"Oh dear, I have three babies here," Liu Nian said, gently stroking her belly. "Please don't hurt me by accident!"
The girl standing behind her laughed out loud, looking at the group of men with a troubled expression.
A group of grown men watched as Liu Nian, heavily pregnant, blocked the doorway, and none of them dared to make a move.
Everyone looked at Zhang Chengdong, "Brother Dong, what do we do?"
Zhang Chengdong had no choice but to beg for mercy, "Girl, please have mercy on me today, okay?"
"Alright, now it's up to you to see how you perform."
Then Liu Nian took out a piece of paper and handed it over.
Zhang Chengdong took it, with his brothers who had followed him through thick and thin behind him, thinking that they would share the hardships together.
But after only one glance, they quickly said they couldn't help.
Zhang Chengdong read aloud the words written on it.
"From this day forward, I, Zhang Chengdong, will only love Yunmo. I'll do the laundry and cooking, I'll serve tea and water. If Yunmo says go east, I won't dare go west. If she asks me to kneel, I'll even have to thoughtfully bring my own washboard..."
"I will hand over my entire salary; I will absolutely not hide a single penny!"
"May I be struck by lightning if I disobey!"
Zhang Chengdong immediately nodded and said, "No problem!" He signed his name without any hesitation.
The group of brothers all showed expressions of admiration.
"Brother Dong, are you going to become a henpecked husband?!"
"You'd better watch out from now on. You made that oath in front of so many of us."
"You really don't leave yourself any way out, I admire you!"
Zhang Chengdong's hand trembled as he signed. To be honest, he wished he could sign several more copies, binding Yunmo tightly so they would never be separated for the rest of their lives.
"Is that alright?" Zhang Chengdong handed it over, his eyes constantly glancing at Yunmo inside the room.
He caught a glimpse of Yunmo through the crack in the door. Yunmo quickly leaned forward as well. Their eyes met through the gap, and they both smiled.
Seeing how impatient the two of them were, Liu Nian quickly stepped aside and said, "Alright, I won't interrupt your good day any longer."
Only then did the group dare to barge in.
Su Xu quickly went to Liu Nian's side and protected her.
Amid cheers from the crowd, Zhang Chengdong picked Yunmo up in his arms. Yunmo smiled and wrapped her arms around his neck.
Su Xu leaned close to Liu Nian's ear and whispered, "When we get home, I'll write one for you too."
"What?" Liu Nian didn't react for a moment.
"A loyalty agreement," Su Xu said. "So, there's no need to envy others."
"What other men can do, I can do too; what they can't do, I can still do."
Liu Nian looked up and found the man looking down at her.
"Mmm!" Liu Nian nodded vigorously, realizing that this man always gave her a sense of security and happiness.
Yunmo was carried out the door by Zhang Chengdong, and a group of people cheered.
The distance from the educated youth settlement to Zhang's house wasn't far, so Zhang Chengdong carried her the whole way from one end of the village to the other, making a huge circle.
He walked with a steady gait and smiled triumphantly, wanting the whole village to know that he had married the woman he had always wanted to marry.
...
After the wedding, everyone ate and drank until evening, when finally the most anticipated part of the evening arrived – the wedding night festivities.
