Ran Jinnian took two cups, made a cup of tea for Lu Jinyuan, and also prepared a plate of peanuts for them.
"Thank you, sister-in-law," Lin Beixiao said.
Ran Jinnian held the little guy and saw that An'an was sleepy: "You two can continue chatting. The little guy is sleepy, I'll take him to sleep."
She went back to her room, closed the door, put the little one on the bed, patted him a few times, and he fell asleep in no time.
Ran Jinnian took out her notebook. She had been listening to Lin Xiao's stories every day for the past few days, and she had heard them all by now.
Today I can organize my thoughts and it's about time to start writing.
Ran Jinnian wrote in her room for more than two hours when she heard crying outside. She went out to see what was happening.
Song Mingyi was seen crying uncontrollably while holding Lin Beixiao; he was clearly drunk.
"I'll go get some hangover soup," Ran Jinnian said as she came out.
Lin Beixiao quickly said, "Sister-in-law, no need, I'll take him away first."
He helped Song Mingyi up, supporting him by one arm: "I told you to drink less, drink less, you just keep drinking."
After he finished speaking, he said to Ran Jin, "Sister-in-law, Jin Yuan, we'll be leaving now."
"Be careful," Lu Jinyuan said.
Take care.
Ran Jinnian saw her to the door.
She watched as Lin Beixiao carried Song Mingyi out of the courtyard, then turned and went into the house: "We won't be going to the cafeteria for dinner tonight."
“Okay.” Lu Jinyuan nodded.
Ran Jinnian was momentarily at a loss for what to eat: "What do you want to eat? Hot pot? Barbecue? Or boiled fish?"
"Anything is fine."
Lu Jinyuan is not a picky eater.
Around 4:30, Zhou Hongying called out from outside the courtyard, "Jin Nian, let's go eat."
"Sister-in-law, we won't go. Jin Yuan isn't feeling well." Ran Jin Nian made up an excuse, since it would be a waste not to eat this meal.
Upon hearing this, Zhou Hongying said, "Are you tired? Then you should rest at home."
"I'll stay home with him, so there'll be someone there if anything happens."
"Okay, then we'll be going now."
After Zhou Hongying left, Ran Jinnian locked the courtyard gate.
That evening, the family of three went into the space.
Ran Jinnian laid a mat on the ground, and An'an crawled around and played by herself.
The young couple enjoyed a delicious and satisfying beef hot pot meal.
"Tomorrow I'm going to town with Qianqian and Haili," Ran Jinnian said to Lu Jinyuan.
Lu Jinyuan was washing dishes in the kitchen: "You go shopping, I'll stay home and take care of An'an."
Ran Jin thought for a moment: "Can you take care of An'an at home by yourself?"
"I can do everything except heavy work now."
Ran Jinnian glanced at An'an on the ground, the little guy was crawling around panting: "An'an weighs 23 jin now, he's a little chubby."
“Wife, your man isn’t that weak.” Lu Jinyuan frowned slightly.
"Okay then, you stay home and take care of An'an. If you can't, just put him in the stroller."
Ran Jinnian felt that it was inconvenient to bring An'an along.
the next day.
As soon as Ran Jinnian appeared in front of Xiao Haili and Bai Qian, the two of them circled around her.
"Your outfit looks amazing! You have such great taste; you don't look like a mother at all."
Bai Qian kept praising Ran Jinnian's outfit.
"Good-looking people look good in anything," Xiao Haili remarked. Her appearance was quite ordinary; to say she was pretty would be considered very good.
Ran Jinnian glanced at Bai Qian's clothes and fiddled with them for a moment: "Do you think this looks better?"
Bai Qian looked down and said, "Although I haven't looked in the mirror, I feel a bit better. Haili, don't you think so?"
“Yes, once the collar is turned up, it gives off a unique vibe,” Xiao Haili nodded.
"I'm going to town to buy a set today, Jin Nian, you get it for me."
Bai Qian held Ran Jinnian's hand.
"OK."
The three of them chatted and laughed as they rode in the military vehicle to the town.
