Liu Nian pulled Su Xu through the door. Seeing the whole family walking ahead, Su Xu lowered his head and quickly kissed Liu Nian on the cheek.
He kissed me and then ran away without explaining.
Then Su Xu pretended to walk up to Liu Dafa and said, "Dad, I'll have a few drinks with you later."
Liu Nian was both surprised and delighted, covering her face and staring wide-eyed at Su Xu.
Su Xu turned his head and glanced at her.
There was a hint of pride and barely suppressed joy in his eyes. It was so nice to see his little woman protecting him with all her might.
The family had a lively feast. Liu Hua and Zhang Suzhen had been busy all day so that Liu Nian could have a good meal at home.
Three hot dishes, three cold dishes, plus a fruit platter, a whole table full.
In contrast, Liu Xiangxiang seemed particularly unpopular.
Shen Juan was furious. "You didn't even remember to bring anything for your homecoming! Do you still consider me your mother?"
After saying that, she glared at Su Hang with dissatisfaction.
Liu Xiangxiang's brother was also angry. His family was short of food and drink, and he thought that Liu Xiangxiang would bring back some food when she returned home, but there was nothing.
"You son-in-law are so inconsiderate, you don't even know to offer your brother-in-law and father-in-law a pot of wine!"
Su Hang retorted, "What did your family bring as dowry? Do you have the nerve to ask me to bring anything?"
"Get out of here!" Shen Juan's face turned purple with anger.
Su Hang turned and left, "Fine, I'm leaving!"
Standing in the room, Liu Xiangxiang was caught in a dilemma, unsure of what to do. How did her homecoming banquet turn out like this?
"Liu Xiangxiang, are you leaving or not?" Su Hang said arrogantly, "If you don't leave, don't ever set foot in my house again!"
Liu Xiangxiang was also angry. When she returned to her parents' home, her own family hadn't prepared anything. Her husband's family didn't welcome her, and neither did her own family.
She could only wipe away her tears and follow Su Hang out the door.
"Your mother doesn't want me to be her son-in-law. If she wants to find someone better, then go find someone better!" Su Hang mocked Liu Xiangxiang. "But your reputation is ruined, so you won't find anyone better anyway."
Liu Xiangxiang glared at him with red eyes, "How could I have been so blind to have fallen for you!"
She followed Su Hang without any official status back then, and for Su Hang's future, she plotted to make him marry Liu Nian. And what did she get in return? He didn't remember any of her kindness and even used it to ridicule and mock her.
When the two returned home, they were dumbfounded to see the pots and pans piled up all over the yard.
"What's wrong?" Su Hang asked in surprise.
Wang Xiuzhi, carrying her bundle, was panting heavily. "Hurry up and pack, the Jin family wants us to move out."
"Didn't we discuss a plan for Liu Nian and Su Xu to move out?" Liu Xiangxiang looked at Wang Xiuzhi, gesturing in shock, "Why are we all moving out?"
"That bitch Liu Nian!" Wang Xiuzhi sighed helplessly, realizing she had once again shot herself in the foot.
"How could you be so stupid!" Su Zhenye wished he could crack open Wang Xiuzhi's brain to see if it was filled with mush.
He had just gotten home and heard about this when he almost fainted from anger, and he gave Wang Xiuzhi a good scolding.
"The five of us stayed at the educated youth settlement, while Liu Nian and Su Xu stayed in the haunted house." Wang Xiuzhi smiled sarcastically. "I don't know what she was thinking, she actually spent a hundred yuan to buy the land for the haunted house!"
"What?" Liu Xiangxiang was also stunned, then shook her head in disbelief. "Is she possessed by a ghost?"
No one understood Liu Nian's purchase of the land for the haunted house; it even became a laughing stock in Jiangjuntun.
"He probably wants to be the next hanged man!"
