Chapter 86 Regret (1/2)

Fu Shen waited for several days but Yang Guohua didn't come to him. He figured Yang Guohua wouldn't suspect Su Yue about Wang Jingyi's sudden loss of back pain, so he was half relieved.

That evening, Fu Shen returned home with a letter in his hand.

It was written to him by Wang Renyi. In the letter, he earnestly said that he had found someone he was truly in love with, unlike Jia Yunxin's situation.

In the letter, he also sincerely apologized for using Su Yue to facilitate his breakup with Jia Yunxin.

Su Yue glanced at the letter in Fu Shen's hand, then casually asked, "Who wrote you the letter?"

Fu Shen stared intently at her and said slowly, "Yueyue, Jia Yunxin talked about you and Wang Renyi, why didn't you tell me?"

Su Yue was taken aback, a hint of confusion flashing in her eyes. "What do I have to do with Wang Renyi?"

Is there anything between her and Wang Renyi?

Seeing that Su Yue didn't remember, Fu Shen reminded her, "He and two comrades helped you chop firewood, and Jia Yunxin saw them."

Su Yue remembered and gave a soft "Oh," her tone relaxed and casual: "It's okay, so what if she saw it? In the end, she still couldn't win the argument with me."

Fu Shen's expression was serious as he said in a deep voice, "Wang Renyi wants to break up; he used you."

Su Yue looked puzzled, "...I don't feel like he's using me?"

She genuinely didn't feel that way; perhaps she was just dense.

If Wang Renyi and Jia Yunxin really broke up, and he was even slightly using her, she wouldn't think anything of it.

Fu Shen sighed inwardly. From the moment Wang Renyi agreed to date the brigade commander's daughter, his relationship with Jia Yunxin was no longer just a matter between the two of them.

If they ever argue or can't get along anymore, and Wang Renyi wants to break up, he must get Jia Qinghua's consent; otherwise, he can forget about breaking up smoothly.

He was certain that Jia Yunxin would say something hurtful, so he endured it, even though he knew Jia Yunxin was secretly watching him and his two comrades as they went in and out carrying firewood, and pretended to be nonchalant.

After he and his two comrades left, Jia Yunxin was sure to come and make a scene at Su Yue, so he went to find Jia Qinghua to watch the show.

No matter how Jia Yunxin tried to argue in front of everyone, she didn't dare to say what she was really thinking and could only admit defeat.

Forget it, Su Yue doesn't understand these things, and he doesn't want to explain any further.

Anyway, it's all in the past, but he still harbors a lingering resentment towards Wang Renyi.

Seeing that Fu Shen remained silent and looked somewhat displeased, Su Yue quickly stepped forward and gently tugged at his hand.

“Isn’t Wang Renyi your good brother? Don’t blame him. Besides, it’s a good thing that he used me to break up with Jia Yunxin.”

Fu Shen looked down at Su Yue, his eyes filled with regret, and said in a low voice, "If I had known we were at Second Brother's house, I would have listened to you and gone to see him."

This "he" is Wang Renyi.

Once they met, he didn't believe Wang Renyi wouldn't bring it up in person. The moment he did, he wanted to have a friendly competition with him.

It saves me from the frustration of wanting to fight but being unable to, only to find out now in the letter.

Seeing Fu Shen's frustrated expression, Su Yue couldn't help but chuckle and teased, "Didn't you say you wouldn't see him?"

Fu Shen said with a touch of childishness, "I regret it!"

If Su Yue hadn't kept this from him, the second thing he would have done upon returning would have been to confront Wang Renyi.

Su Yue rarely saw Fu Shen so persistent about something, so her smile deepened, and she comforted him, "Don't regret it. Go wash your hands and get ready to eat. Only children always talk about regret."

Fu Shen looked at Su Yue with a wronged expression, his eyes full of helplessness. Couldn't she see that he was standing up for her? Or was she laughing at him?

Su Yue turned around and ladled out a bowl of rice. Seeing Fu Shen still standing there motionless, she asked in confusion, "What's wrong?"

Fu Shen shook his head slightly. Forget it, I won't say anything more. If I do, he'll really seem like a child.

When he returned from washing his hands, Su Yue served him some food, her eyes filled with curiosity as she asked, "Did Wang Renyi mention this in his letter?"
