Chapter 217 The Great Little Girl

She opened the notebook to the first page, where four characters were written in bright red pen.

Shangguan Qixue.

That must be the little girl's name.

It's a very nice-sounding name.

Then turn to the second page.

The song was listed above, but in Liu Ye's opinion, both the title and the lyrics seemed very ordinary, even somewhat childish.

Compared to the songs written by Xiao Weiguo, they are incomparable.

Then, turning to the third page, Liu Ye's brows furrowed slightly.

It's a very ordinary song, and even Liu Ye doesn't think much of the lyrics. Even if she gave it to Zhou Ruolan to sing, it would be difficult for her to achieve any success.

For about ten pages in a row, there were lyrics at a middle school level, and not a single one was outstanding.

It seemed that this poor child really didn't have any talent in this area, and Liu Ye began to feel a little disappointed.

The couple's hearts sank as they looked at Liu Ye's expression.

They understood that a big star like Zhou Ruolan wouldn't appreciate just anyone writing lyrics for her.

They were illiterate and didn't know if their daughter had the ability; they could only judge whether the song was satisfactory from Liu Ye's expression.

When they saw Liu Ye's brows furrowing repeatedly, they knew there was probably no hope. Such a big star wouldn't indulge their childish antics.

When Liu Ye turned to the last page with a feeling of disappointment.

This piece of paper bears Shangguan Xue'er's last handwriting, but the lyrics on it are no longer childish.

Instead, it was a neatly written passage in red fountain pen.

Dear Stranger

Whoever sees this, I beg you, please don't let my parents know what it says.

I like Teacher Zhou; her songs have reduced much of my pain from my illness.

But I know what illness I have, and I understand that I will never have the chance to see Teacher Zhou again in this lifetime.

I can't write lyrics either; the ones before that were just made up. Please forgive me.

The reason I did this is because of my parents.

They only had me as their child, and they poured everything into me. Moreover, my illness drained all their money. I heard them humbly begging relatives for money.

I've also heard them weeping silently in the dead of night.

I understand that if I leave, they won't even have the courage to live another day.

So I lied to them, telling them they must give these songs to Teacher Zhou to sing. They might never find Teacher Zhou in their lifetime, and this was the only way I could think of to keep them going.

So, dear stranger, please help me keep this a secret.

This is my parents' only motivation and hope to keep living.

Shangguan Qixue

Thank you!

Upon seeing this, Liu Ye quickly covered her mouth, trying her best not to make a sound.

However, she could not stop the tears streaming down her face.

She thought it was a child's last dream before he died, but she never imagined it was all the child's kindness.

Instead of trying to buy herself more time to live in the final moments of her life, she used every means she could for the rest of her life to keep her parents' hope alive.

A black and white photograph fell out of the notebook's plastic cover and fluttered to the ground.

Liu Ye bent down and picked it up.

The photo shows a girl of about thirteen or fourteen years old. She has two long braids, a smile on her pretty face, and her big, clear eyes are fixed on the willow leaves.

"Girl, what's wrong?"

The man's voice rang out again.

The woman spoke for the first time.

"This is a picture of my daughter, Xiaoxue. What a wonderful child..."

Liu Ye hurriedly wiped away her tears and tried to force a smile.

"Uncle, Auntie, it's nothing. I was just moved by the song the child wrote. It's so well written."

Hearing her say that, the couple were both surprised and delighted. Judging from their expressions just now, they thought this beautiful woman looked down on what their child had written.

"real?"

The woman pressed for an answer.

Liu Ye nodded vigorously.

"That's great, that's wonderful."

The couple looked at each other, and a smile finally appeared on their faces.

Perhaps this is the only good news they've heard in all these days.

"Young lady, could you please give this to Teacher Zhou for us?"

The man, filled with excitement, tentatively asked.

Liu Ye nodded again.

"Don't worry, as soon as Teacher Zhou comes back, I'll hand it over to her and make sure she can sing these songs."

"Thank you, thank you!"

The two bowed repeatedly to express their gratitude to Liu Ye.

"Uncle, Auntie, you don't need to do this. Just wait and listen carefully as Teacher Zhou sings your daughter's song, you must."

Liu Ye did not forget the children's purpose and continued to give them hope and expectation, allowing them to continue to have the motivation to live.

"Okay, okay, we'll wait and wait."

Tears welled in their eyes. They supported each other and nodded repeatedly.

"Xiao Zhao, go upstairs and call two staff members down."

She turned around and called to her female driver.

Xiao Zhao responded and went inside, heading to the sixth floor.

"Uncle, I'll have someone arrange for you to stay first. I'll let you know when Teacher Zhou has the results, okay?"

"Okay, thank you, thank you, you're such a kind person."

The couple kept thanking her. In their eyes, Liu Ye was practically a living saint who saved them from suffering.
