Chapter 174 What's mine, don't let anyone steal it again.
Before Liu Nian could even respond, the older sister placed her luggage directly on the table and said, "I'm on the upper bunk over there, and this is my ticket."
She handed the ticket to Liu Nian, saying, "Let's switch, I really can't."
The little boy let out a whimper and plopped down on the bed.
Liu Nian scoffed and said, "Did I say I wanted to switch with you?"
As a mother herself, she naturally knew that it was inconvenient to go out with a child, but in this situation, Liu Nianzhen couldn't empathize.
Does this mean you've already assumed you'll agree? Or did you never intend to discuss it with her at all, and are just informing her?
The older woman tightened her grip on the ticket, her face darkening as she said, "You young lady, shouldn't you at least have some compassion? It's inconvenient for me with my child; I can't even climb up to the upper bunk. Please, have some mercy!"
As she spoke, she carelessly placed things on the small table in front of Liu Nian, muttering, "You can't be so heartless."
Isn't this moral blackmail? Liu Nian was not happy about it and sneered, "It's not convenient for me either."
An old man passing by made a sarcastic remark, "Young lady, please do me a favor."
"Exactly, you're so young, getting a bunk bed shouldn't be a problem for you," the older woman said. "I have a child with me."
Liu Nian stood up, put the things she had placed on the table on the ground, and said, "This is my seat, and I don't want to give it up."
"Also, I paid for my train ticket, and the lower berth ticket was even more expensive. I had to ask someone to pay extra for it." Liu Nian glanced at her up and down and said, "I just wanted to make things easier. I didn't want to have to ask someone to switch seats and cause trouble for others."
The older woman looked embarrassed and said, "Of course you have connections, but what about us?"
A tone of grievance.
The child was already sitting in Liu Nian's seat, reaching into Su Feng's cookie box to pick up a cookie and start eating.
"Sigh—" Su Feng wanted to stop her but didn't know how to say it.
"The child is just being silly, so let him eat it," the older woman said apologetically. "Don't take it personally."
Liu Nian, unable to bear it any longer, said, "It's not convenient for us young girls to climb up and down like this. Do you see those grown men? Go and exchange with them, let them donate their love, it's very convenient for them."
In her previous life, Liu Nian had encountered this situation several times. Later, she discovered that the people she asked to switch seats were mostly young girls who were easy to talk to and didn't want to refuse.
Some men lay sprawled out on the lower bunks, looking menacing, and the women didn't dare to speak.
Gu Weizhen jumped down from the upper bunk, landed nimbly on her feet, took the cookie box from the boy's hand, bent her long arm, and handed it to Su Feng, "Here you go."
The child didn't even dare to cry, while the older woman just opened her mouth.
He glanced coldly at the mother and child, then walked straight ahead.
I walked right up to a guy in the lower bunk who was drinking Erguotou (a type of Chinese liquor) and eating a scallion pancake.
Gu Weizhen tapped on his table and said, "Brother, could we change seats? It's inconvenient for them, mother and son."
The older brother looked up, frowning unhappily; he was about to say no.
But looking into Gu Weizhen's sharp eyes, he swallowed hard and said, "Okay, okay."
The older brother reluctantly packed his things, wanting to refuse but not daring to.
"Hurry up." Gu Weizhen stood beside him, clenching her fist.
The knuckles of the fist were clenched, and then a "crunching" sound was heard.
Immediately, the eldest brother sped up and quickly packed his things.
Gu Weizhen turned her head to look at the mother and child in the distance and said, "Come here."
He strolled slowly toward Su Feng, looking utterly dejected. Reaching her, he tapped his fingers on the cookie box and said, "Don't let anyone take your things away."
Su Feng paused for a moment, wondering what this "thing" referred to.
Is it the cookie box in front of me, or Wu Qi?
Su Feng looked up and saw that Gu Weizhen had already climbed onto the upper bunk, with her hands crossed under her head.
His eyes were hidden in the flickering light, but Su Feng could see a glimmer of light in his pupils; he was staring at her intently.
Those eyes blinked, scattering the light and shadow in their pupils even more, before finally drooping and closing their eyes.
Su Feng pursed her lips, becoming even more convinced that this man must have known her for a long time.
But she had no recollection of it at all.
When Su Xu returned from the restroom, unaware of the earlier incident, he held a bowl of hot water in his hand, blew on it, and said, "Want some?"
A water glass was handed to Liu Nian, who took it, and then a loud bang was heard not far away.
It sounded like something had broken, which startled Liu Nian.
Su Xu quickly steadied Liu Nian's hand holding the cup and asked anxiously, "Did you burn yourself?"
Everyone in the carriage looked over.
It was that woman's child who broke the cup.
"How can you look after your child? Touching other people's things without permission, even taking food!" The other person was very angry and shouted so loudly that everyone in the carriage could hear.
The older sister repeated, "He's just a child. Children don't understand things. Why are you arguing with a child?"
"The child is ignorant, but aren't you adults ignorant too?" The woman raised her hand and slapped the child's bottom several times, saying, "You don't know how to discipline children, so I'll discipline them for you!"
Why did you hit my child?!
Then the two started arguing, and the whole carriage craned their necks to look.
Many people on the bus were sleeping, grumbling in dissatisfaction, "Can't a person get any rest?!"
Someone quickly reported the incident to the train conductor, who eventually made the woman pay for the cup and gave her a different seat, thus resolving the matter.
"Sure enough, someone will teach you a lesson," Liu Nian raised an eyebrow.
The little incident passed quickly, and the car continued its bumpy journey. After one night, the car arrived at its final destination—Beijing—the next morning.
As the group packed their things to get off the bus, Su Feng, carrying a biscuit box, stole a glance at Gu Weizhen.
He seemed to sense Su Feng's gaze, turned his head, and stared at Su Feng for a while.
Finally, he sighed, walked over, and said, "Don't you have anything to say to me?"
He then raised his hand, a slip of paper between his index and middle fingers. "Here, take this."
He slipped the note into Su Feng's hand.
Su Feng looked down at the note and the palm of his hand that he had gently touched.
The note had a string of numbers on it.
