As she spoke, Liu Nian was about to close the door.
Zhou Han took a step forward, pulled the door shut, and stared at Zhang Sufeng through the crack in the door. "Sufeng, I'm here to bring you something."
The young man, his face flushed and sweating profusely, stared intently at Su Feng.
"Sis, don't close the door yet." Zhou Han hurriedly reached into her pocket, frantically pulled out a pen from her pants pocket, and handed it to her through the crack in the door. "You're studying every day now, you'll need this. This is a prize I received when I went to university, and I've always been reluctant to use it."
Liu Nian looked at Su Feng, who simply shook her head gently. "I can't accept it. Thank you."
After saying that, she immediately turned around and went into the house.
Zhou Han watched her retreating figure, her hand still outstretched, before finally awkwardly withdrawing it.
Liu Nian closed the door and went inside.
Zhang Sufeng was sitting at her desk, staring blankly at the ground.
"Don't worry about what others say." Liu Nian walked over, sat down opposite her, and put her hands on her back, saying, "You can't shut other people up, we have to make sure we live a comfortable life ourselves."
“If you really think Zhou Han is good, it doesn’t count as cheating. After all, you and Wu Qi made things clear and you agreed to compromise.” Liu Nian scoffed. “Does their family really think we’re helpless? That we can just walk away and be gone?”
Zhou Han is a legitimate college student. In the days before the college entrance examination was open, getting into university through recommendations usually meant that one's family had strong connections.
Liu Nian picked up the textbooks that Su Feng had placed on the desk, looked at them, and said, "However, now is the time for you to study. We'll talk about it after you get into university."
"I know." Zhang Sufeng then raised her head and said, "I will explain it to Zhou Han."
Zhang Sufeng looked worried. She was thinking about Wu Qi, wondering if he would stop waiting for her if other girls showed interest in him, and whether he would still choose her firmly.
"Don't worry about it. If you can't figure it out, just stop thinking about it and let time solve everything." Liu Nian placed the textbook in front of Su Feng and said, "Read your book."
Zhang Sufeng took the book, still wondering what Wu Qi would think if he found out about this. Would he think she was a promiscuous woman like Aunt Cui did?
Wu Qi doesn't come to Jiangjuntun often these days, so he might not know.
On Qixi Festival, Wu Qi wanted to surprise Su Feng, so he bought a gift and came to Jiangjuntun excitedly.
As soon as he entered the village, his car was spotted by Aunt Cui.
Aunt Cui rushed out excitedly and reached out to stop the car.
With a screech, Wu Qi stepped on the brakes, his body lurching forward due to inertia, his chest aching from the seatbelt.
Just as he was about to start cursing, Aunt Cui leaned against his car window and said, "You've come to see Su Feng, haven't you?"
"Yes." Wu Qi smiled when Su Feng was mentioned.
Then Aunt Cui chuckled, "Oh, so you still remember her, but whether she remembers you or not is another matter!"
"What do you mean?" Wu Qi hurriedly unbuckled her seatbelt, insisting on getting out of the car to ask her properly.
Aunt Cui spoke with great enthusiasm, "Let me tell you, Su Feng has found someone! She's hooked up with the young man who works as a researcher in the greenhouse, and you're still here gloating? Look back and see if the hat on your head is green enough!"
Wu Qi stood there, gripping the seatbelt tightly. To be honest, his first instinct was disbelief.
Su Feng is not that kind of person.
Aunt Cui had said enough. She straightened up, patted her aching back, and said softly, "These kinds of things are just rumors, but there has to be some truth to them, right?"
Wu Qi rubbed his face blankly.
