Chapter 101 Eating Steak
As the city lights began to twinkle, Lin Shanshan lay in Gu Yiye's arms, her head resting on his arm, her little hand unconsciously patting Gu Yiye's muscles.
After a few minutes of filming, Gu Yiye grabbed her fiery hand and said in a hoarse voice, "Wife, you're pregnant, not even three months along yet. Don't mess with your man, I can't hold back any longer."
Lin Shanshan quickly stopped and said, "I didn't do it on purpose. I was just thinking about something."
Gu Yiye asked, "Are you worried about the drought?"
"Well, it was fine before I got pregnant, but now that I'm pregnant, the famine will probably happen in August. By then, my belly will be big, and it will be inconvenient to carry food around to provide disaster relief."
Gu Yiye's brow twitched slightly as he pondered a more feasible solution: "Drought, drought, mainly caused by drought, rice paddies are dried up and unable to produce grain. So, to fundamentally solve the problem, we need water."
Lin Shanshan sighed: "Unfortunately, the spiritual spring water in the space is limited. Although there is a lot, it is like a drop in the ocean in the face of drought."
"When I was in the army, I heard that artificial rainmaking was possible, but unfortunately the cost was too high and the technology is not mature yet."
As soon as Gu Yiye finished speaking, Lin Shanshan hurriedly opened her left hand to see if there was any artificial rainmaking equipment.
There really is one!
"Smack!" Lin Shanshan excitedly kissed Gu Yiye: "Soldier brother, you're so smart!"
Yang Wenqing's space is too big. Lin Shanshan didn't have time to look at it carefully after she took it. She only paid more attention to the food she usually used. Who would have thought that there was a cannon for artificial rainmaking in the space?
If Gu Yiye hadn't reminded us, we would have almost wasted such a great treasure.
Gu Yiye couldn't help himself when Lin Shanshan called him "soldier brother" with such deep emotion. He held his little wife and kissed her passionately until he had to go to the bathroom to take a cold shower!
Sigh! The only thing to blame is that the young wife is too beautiful and too good at flirting.
When Gu Yiye returned from his shower, Lin Shanshan was already fast asleep. That little devil! She made me take a cold shower, but she fell asleep all by herself.
Gu Yiye shook his head helplessly, went to bed, and hugged his wife to sleep.
The next day, after having breakfast, Lin Shanshan went to the hospital with Gu Yiye to visit her grandfather.
The two decided to return to Anfeng Brigade tomorrow, as the weather is currently dry and artificial rainmaking should be done sooner rather than later.
"Grandpa, are you feeling better today?" Lin Shanshan asked caringly as she entered the ward.
Ren Shiyou was very happy to see his granddaughter-in-law caring about him so much, and said, "I'm much better. I slept all night last night and didn't feel any pain. I was starting to wonder if I was even sick anymore."
Gu Yiye said, "Maybe Grandpa's good health scared the cancer cells away!"
Ren Shiyou asked, "You even know such a professional term as cancer cells? That's good."
Gu Yiye said with a proud look, "I learned it from my wife. She told me."
Ren Shiyou laughed heartily: "Good, learn more from your wife. A man can only be good if he listens to his wife."
The two spent the morning chatting with Ren Shiyou, filling the ward with laughter and joy.
As noon approached, Ren Shiyou prepared to have a nutritious meal at the hospital, where there were guards. Gu Yiye and Lin Shanshan said goodbye and went out to find something to eat.
The two were wandering aimlessly down the street, wondering what to eat, when they heard a car horn behind them. Gu Yiye turned around and saw Zhang Wei.
"Old platoon leader, why didn't you let us know you were in Haishi?"
Gu Yiye said, "I came in a hurry and I'm going back tomorrow."
Zhang Wei: "That's perfect. I'll treat you to dinner today. Get in the car first."
After Gu Yiye and Lin Shanshan got into the car, Zhang Wei said, "There's a Western restaurant on the Bund, all that fancy stuff. Shall we go there and try it out? Or should we eat some local Shanghai cuisine?"
Many young people in Shanghai, especially those from wealthy families, consider going to Western restaurants a fashionable trend.
Gu Yiye remembered that when he cooked steak, his wife had mentioned that steak could also be pan-fried, which was quite delicious. He wondered if he should go eat some and see how it was made, then cook it for his wife when he got home.
After all, beef is the only red meat that my wife likes to eat.
Gu Yiye asked Lin Shanshan for her opinion: "Honey, how about we go get some steak?"
Lin Shanshan didn't care. Steak wasn't anything new to her; she had eaten it many times in the underworld. In her opinion, boiled beef and steak were no different. If she really had to choose, boiled beef would taste better.
However, seeing that Gu Yiye seemed quite eager to go, he nodded and said, "Okay."
