Chapter 55: I won't touch her again! Su Xu swears.
Su Xu quickly shielded Liu Nian, saying, "My wife is trying to save your grandson, don't be ungrateful!"
"That sounds nice, but who knows if your stuff is poisonous! No, Gangzi, have someone keep an eye on her!" the old woman screamed, directing the child's father, who was called Gangzi.
Gangzi's real name is Zheng Gang, and his family has a very powerful background. When he went out to see a doctor for his child, he actually brought almost a whole team of people with him.
“I meant well. Why would I harm your grandson for no reason?” Liu Nian explained.
She could understand it, since they didn't know each other and yet they insisted on putting some unknown substance on the child. If it weren't for that, she wouldn't have had the patience to explain.
We can't just be arrested without asking any questions, can we?
"Can't you wait and see? What if it really works for the child?" Liu Nian said, but no one listened to her at all.
“Okay, Mom, don’t worry.” Zheng Gang frowned and glanced at Liu Nian. “She can’t escape!”
As they spoke, the group was about to charge forward again. Su Xu clenched his fists, tightly protecting Liu Nian behind him.
"Zheng Gang."
An aged yet authoritative voice rang out.
Zheng Gang was overjoyed. It was Chief Wu!
Chief Wu is an upright and incorruptible man, and he can uphold justice for him.
"What are you doing here?" Zheng Gang immediately walked up with a smile on his face, then turned back to glare at Liu Nian, "Commander, this person is trying to harm my son!"
"Look at this! What kind of stuff has been put on my son's face?" Zheng Gang said with heartache as he looked at his child. "It breaks my heart as his father."
"I only have this one grandson, and she's trying to harm my only son!" The child's grandmother pointed at Liu Nian in a very unreasonable manner.
Liu Nian nodded to Chief Wu as a greeting.
Chief Wu glanced at Liu Nian indifferently, then looked at Zheng Gang and said, "But you can't just arrest people like this. Everything should be done reasonably."
“This comrade must have her reasons for doing this. Why would she want to harm your son?” Chief Wu’s cold face was devoid of any smile, which made Zheng Gang’s heart skip a beat.
His image in front of the leader is about to be ruined.
"Oh my, isn't this Nian Nian?" Wu Yanyan walked over from the other side with a smile.
Her face was all smiles, warm and ingratiating, a stark contrast to her previous attitude towards her. She casually took Liu Nian's arm as if they were old friends.
Zheng Gang naturally knew that Wu Yanyan was the daughter of the Wu family, and he was very puzzled as to why she was so attentive to Liu Nian.
They're so close! Did he offend someone? He thought Chief Wu could stand up for him, but he inexplicably offended someone.

She wore a snow-white dress, had her hair tied in a ponytail, and combed up the hair that used to cover her face, revealing a fair and delicate face.
Although there are still some minor traces, it's only a matter of time before they are removed.
Her eyes sparkled, and she came alive. Her face was full of smiles as she gratefully took Liu Nian's hand and said, "Niannian, thank you!"
"You healed my face."
