Chapter 114 Changes in Guangzhou

The train slowly pulled into Guangzhou Station. Li Jin, carrying her luggage, stepped off the train, filled with anticipation for the future and a touch of nervousness. Guangzhou Station was bustling with people, a vibrant atmosphere filled with a unique commercial vibe.

The city of Guangzhou can only be described as "prosperous" now. Skyscrapers gleam in the sunlight, and shops line the streets with a dazzling array of goods. Li Jin stood in the station square. First, she found a hotel to stay in, and then she would slowly consider what would be suitable for her.

In fact, Li Jin knew that you could make money doing anything these days, and he just wanted to find something he was good at!

After settling in, Li Jin went to the hotel's public phone booth to call her family, her godmother, and Gong Moze to let them know she was safe.

After a good night's sleep, Li Jin emerged from the hotel feeling refreshed the next day. The weather was still quite hot, so Li Jin bought an umbrella at the nearby department store. Li Jin walked along the bustling street, holding the umbrella.

When she got tired of shopping, she found a small shop to eat something and then continued shopping!

In the afternoon, Li Jin went to the nearby industrial park. Although there were quite a few factories, they were mostly hardware factories, garment factories, and electronics factories. Many of them were from Gangcheng, and there were not many factories owned by locals!

Li Jin strolled through the Yangcheng Industrial Park, carefully observing the scale of each factory, its output, and the workers' working conditions. She found the hardware factory to be deafeningly noisy, with workers busily operating various machines in the sweltering workshops, producing piles of hardware products awaiting shipment to various destinations. The garment factory presented a different scene, with the constant clatter of sewing machines as female workers focused on cutting and sewing fabric, colorful garments hanging high on racks. The electronics factory offered a slightly better environment; workers wearing masks and gloves skillfully assembled various electronic components on the assembly line.

After speaking with the heads of several factories, Li Jin learned that these factories from the port city mostly relied on cheap labor and preferential policies, and had mature order channels and production models. However, Li Jin keenly sensed that although these industries currently seemed to be developing rapidly, the competition was also extremely fierce. To gain a share of this market, one needed unique advantages and a precise positioning.

As she walked and pondered, a sudden realization struck her. She noticed that although the industrial park was filled with various manufacturing plants, there wasn't a single factory specializing in packaging materials. Yet, these hardware, garment, and electronics factories all required large quantities of packaging materials, such as cardboard boxes, plastic films, and foam padding.

A surge of excitement rose within Li Jin; she felt this might be her opportunity. She began to delve deeper into the industrial park, inquiring with purchasing staff at various factories about their current sourcing channels and prices for packaging materials. After some investigation, she discovered that most of these factories sourced their packaging materials from distant cities, incurring high transportation costs and resulting in inconsistent quality.

With this discovery in mind, Li Jin returned to her hotel and immediately began organizing the data. She meticulously recorded the types and approximate quantities of packaging materials needed by various factories, as well as the current price range for procurement. Simultaneously, she researched extensively online about packaging material production, including production equipment, raw material suppliers, and industry standards.

After finishing all this, it was already quite late. Li Jin was exhausted, but incredibly excited. Lying in bed, staring at the ceiling, she began to envision her packaging material factory. She knew this was just a preliminary idea, and countless difficulties would need to be overcome to put it into practice, but she was ready to face the challenge. Before drifting off to sleep, she silently told herself, "I must seize this opportunity and carve out my own niche in Guangzhou."

Over the next few days, Li Jin, like a tireless hunter, traversed every corner of Guangzhou. She no longer limited herself to the industrial park she had initially investigated, but turned her attention to the surrounding counties and towns.

Li Jin took a bumpy minibus to the outskirts of Guangzhou. While lacking the bustling vibrancy of downtown Guangzhou, it possessed a unique vitality. In a seemingly unremarkable little village, she discovered numerous family-run workshops. Stepping into one of these workshops, which made cardboard boxes, she found several workers skillfully operating simple tools in a cramped space, cutting, folding, and pasting sheets of cardboard to create boxes of various sizes. Li Jin chatted with the workshop owner, who explained with a sigh that although their craftsmanship was excellent, they lacked sales channels and could only accept small, scattered orders from nearby businesses.

This made Li Jin think. If she could integrate the resources of these small workshops and combine them with modern production and sales models, she might be able to create a highly competitive packaging material industry chain. She inquired in detail about the production process, costs, and worker wages, and also collected the owners' contact information.

Leaving the small village, Li Jin traveled to another town. Here, the industry was more developed, and she focused her investigation on several chemical companies. Packaging material production relies heavily on chemical raw materials, so understanding the supply situation was crucial. Li Jin spoke with the company leaders, attempting to secure stable raw material supply channels and more favorable prices. The company leaders were impressed by this young but clear-thinking girl. Although they didn't immediately finalize a cooperation agreement, they expressed their willingness to stay in touch and further discuss the details.

During a market research trip, Li Jin met a businessman in the logistics industry. In their casual conversation, she learned that he planned to expand his business, and packaging material transportation happened to be part of his plan. The two hit it off immediately, and Li Jin keenly realized that this might solve the transportation problems for her future factory. She explained her plan in detail to him and invited him to discuss the possibility of cooperation at a suitable time.

After several days of hard work, Li Jin's notebook was filled with notes, and her ideas were becoming increasingly mature. She knew that starting a factory was no easy task, and every step required careful planning. Now, it was time to comprehensively organize the information she had gathered over the past few days and formulate a detailed business plan. With a wealth of knowledge and experience, Li Jin returned to her hotel, ready to embark on a new phase—transforming the blueprint in her mind into reality step by step.
