Chapter 258 says, "Where are the two children?"

"The child traffickers took my two children away while my wife was in the toilet. I'm so sorry, everyone. I hope you can cooperate. I would be very grateful."

"When the human traffickers are caught, everyone will get credit. In these ten minutes or so, did anyone see anyone holding the children? They were both girls, one four years old and the other six, both with long hair."

As Xu Zi asked questions, he scanned everyone's expressions with his sharp eyes. He wasn't in a hurry to search for things; the train conductor was helping him check tickets and search his belongings. He tried to find some clues from everyone's expressions. Even if the child wasn't in this carriage, finding the trafficker who took the child or his accomplices could be a breakthrough.

Liu Dahai tried his best to keep his face from twitching and remain calm. Even though the ticket check was almost up to him, he couldn't give himself away. But his palms were sweating profusely. What to do? What to do? The person was right under his seat; they were about to be found.

As Xu Zijiang approached him, his mind raced. Fortunately, at that moment, his accomplices in the carriage stood up and started cursing loudly, deliberately creating a disturbance for him.

"Go ahead and check my ticket. It's not like I don't have one. Why do you have to look at my luggage? Why should I show it to you? Who do you think you are? What if my things get lost? Can you afford to pay for it?"

"Yes, I have some shady stuff in my luggage, so what? You're not a police officer, why are you looking at my bag? I'm not giving it to you! Damn it, they're treating me like a kidnapper! I've never been treated like this before! I'm telling you, I'm not letting this go!"

The man slammed his fist on the table, cursing and even shoving the train conductor, making a huge commotion. Xu Zijiang, who had already walked over, had to turn back and, together with the train conductor, try to persuade the man to calm down.

However, he didn't say much. Xu Zijiang squinted at the man while offering to compensate him with money, but the man refused outright.

"You think you can fob me off with a little bit of money? Pah! No way! I'll say it again: I won't show you, no amount of money will get me a chance!"

Seeing this, Xu Zijiang did not hesitate and offered fifty yuan, four times more than the ten yuan he had just given.

But the man remained agitated, cursing and refusing. This was definitely not normal; he was probably deliberately stalling for time, and Xu Zi immediately realized it. The direction Yu Jiu led the group towards was the sleeper carriage; his side was the hard-seat carriage.

If the man in front of me were truly that wealthy, he wouldn't have bought a hard-seat ticket. Besides, judging from his clothes, he didn't seem rich. Furthermore, he only had a small bag on his seat, barely enough to hold anything—not even a few bills. But he refused to show it, as if deliberately picking a fight.

Generally speaking, if someone knew there were human traffickers on the train, and that a child had been abducted, and that train staff were helping with the checks, almost no one would react this strongly. Even if they were somewhat dissatisfied, they wouldn't make such a scene. Therefore, Xu Zi immediately suspected him and classified him as a potential human trafficker.

He was certain that his accomplice was nearby, able to hear him, and was stalling for time. They didn't have time to hide the two children properly; once they got there, they would find them easily.

Once Xu Zijiang understood this fact, he didn't hesitate to snatch the stun gun from the train conductor's waist and knock the man unconscious.

"He's part of a human trafficking gang. Everyone, keep an eye on him while we continue the search!"

Xu Zijiang gave the urgent instructions.

Liu Dahai's accomplices caused such a commotion that everyone's attention was drawn to them. Everyone stared intently at them, thus ignoring the commotion behind them. Liu Dahai no longer hesitated. He was already sitting at the very back of the carriage. He first quietly kicked the bag containing An'an behind his seat, and then quietly got up to take An'an to the next place.

In his panic, he could only find an empty seat to sit down. In fact, this was not his seat at all. His ticket was for a seat in the two carriages behind him. Luckily, those two seats were empty, otherwise he would have noticed that something was wrong with him.

If he were to abandon An'an now and sneak away, he might be able to shake off suspicion. But he'd already gotten the child out of the car, and he really couldn't bear to give it up. Besides, it wasn't like he hadn't abducted children before. Even if they were to search, everyone would only tolerate him searching a few carriages. As long as they hid in the back and concealed the child, there wouldn't be a problem. That's how they'd always done it. He had no idea that this time he'd run into a tough nut to crack.

So even though they were about to die, they still wanted to drag An'an along with them. But Xu Zijiang acted so quickly. After seeing through the man's intentions, he swiftly stunned the man with a stun gun. Then he turned around and saw the man bending over, carrying a bag, about to make a quick getaway.

Since the middle carriages haven't been searched yet, some people in the middle carriages are curious and will walk around to check. If he really manages to sneak into the next carriage with his bag, it won't be that conspicuous, and it will be more difficult for Xu Zijiang to investigate.

However, Xu Zijiang reacted too quickly. When he saw the man wearing a hat, bending over, and furtively carrying something to leave, his pupils shrank and he immediately chased after him.

"stop!"

Upon hearing that he had been discovered, the man immediately dropped his bag, abandoning An'an who was hidden inside, and quickly ran away, pulling his hat down low. Xu Zi, burning with rage, chased after him without a word, shouting as he went.

"Catch the human trafficker! He's a human trafficker, everyone grab him!"

This was alarming. The man was a human trafficker. As the trafficker ran through the middle aisle, some well-meaning people immediately stood up to grab him. He dodged one hand, two hands, three hands by tilting his shoulder.

Seeing that Xu Zijiang was closing in step by step, and the obstacles along the way were too great, the man had no choice but to run to the window, climb onto the roof of the carriage, and then find an opportunity to jump off the train. Otherwise, if he was caught, he would be finished.

Unfortunately, he now knew he needed to act decisively, but the evil human traffickers would eventually be defeated by righteous people. He was running, almost reaching the window at the junction of the carriages, when someone in the last row stuck their leg out and raised it. Liu Dahai couldn't step over it in time and tripped, falling to the ground with a thud.

Xu Zijiang stomped on him directly, pinning him down so hard that Liu Dahai almost vomited blood.

"Tell me, where are both children!"

Xu Zi kicked him hard twice before grabbing him by the neck and lifting him up to interrogate him. However, he didn't intend to stay where he was; he wanted to drag him back. He had a feeling that there was only one child in the bag, and he didn't know if it was An'an or Nannan. There was another one that hadn't been found.

He will find every single child, no matter which one it is.

"What are you talking about? What child? I don't know. Cough cough cough, I just wanted to steal something."
