Chapter 350 Finding Red Envelopes

Yu Jiu then dragged Xu Zi away to hide the red envelope.

The group hid for over an hour before finally finishing. After they were done, Yuanyuan was still loudly asking the neighbors in the yard.

"Brother Gou Dan, you little puppies, are you all hidden? We're all hidden!"

"Almost there, just wait a little longer!"

Dog Egg called out, telling them to wait a little longer. They hid for another ten minutes or so before gradually emerging. "We're all hidden! Let's start looking for them after dinner tonight. You have no idea how good we are at hiding things; you won't be much faster than us!"

The little brat said smugly, and Yu Jiu patted his head.

"Really? We should have hidden it even better then. We were worried you wouldn't be able to find it."

"ah?"

Yu Jiu's words immediately made the two children, Gou Zai and Gou Dan, feel guilty.

"Just kidding, we've hidden it very well, there are definitely many things you won't be able to find."

Yu Jiu laughed heartily, and only then did Gou Dan and Gou Zaizi beam with joy.

The two families sat together and chatted for a while before preparing lunch. They ate lunch and dinner together, and they even started preparing ingredients for the family reunion dinner at noon, so they were busy but not bored.

The four children got together to play cards. They hadn't even received their New Year's money yet, but they were already playing with it. An'an, Gou Dan, and Gou Zaizi all lost a lot of money, while Yuan Yuan dominated, winning against all three of them.

I almost made the puppy cry.

Later, when it was time to eat, Yuanyuan let them win a round, and the little rascal didn't break down and cry.

They started eating their reunion dinner at 5 p.m., and each of them prepared their own specialty dishes.

"Look at my fried meatballs and cumin ribs, they smell delicious, I'm sure you'll love them."

"I made this dish. Look how beautiful my steamed fish looks! It's delicious, fragrant, and nutritious. And I also made this roasted lamb chop!"

"This, this, the salt-baked prawns and salt-baked shredded chicken were made by me."

The adults took turns announcing the names of the dishes, and each time a dish was served, they would boast about the feast they had prepared.

It was almost an all-meat feast, with only three vegetarian dishes: Mapo tofu, stir-fried bok choy, and stir-fried corn kernels.

There were a total of eighteen dishes, which could only be placed on two tables pushed together.

"They all look so delicious! I'm not eating rice today, I want to eat all meat!"

Yuanyuan was incredibly greedy.

"Okay, eat whatever you like, just don't overeat."

Yu Jiu said with a smile.

Both families have always been very lenient with their children, especially during the Lunar New Year; the children are basically allowed to do whatever they want. Finally, they poured soda for the children and a small glass of wine for the adults, and all ten of them raised their glasses together.

Cheers! May we always be together, and may our lives get better and better!

"May everything get better and better, cheers!"

Everyone happily and joyfully finished their reunion dinner. After resting for a while, before the table had even been cleared away, several children started clamoring to find red envelopes. Yu Jiu and the others had no choice but to put aside washing the dishes and follow them to find red envelopes.

"I found one, it's on top of the cabinet, Dad, can you get it down for me? I can't reach it!"

Yuanyuan is too short; even if he moves a chair and stands on it, he still can't reach it. It seems everyone loves the top of the cabinet and likes to hide their red envelopes there.

"Coming right away."

Xu Zijiang went over to help him take down the red envelope, and a little while later An'an called out to him as well.

"Dad, can you help me move this bed? I think I saw a red envelope inside. It's too heavy, I can't move it."

"Coming right away."

Xu Zijiang went to An'an's place again without stopping.

At that moment, Yu Jiu was also calling him from the first floor.

"Xu Zijiang, come quick and help! There's a red envelope I can't get!"

"Okay, let's go down now!"

Good heavens, the three of them were running around like headless chickens looking for red envelopes. Xu Zijiang didn't have time to look for red envelopes at all; he was busy cleaning up the mess. He went wherever he was needed, running from the first floor to the second and third floors non-stop.

Xu Zijiang almost ran himself ragged.

The situation was similar for Gouzi and Zhang Yan, the only difference being that Gouzi was much shorter than Xu Zijiang, and he had to stand on a chair to reach places that were too high.

"Dad, hurry up! We still need to find other red envelopes after we get this one. You're too slow!"

"Dad, you're an adult now, why do you still need to stand on the stool?"

"Dad, you're so much shorter than Uncle Xu. Uncle Xu doesn't even need to stand on a stool. I just went over to see!"

"Shut up! Don't think I won't beat you up just because it's Chinese New Year. Here, here, take this red envelope!"

The dog felt deeply humiliated and almost couldn't resist slapping those two brats during this happy moment. Why were their words so hurtful? Didn't they know he was short? They'd better not be like him, but like Zhang Yan, otherwise they'll be short too!

The children were incredibly enthusiastic about finding the red envelopes, running up and down the hills countless times. However, the envelopes were indeed well hidden. Xu Zijiang and Yu Jiu had found over 20 envelopes, but still hadn't found half. Gouzi and Zhang Yan had found a few more, about 30, but still hadn't found a small portion. The adults were tired from playing.

"You guys find it yourselves, we're going to clean up the table, wash the dishes, and take a shower."

The rest are quite difficult and can't be found in a short time. If we really want to find them now, we won't be able to sleep tonight.

The children didn't object and were quite happy finding the red envelopes themselves, even visiting each other's rooms to watch the fun. Even when a red envelope was right in front of them, they wouldn't point it out, just laughing and watching each other miss it – it was especially amusing.

They didn't keep watch overnight; they went to sleep after midnight, and continued searching the next day. After breakfast, they started playing other games. They could save the red envelopes for later; there was no rush.

The first game to be played was the ring toss game that Yuanyuan wanted. The four children insisted on playing this game on the first day because they couldn't wait to get what they wanted and couldn't wait until the second day.

"Ten hoops for two dollars, come on, who wants to go first, and how many hoops do you want?"

"Me! Me! Me! I won rock-paper-scissors! I'm first! Give me 10 yuan, Mom, I'm determined to get that game console!"

There are already those simple game consoles now, and they're really fun. All four kids wrote down their names for the game consoles, but Yu Jiu only bought two. Now it's a matter of who gets them first, so An'an and the other three are playing rock-paper-scissors to decide who gets to toss the rings first.

"Okay, then there are 50 rings. You can take these 20 for now, and Mom will pick them up for you later."

Yu Jiu only bought twenty rings; there's no need to buy so many. He can just throw them away and pick them up as he goes.

"Alright! I'm starting now! The game console is definitely mine!"

An An said confidently, then she threw out a ring, which flew quite a distance, maybe five or six meters beyond the game console.

"Ouch! You used too much force!"
