Chapter 89: Pulling Her Down, Aunt Cui Gets Arrested (2/2)

"I've saved on transportation costs!" Aunt Cui exclaimed with delight and quickly went to knock on the door.

"Winter is coming, winter is coming! Mom brought you something! Open the door quickly!"

At this moment, Wang Donglai was tied up, and the leader looked fierce. "When I gave it to you, it was real. You turned around and brought me a fake. How are you going to explain this to Mr. Smith?"

The so-called Mr. Smith sat to the side, watching with a sullen face.

So when Wang Donglai heard Aunt Cui's shout, it was like heavenly music. Although he didn't know what was going on.

"My mom brought it! This is really real!" Wang Donglai raised his blood-stained face and cried, "Even if you gave me a thousand lives, I wouldn't dare to keep it for myself!"

The door opened, and Aunt Cui came in carrying a bag. Seeing her son's bruised and swollen face, she ran over, wailing, "Son—!"

The bag in her hand was snatched away, and Aunt Cui's wailing stopped abruptly. She immediately reached out to grab it back, because this thing was very valuable!

As a result, he was stunned when that man slapped him hard across the face.

"Behave yourself!" The man glared at her, and Aunt Cui covered her face, not daring to utter another sound.

After testing, the man exclaimed with delight, "It's real!"

Wang Donglai was filled with doubt. What was going on?

He didn't have time to think about any of this, and before he could even see how the police came in, a group of people had already been pinned to the ground.

Aunt Cui's mind was buzzing. What was going on?

As the police handcuffed her and led her away, Aunt Cui spotted the man straddling the motorcycle.

A scene suddenly flashed through her mind: this man had once come to the village to pick up Liu Nian!

Zheng Zecheng raised an eyebrow at Aunt Cui, meaning that he had already received the fare.

Aunt Cui's face was pale. Could it really be that Liu Nian was behind all of this? She couldn't understand what was going on. Liu Nian couldn't possibly have such connections!

Because of his meritorious report, the government awarded Zheng Zecheng a commendation. Zheng Zecheng stood on the stage with a big red flower on his face, feeling awkward no matter what.

His gang of buddies sat on the ground, chuckling. He glared at them angrily, when suddenly he spotted a figure.

A man in a white shirt and black trousers, standing upright and prim, was quietly watching him from a distance.

Zheng Zecheng was in a daze for a moment, and suddenly remembered the past. As he thought about it, he felt a lump in his throat.

He blinked and looked again, but the person was gone, as if they had never been there at all.

Wu Qianli had just finished work and was walking out of the hospital when she heard the roar of a motorcycle in the distance. The sound grew closer and sharper, making her eardrums throb and her head spin.

Wu Qianli held her breath.

The man had a large scar on his head, which he had sustained for her. Wu Qianli stood motionless on the steps, watching him rush towards her on his motorcycle.

Zheng Zecheng tossed something into Wu Qianli's arms. The car sped past her, the air currents whipping up her clothes and hair, causing Wu Qianli to involuntarily take a few steps forward.

It seems that when he threw something, his hand touched her arm, which was burning hot.

Wu Qianli gently touched the spot with her hand, but her thumb gradually increased the pressure, scratching and rubbing until a layer of skin and flesh was peeled off, revealing a bloody mark, before she stopped.

She wanted to remember this feeling. Wu Qianli felt that she was sick, and that she had a kind of masochistic pleasure.

Holding the things the man had thrown to her, Wu Qianli opened them and took a look.

It was a white dress.

"When will you wear a dress for me?" Wu Qianli suddenly remembered that sentence.

She put the clothes in the bag and stared blankly at the spot where Zheng Zecheng had disappeared.

...

When news of Aunt Cui and Wang Donglai reached the village, everyone was talking about it.

"Reselling cultural relics is punishable by death!"

"You're really brave!"

"Without Aunt Cui in this village, there will be far fewer troubles. She's always stirring up trouble!"

A group of women gathered at the construction site, chatting whenever they had nothing to do and lending a helping hand whenever needed. Liu Nian would always offer something in return, giving them a little something in return, which is why they all liked to come, and that's how they started chatting.

Liu Nian sat to one side without saying a word; she didn't want anyone to know that all of this was her plan.

So the credit for the report went to Zheng Zecheng. After all, she was still in Jiangjuntun. Although Aunt Cui was in jail, she still had her husband and other children. If they held a grudge, as the saying goes, petty people are hard to deal with, and it would cause a lot of trouble for no reason.

As she was thinking this, someone suddenly patted her on the shoulder.

Liu Nian glanced sideways. Was it her?
