Chapter 634 Cha Meiling's Blessing

She said calmly, "Now that I have decided to give up the position of vice president, I should naturally stop wearing it."

"Annie, are you really sure about this?" Madam Ning looked at Cha Meiling, her brows furrowing more and more tightly.

She could tell that Cha Meiling must have been in great pain to make this decision.

Madam Ning turned to look at Ning Bingyu, who had been silent all along, and said sternly, "Ayu, tell me honestly, did you bully Annie?"

Ning Bingyu put down his teacup, a cold smile playing on his lips. He was about to speak when Cha Meiling grabbed his arm.

"Godmother, it really has nothing to do with Brother Yu..."

“Annie, you…”

"I just... I just figured some things out. I've found a new direction, and I'm going to pursue the life I truly want." Cha Meiling took a deep breath.

She raised her head, looking firmly at Madam Ning, and said gently, "Godmother, I have made up my mind."

"Alright, since you've made up your mind, I won't force you anymore." Madam Ning sighed and held the jade chili pepper in her hand.

She patted Cha Meiling's hand with a mixture of heartache and helplessness: "Annie, remember, you will always be your godmother's daughter."

"Godmother, it's getting late. I have some things to take care of this afternoon, so I'll be leaving now." Cha Meiling looked at Madam Ning, her eyes filled with a complex emotion.

"Thank you for taking care of me during this time."

Madam Ning sighed, then nodded and said nothing more.

After saying that, Cha Meiling turned her head and nodded slightly to Ning Bingyu, then turned and walked out of the room without lingering.

Inside the room, Madam Ning watched Cha Meiling's departing figure.

She felt that Cha Meiling seemed to have changed in some way, but she couldn't quite put her finger on it.

"Ayu, what exactly happened? What conditions did you and Annie exchange?" Madam Ning looked at the jade chili pepper in her hand, turned to Ning Bingyu, and raised her eyebrows slightly.

No one knows a child better than their mother. If Ayu hadn't done something wrong, this wouldn't have happened!

Ning Bingyu glanced indifferently at the jade chili pepper in Madam Ning's hand, his tone calm and unwavering—

"She gave it up voluntarily, giving up the jade chili pepper and resigning as the vice president of the Morning Light Socialite Club in exchange for control of the Cha family's business."

"She gave it up voluntarily?" Madam Ning frowned, clearly surprised by Cha Meiling's decision.

"Otherwise what?" Ning Bingyu poured himself a cup of tea and took a sip.

"Anne simply knows what's best for her."

Ning Bingyu said in a calm tone, with a hint of sarcasm, "Perhaps she will become the next Ning Man'an, ruthless and decisive in the business world, and no one will be able to take advantage of her."

Upon hearing this, Madam Ning was startled.

Ning Man'an is Ning Bingyu's eldest cousin and one of the most shrewd and capable people in the Ning family. She is ruthless and is Ning Bingyu's biggest rival in the struggle for inheritance.

Madam Ning couldn't quite describe her feelings. She supported Annie and genuinely treated her as her goddaughter.

"Perhaps I misjudged it." Madam Ning smiled self-deprecatingly and gently placed the jade chili pepper on the table.

“Mommy, please don’t say that. Cha Meiling is a member of the Cha family. It’s perfectly reasonable for her to want to take back what belongs to her family.” Ning Bingyu’s tone was indifferent, revealing neither joy nor anger.

“You’re right, I was mistaken. Meiling has always longed to inherit the Cha family business.” Madam Ning sighed, her expression somewhat forlorn.

She had thought she could be Cha Meiling's support, but now it seemed she had been delusional.

“Mommy, you don’t need to worry too much. Everyone has their own wishes. If you wanted a daughter, you’ve already found Char Siu…”

Ning Bingyu stood up, walked behind Madam Ning, and gently patted her shoulder.

"A little sister who likes to eat char siu."

Madam Ning finally smiled as she thought of her youngest daughter.

"Ayu, how are things going at home? Xiaoyuan is coming back to Hong Kong with us in early December."

Madam Ning said earnestly, "This child has suffered a lot since she was young. Please pay more attention to your sister's affairs, understand?"

"Okay, Mom." Ning Bingyu replied casually, "The second and third sons are in charge of taking care of things, and it's almost done, so don't worry."

Madam Ning nodded in satisfaction and took a sip of tea.

Madam Ning nodded in satisfaction, then chatted with Ning Bingyu about everyday matters before letting him leave.

As soon as Ning Bingyu reached the door of his office, he saw Chu Hongyu standing there with a pile of documents in her arms, seemingly having been waiting for a long time.

I saw him come out.

Chu Hongyu raised her long, slender eyebrows and deftly handed over the document: "President Ning, this is the agenda and guest list for tomorrow's symposium. Please take a look."

"Hmm." Ning Bingyu took the documents and casually flipped through them. "Who will be attending tomorrow's meeting?"

"They were all leaders from the city and relevant units involved in the renovation project of the Tenth Department Store. The meeting was followed by a dinner party in the evening," Chu Hongyu said.

"Okay, I understand. You're coming with me." Ning Bingyu took the documents, flipped through them casually, and headed straight for his office.

Chu Hongyu followed behind him, and when the two reached the office door, they ran into Cha Meiling.

When Cha Meiling saw the two of them, she paused, her gaze lingering on Chu Hongyu for a moment.

She then looked at Ning Bingyu expressionlessly: "Brother Yu, when will I get what I deserve?"

Ning Bingyu stopped and turned to look at her, a half-smile playing on his lips. "What, you can't wait any longer?"

“I just want to know the exact time.” Cha Meiling looked directly into Ning Bingyu’s eyes, her gaze resolute.

"Don't worry, you won't have to wait too long." Ning Bingyu said calmly, "Just go back to Hong Kong and wait for news. If you don't get the things, just tell Mommy."

It was as if they were talking about a trivial matter.

Cha Meiling wanted to say something more, but Ning Bingyu's assistant, Mark, rushed over, "Young Master, something's come up at the construction site, what do you think..."

"Okay, I'll go change my clothes and tell Tony to prepare the car," Ning Bingyu replied.

Ning Bingyu turned to Chu Hongyu and instructed, "You'll be coming with me to the construction site in a bit."

"Yes, Young Master," Chu Hongyu replied.

He turned to Cha Meiling and said, "I have something to do, you should go back first."

After saying that, he turned around and went back to his office without waiting for Cha Meiling's reaction.

Cha Meiling suddenly looked at Chu Hongyu: "Miss Chu, can I take a few minutes of your time? I have a few words I'd like to say to you."

Chu Hongyu looked at Cha Meiling: "What does Miss Annie want to say?"

“As someone who’s been through this, let me give you a piece of advice,” Cha Meiling said, looking at Chu Hongyu with a hint of pity and mockery in her eyes, “the eldest son of the Ning family has no heart.”

Upon hearing this, Chu Hongyu was slightly taken aback, then smiled faintly, "Thank you for the reminder, Miss Annie, but I advise you to mind your own business."

Cha Meiling looked at Chu Hongyu and suddenly chuckled, "I hope you can stay by his side longer than all the other female celebrities."

She then turned and left without saying anything more.
