry? Dad made you some millet porridge." He gestured to the lunchbox in his hand so that people could see it.
Xu Xiangyang's stomach was churning violently. Although he was a little hungry, he still didn't want to eat anything.
He shook his head and didn't say anything.
My throat hurts even after swallowing just now; it's probably inflamed.
"The doctor won't let us eat, you need to call the doctor right away." Wang Xiumin nudged Xu Guangtian, urging him to go out and fetch someone.
"Oh, right, call the doctor." Xu Guangtian quickly put down his things and ran out.
It's strange, but every time Xu Xiangyang gets injured, it's in his head, which must be really unpleasant.
But this time was different. He felt his left arm being bound, and when he tilted his head, he saw that it was fixed in a cast.
Wang Xiumin followed his gaze and said with concern, "Goudan, your arm is broken. The doctor said you need to rest it properly."
I have no idea how much my child has suffered; it's only been a month since I last saw him, and he's already in the hospital.
Xu Xiangyang knew that it takes a hundred days to recover from a broken bone, so this time he would have to take a vacation even if he didn't want to rest.
Wang Xiumin had a lot of questions she wanted to ask, but she couldn't bring herself to speak. The child had suffered so much; he probably hadn't recovered yet.
Before long, Xu Guangtian arrived with a doctor.
After a thorough examination, the doctor told Wang Xiumin and her husband, "There's nothing seriously wrong with them, but the post-concussion syndrome needs to be managed for a couple of days. During these two days, they shouldn't eat anything other than millet porridge."
Even without the doctor's advice, Xu Xiangyang didn't want to eat. Mainly because he couldn't get out of bed; if he ate, he'd have to defecate.
He didn't want anyone to clean up his excrement and urine for him; it was too humiliating.
The doctor went over some precautions and then left.
Wang Xiumin breathed a sigh of relief, but she was still heartbroken. The child had a big bump on his head and a broken arm.
Look at how disheveled he looks! If he hadn't come to the city to work, he wouldn't be in this state!
Xu Xiangyang later learned that he had been unconscious for two days before waking up.
The main problem was the headache and nausea; the pain in other parts of my body was a little better.
Two days later, Xu Xiangyang's post-concussion symptoms had improved somewhat, and the doctor allowed him to get out of bed and walk.
The first thing he did after getting out of bed was to go to the toilet.
Xu Guangtian usually empties his chamber pot, and to be honest, he finds it very awkward.
But he couldn't be too dramatic. Remembering that this was his father, he endured it for two days.
But he absolutely refuses to use the toilet or eat; he simply doesn't want to be waited on by anyone.
Serving him a chamber pot was already his limit; if he were to have someone else serve him anything else, it would probably become a trauma.
"Slow down, Xiangyang." Xu Guangtian said while supporting him, also keeping an eye out for anyone bumping into him.
Xu Xiangyang felt very tired after walking a few steps; his body simply couldn't take lying down for too long.
"Brother Xu." Qian Wenqing walked towards him carrying some things, and was happy to see that he could walk again.
"Are you feeling any better?" he asked.
Xu Xiangyang nodded. "Why did you come here? Aren't you at work today?"
Qian Wenqing's injuries were less severe than his; aside from bruises, he was not actually injured at all.
"My company gave me two days off, and they specifically asked me to bring you some gifts to express their appreciation." He followed behind and briefly explained what had happened in the past two days.
Xu Xiangyang didn't say anything after hearing that.
This injury was entirely due to retaliation for what happened last time.
His employer decided to cover his medical expenses and gave him leave so he could return to work after recovering.
Xu Xiangyang felt that this was already quite good, considering it was a state-owned enterprise, and that they were being very considerate.
"Go back and sit for a while," he said, inviting Qian Wenqing to go back with him.
Because he had been unconscious, Qian Wenqing came to help for a while, and then Xu Guangtian and his wife came over.
The three of them already knew each other, so no further explanation was needed.
"Little Qian is here, come and sit down," Wang Xiumin greeted him, showing a fairly good impression of Qian Wenqing.
Before he came, Qian Wenqing was always the one running around helping out. Even though the kid was injured, he still helped.
The group chatted for a while, and then Xu Xiangyang asked Qian Wenqing to take Wang Xiumin to bring him two sets of clothes.
"You bought a house?!" Wang Xiumin exclaimed in surprise upon hearing this.
There were other patients in the ward, and they looked at them with disdain as they made a fuss.
Wang Xiumin felt embarrassed and turned to Xu Xiangyang, asking, "Why didn't you tell us you bought a house?"
Xu Xiangyang said somewhat helplessly, "I live far from home, and I just bought it not long ago, so I haven't had a chance to tell you yet."
He wanted to say something, but that's how communication is these days; if you don't go home, how will anyone know how you are doing?
Xu Guangtian patted Wang Xiumin on the shoulder and said, "What good will it do to tell you? Will you give me some money?"
He thought to himself that if his child was successful, he could buy whatever he wanted. He could just tell them what to do and let them know when the time came.
Wang Xiumin glared at him. She wanted to contribute money, but unfortunately, she had none.
After Qian Wenqing and his men left, Xu Xiangyang said to Xu Guangtian, "Why don't you and my mother stay here? The house is big enough, and I earn enough money for the three of us to eat and drink."
Actually, he had this idea after buying the house, but he didn't have time to say it.
After all, there are only three people in the family, and the couple will have to go back to work in a while. He is also worried about Wang Xiumin's health.
Besides, they don't even earn enough work points to eat, so they might as well stay here and enjoy their lives.
Xu Guangtian did not agree, but replied, "Let's talk about it when your mother arrives. There's nothing wrong with our family right now, so you can focus on getting better."
Seeing that he said that, Xu Xiangyang didn't ask any more questions. Anyway, the couple wasn't very old, so there was no need to worry about them bumping into each other.
When Wang Xiumin arrived with the clothes, she had a smug look on her face!
That big courtyard and big house, the interior was so neat and tidy, it was so cool!
"Dog Egg, your house is so grand! I've never seen such a grand house before!" she said with a smile, feeling very pleased with herself.
"My son is so successful! He bought a house in the city so quickly. I heard it from Qian Wenqing. It cost six hundred yuan!"
Although Wang Xiumin didn't know where the money came from, she didn't ask any further questions.
Things have changed since Xu Xiangyang came to work in the city.
She couldn't quite put her finger on what was different. It was still the same person, but she had become much more composed in her speech and actions, causing them no worry at all, and she was also very filial to her husband and wife.
