Chapter 349 Hidden Red Envelopes

"How about we have a family competition? We can play relay games, jump rope, arithmetic, reciting poems, answering questions, and dodging obstacles. Anyway, our yard is big enough to handle it."

"That sounds good. Then this part will be yours. You can plan and arrange each part first, such as how many times to spin around, how many jumps to do. We'll follow your instructions."

Yu Jiu assigned this task to An An, who said she had no problem with it.

"How about the winner still gets the New Year's money?"

An An couldn't help but chuckle; she really did want lots and lots of lucky money.

"Okay, then I'll approve a budget of five hundred yuan for this part, is that enough?"

Yu Jiu was very generous.

"That's enough! Thank you, Mom!"

An'an was very happy and immediately agreed. Since An'an had come up with an idea, how could Yuanyuan be left out? He immediately raised his hand, and Gou Dan and Gou Zaizi also raised their hands.

“Yuanyuan raised her hand first, so let her speak first. You all wait a bit, one by one, you all have a chance.”

Zhang Yan gestured for Yuanyuan to speak first, and Gou Dan and Gou Zaizi had no objections and put their hands down again.

"I want to play that ring toss game, Mom. Can you buy lots of toys and snacks and put them out? Then we can use the rings to toss the rings, and if we get a good one, it's ours, okay?"

Yuanyuan looked at Yu Jiu expectantly. Goodness, he's making a wish here.

"You're quite the thinker, aren't you? Okay, then we'll go buy some things and bring them back for you to use as a set. But there's an entrance fee, two yuan per play. Whether we can make a profit depends on how accurate we are."

Yu Jiu smiled and agreed, but then suggested charging an entrance fee, which Qian Yuanyuan readily agreed to.

"No problem! What should we buy? Can we carry it ourselves?"

“Yes, yes, yes, you four can each write down 10 things you want, and we’ll buy 40 in total and put them out so you can have as many as you want.”

Yu Jiu readily agreed.

"Yay!"

Several children jumped up and cheered.

You know, what they want is definitely not cheap, and Yu Jiu gave them 40 of them, which was really generous. No wonder the kids were so happy. Afterwards, Gou Dan and Gou Zaizi also spoke up and each suggested a small game.

One game could keep us entertained for a whole day. The adults discussed it and came up with some other ideas. They put together a pretty good game, and everyone was sure to have a happy New Year. It would definitely leave a lasting impression on their memories.

On New Year's Eve, everyone got up around 7 a.m. to have breakfast. After breakfast, they went to each other's homes and started enthusiastically hiding red envelopes.

"Sis, what do you think about me hiding the red envelope on top of the cabinet? I'll go get a chair."

Yuanyuan excitedly pointed to the cabinet in Zhang Yan and Gouzi's room and said excitedly.

"Are you stupid? You're short. Even if you hide up there, you won't be able to see them, but that doesn't mean Uncle Dog and the others can't see them. Hide somewhere else, and watch me."

An'an squatted down at the corner of the bed and stuffed the red envelope into the gap under the bed frame, covering it completely. It was so well hidden that it wouldn't be visible unless the mattress was lifted up as well.

"Wow, you're amazing! How about we hide a few more red envelopes here?"

Yuanyuan thinks her older sister is amazing!

"No, what's the point of doing this? And what if we get found? Then they'll all be taken away. No, no, let's go look somewhere else."

An'an pushed Yuanyuan into another room.

Yu Jiu and Xu Zijiang were on the first floor. The two wandered around and finally Yu Jiu settled on a good spot—the kitchen.

She squatted down and put the red envelope into a small plate, then stacked it on another plate, pressing the red envelope down tightly.

Then they put the two plates back where the bowls and chopsticks were. With so many bowls, chopsticks and plates together, who would have thought that one of the red envelopes was hidden among them?

"You're so mean! How are Gou Dan and the others going to find it? Kids don't think to look for bowls and chopsticks."

Xu Zijiang chuckled and said, but Yu Jiu spoke with conviction.

“It’s not just Gou Dan and Gou Zai searching, Gou Zi and Zhang Yan are also looking, Uncle and Aunt are looking together too.”

Because Gouzi and Zhang Yan's families had two more elderly people than theirs, each of the two families received an additional 10 red envelopes, meaning each of them kept 10 red envelopes. As for Yu Jiu's side, each person could receive a few more red envelopes.

"That's true."

Xu Zijiang smiled and nodded, then casually hid a red envelope behind the cupboard. He was tall, and he hid it well; if you didn't look carefully, you really wouldn't find it.

Then the two went to the living room and each hid a red envelope before heading to the yard. Yu Jiu hid one red envelope under a potted plant, while Xu Zijiang went even further, digging a small hole and burying the red envelope inside.

“They’ll find it even less if you do it like this, unless you bring a dog and let its nose do its job.”

Yu Jiu was laughing so hard he almost died. Xu Zijiang said that others were taking things seriously, but he himself was more serious than anyone else.

"It's alright, we can dig it up again if we can't find it. What's there to be afraid of? I'll hide some of the red envelopes a little deeper. We can't let the kids go home empty-handed."

Xu Zijiang had originally planned to hide a few red envelopes well, and a few more obviously, so that they would find them with a sense of accomplishment and enjoyment.

"You know that's good. If they can't find a single red envelope, they'll be crying."

Yu Jiu and Xu Zijiang returned to the living room. Yu Jiu placed a red envelope on the table and then weighed it down with a tissue. Although it was completely covered, it could be discovered with just a slight movement of the tissue. However, the most dangerous place is also the safest; they might not even notice it.

After that, they hid several more red envelopes, all in relatively obvious places. Some were hidden very well, while others were deliberately left with only a few corners showing. If you look closely, you can still find them.

Once they find one, they'll probably get an idea. They can rearrange things a little and find lots of red envelopes that way.

After hiding everything on the first floor, Yu Jiu and Xu Zijiang went up to the second floor to check. An An and Yuan Yuan hid on the third floor first, and then came down to the second floor. The four of them met on the second floor.

"Mom, look how many I still have left, while you only have two left!"

Yuanyuan proudly waved the four red envelopes in his hand, and An'an also had four more in her hand. They planned to hide these on the second floor.

"Wherever you hide, it doesn't matter."

Xu Zijiang tapped the brat on the head, too lazy to pay him any attention.

"Dad, you're just jealous of us! Sis, let's go!"

Yuanyuan angrily dragged An'an away.

"This brat is not as well-behaved as his sister at all."

Xu Zijiang laughed and cursed.

"Nonsense, they're all equally well-behaved. Come on, let's see if there are any good hiding places on the second floor."
