Upon hearing this, Chief Yu immediately asked anxiously: Are you sure?
“I only heard my grandfather mention it occasionally. The reason it left a deep impression was because my dog destroyed one of his herbal illustration books. My grandfather was so angry that he fainted. When he woke up, he told me that it contained many precious herbs.”
After listening, Chief Yu gave Lin Jin a few instructions and then left the meeting room.
Everyone dispersed, and Lin Jin returned to Dr. Wang's ward.
When Gong Moze saw Lin Jin return, he quickly went over and asked:
"Dr. Lin, how is it? Any results?" Lin Jin shook her head. "Chief Yu might have gone to make a phone call. I don't think the chances are very high! So we have to go look for it ourselves."
Dr. Wang was sitting at the table eating when he saw Lin Jin come in. He greeted her briefly and then buried his head in his food again. He didn't seem to have much hope for his illness.
Gong Moze said unsurprised, "My cousin is only interested in numbers; he doesn't care much about life and death!"
A short while later, someone came to the door looking for Gong Moze.
"Captain, the commander wants you to go back, and take Dr. Lin with you!"
Okay, we'll be there right away:
Military Region Commander's Office
Chief Yu, with a solemn expression, said to Gong Moze and Lin Jin:
It seems you'll have to go find it yourselves this time.
“I will send a team of soldiers with you, Dr. Lin. If you cure Dr. Wang’s poison this time, the country will reward you handsomely.” Lin Jin waved his hand and said, “Commander, saving lives is my duty. Let’s find the Orchid Star Grass first.”
Dr. Lin will stay at the guesthouse tonight and set off early tomorrow morning!
The next day, Chief Yu arranged for a helicopter to take them to the foot of the mountain. There was no other way; time was too tight.
It was Lin Jin's first time riding in a helicopter. What would normally take a whole day by car took them only 30 minutes.
In his past life, Lin Jin loved climbing mountains and going on adventures, so he wasn't afraid at all in these deep mountains!
Their goal was clear: the highest peak of Baishan. The group set off towards the summit. The mountain path was rugged and difficult, but Lin Jin's steps were firm, with Gong Moze leading the team, closely following and protecting her. Along the way, they encountered a steep cliff, its bottom shrouded in mist. Two team members took out ropes to prepare for climbing, but Lin Jin carefully observed the surroundings and discovered a hidden path.
They hadn't gone far along the path when they encountered a pack of wolves. There were seven or eight wolves in total, baring their teeth and their eyes gleaming with ferocity. Gong Moze and his team quickly formed a circle around Lin Jin, protecting her in the center, preparing for battle.
Lin Jin shouted anxiously, "Don't worry about me, everyone! Let's finish this quickly! If we don't hurry, a large number of wolves will arrive soon!" Hearing this, Gong Moze gave the order without hesitation: "Everyone, listen to my command! Kill these wolves with all your might! Remember, use the fastest and most effective method!" He knew that the situation was urgent and that these threats had to be dealt with quickly.
Everyone responded enthusiastically, gripping their guns tightly. Indeed, in this situation, using firearms was undoubtedly the best choice; not only could they quickly eliminate the enemy, but they could also avoid attracting more trouble due to the excessive stench of blood.
The team consisted of 20 members, each a battle-hardened and highly trained elite. Facing a mere few wolves was a piece of cake. A burst of gunfire erupted, bullets raining down on the wolves. Though fierce, the wolves were forced to retreat under the overwhelming firepower.
Within minutes, the battle was over. Several wolf carcasses lay scattered on the ground, the air thick with the faint smell of gunpowder and a hint of blood. The team members skillfully cleaned some of the wolves, preparing them for tonight's meal. The rest were buried deep underground to avoid attracting other predators.
The group continued on their way. Lin Jin collected a lot of herbs along the way, and she secretly put some precious herbs into her spatial storage. Only when all the team members had some herbs in their hands or on their backs did Lin Jin stop. As they walked higher and higher, the oxygen became thinner and thinner. Although they had made preparations before coming, some people still had a reaction. Lin Jin, however, did not feel anything!
Gong Moze looked at the sky and then at the unmelted snow on the mountain.
He ordered that they not go up today and instead camp here to rest for the night. Lin Jin checked everyone's physical condition and thankfully, it was just mild altitude sickness.
