Chapter 135 A Terrifying Night on the National Highway!

Upon smelling the pungent stench of blood on Zhang Cheng, the expressions of the group all changed.

Zhang Cheng looked at Zhang Jianhao: "Where are the keys to the clothing store?"

"No. Big-Head Bro has it!"

"Go and call him here, and get the key."

"good!"

A dozen minutes later, Zhang Jianhao and Zhang Danao arrived.

On the way, Zhang Jianhao had already given a general account of what had happened.

"Er Gouzi..." Zhang Da Nao had just opened his mouth.

"Open the door first," Zhang Cheng interrupted him.

“Okay!” Zhang Da Nao pulled out his keys and opened the shop door.

Entering the clothing store, Zhang Cheng casually picked out a clean set of clothes, took off his blood-stained cotton-padded jacket, and threw it to Zhang Jianhao: "Take this and burn it."

"Um."

“Qiming, Weibing,” Zhang Cheng turned to the other two, his eyes filled with complex emotions. He stuffed all the cash he had on him into Li Qiming’s hands and said in a low voice, “Take Shengzi and go back to the village tonight.”

"Remember, give him a grand funeral. Tell Uncle and Aunt that Shengzi's parents will be our parents from now on. I've got this in mind."

"Brother!" Li Qiming gritted his teeth, his eyes red-rimmed.

"Go quickly!"

"Um!"

Zhang Cheng walked out of the clothing store and his gaze fell on the driver's seat of the Santana.

Zhang Tian kept peeking around, and when he met Zhang Cheng's gaze, he quickly opened the car door and got out, his voice trembling slightly:

"Mr. Zhang, what... what do we do now?"

"Call the police."

"Huh?" Zhang Tian's expression froze.

Zhang Cheng said expressionlessly, "We were robbed on the national highway, shouldn't we have called the police?"

"But, but..."

"Smack!"

Zhang Cheng raised his right hand and slapped Zhang Tian hard on the shoulder, interrupting him: "Remember, we risked our lives to escape."

"Let's go to the police station."

"Oh, oh oh!"

Nanyang Street Police Station.

The police officer on duty, Xiao Xing, was wrapped in a cotton-padded coat and dozing off.

Two blinding beams of headlights suddenly shone in from outside, startling him awake.

"What's going on?" Xiao Xing muttered as he got up and walked towards the door.

A large truck and two Santana cars were parked outside the police station.

"Brother Zhang?" Xiao Xing was slightly taken aback when he saw Zhang Cheng getting out of the Santana, then smiled and went to greet him.

Zhang Cheng, still looking shaken, said, "Officer, we've come to call the police!"

"Huh?" Xiao Xing blinked, then immediately became serious. "Then come with me into the office quickly and register first!"

Zhao Daming was awakened from his deep sleep by the vibration of his pager.

He grabbed the caller ID, glanced at it, and quickly threw off the covers and got out of bed.

"Where are you going so late?" Li Ailian asked groggily.

“They’re from the institute, they must have something to say. I’ll go check it out.”

"Then be careful on the road."

"Um."

Zhao Daming got dressed and stepped out of the house, involuntarily shrugging his neck. It was a really cold day.

A dozen minutes later, he arrived at the police station.

As soon as he entered, Xiao Xing rushed up to him anxiously: "Chief, something terrible has happened!"

"What important matter?"

"Someone's dead! And it's related to Brother Zhang!"

"Brother Zhang? Zhang Cheng?" Zhao Daming's eyes sharpened, and his expression turned serious. "Where is Zhang Cheng?"

"In the duty room. Oh, right, this is the statement we just took from Brother Zhang." Xiao Xing handed over the statement.

Zhao Daming didn't rush to find Zhang Cheng; he first opened the transcript and read it carefully.

After a long pause, he took a deep breath, a bitter smile appeared on his face, he shook his head, and walked towards the duty room.

As soon as I entered the duty room, I saw Zhang Cheng about to get up.

Zhao Daming strode forward and waved his hand, saying, "Sit down and let's talk."

Zhang Cheng looked apologetic: "Brother, I've caused you trouble again."

Zhao Daming sat down opposite him and sized him up:

“What do you mean by causing me trouble? You are the victim.” He paused, his tone unchanged, “Tell me what’s not in the statement.”
