Chapter 104 Returning to Beijing (1/2)

When Yang Taohua heard Li Jin say it was delicious, a happy smile appeared on her face. She quickly picked up a few more pieces for her, saying, "Eat more if you like it, don't be shy!"

At this moment, Lin Jianmin suddenly spoke up and asked, "Xiao Jin, I've only heard a little bit about what happened between you and my older brother. What exactly is going on? I wanted to ask you when I wrote to you before, but your aunt said it wasn't convenient to write, so I was too embarrassed to ask. Now that everyone's here, why don't you tell me about it!"

As soon as Lin Jianmin finished speaking, his aunt Yang Taohua, who was standing to the side, became a little unhappy. She glared at Lin Jianmin and scolded him, "We're eating, why are you asking these questions?"

However, Lin Jianmin didn't seem to take his aunt's words to heart. He continued, "I've been thinking about this for a while now, and I just want to know the truth. Xiao Jin, don't keep it from me anymore, just tell me!"

"Can't you wait until Xiaojin finishes eating before you say that?" Yang Taohua interrupted Lin Jianmin anxiously, her brows furrowed and her face full of worry.

Seeing this, Li Jin quickly smiled and comforted him, "Auntie, it's alright. Since Uncle wants to know, I'll tell him. Actually, it's not complicated. It's just that I'm not their biological daughter. Back then, when they were giving birth in the hospital, my mother was also giving birth in the same hospital. They saw that my mother's family was wealthy, so they became greedy and wanted their daughter to have a better life. So they switched me with their daughter!"

Li Jin's voice was calm, but Yang Taohua was furious. She said angrily, "How could this heartless couple do such a thing! They've gone too far! No wonder they treated Xiao Jin like this; it turns out Xiao Jin isn't their biological child at all!" Yang Taohua became angrier as she spoke, her hands unconsciously clenching into fists, as if the couple were standing right in front of her.

After saying that, she still seemed indignant, so she glared at Lin Jianmin again before continuing, "Look at the good things your older brother has done! Humph!"

Upon hearing this, Lin Jianmin's face showed extreme shock, and his fists clenched involuntarily. He said angrily, "I really didn't expect that my elder brother and the others would do such a thing. This is simply too much! Xiao Jin, you must have suffered so much these past years. It's all our Lin family's fault for wronging you. We really don't know how to make up for the harm we've caused you. Yet, not only do you not blame us, but you also send us so many things every year. Your heart is truly too magnanimous!"

Li Jin slowly raised her hand and gently waved it a few times. A gentle smile appeared on her face, like the warm and soft sunshine in spring.

“Uncle, those things are all in the past, like a gust of wind that blows away and never comes back. We don’t need to mention them anymore; let them remain memories of the past.” Li Jin’s voice was calm and gentle, as if the pain and troubles of the past had been buried deep in his heart.

Yang Taohua looked at Li Jin quietly, her eyes filled with heartache and affection. She said softly, "Little Jin, you are such a kind child! After going through so much, you are still so open-minded and still treat us like family. I really don't know what to say."

Yang Taohua's words were filled with emotion; she felt incredibly gratified by Li Jin's kindness and tolerance. She continued, "Anyway, if you ever encounter any difficulties in the future, whether big or small, just come to me and your uncle. We will do our best to help you, just like we would our own child!"
