The tiger comfortably rolled over, belly up.
It stinks!
The stench was even stronger now that they were so close. Zhang Cheng forced himself to endure the discomfort and kept his eyes fixed on the tiger.
"Yangyang, can't you smell this strange odor on it?"
"I can smell it." Shi Yangyang looked up, somewhat puzzled. "Aren't all tigers like that?"
Zhang Cheng shook his head: "No, this isn't the stench of ordinary wild animals, it smells like... the smell of a dead person."
Shi Yangyang's expression changed slightly. She raised her hand, smelled it, and frowned. "It seems a little different." She went to the stream to wash her hands.
After washing her hands and returning, she asked, "Zhang Cheng, should we wait for my younger sister to wake up?"
"Hmm." Zhang Cheng nodded. He couldn't sleep until he figured out the source of the smell.
The two found a rock by the stream and sat down.
More than an hour later, the tiger opened its eyes, growled at Shi Yangyang, lazily stood up, shook its fur, and walked into the depths of the forest.
Zhang Cheng immediately pulled Shi Yangyang up and followed.
The tiger seemed to have no particular purpose, just wandering aimlessly through the forest.
Zhang Cheng suddenly realized that the stench emanating from the animal was so strong that it had probably impaired its sense of smell, making it difficult to hunt, which was why it was always wandering around the village.
More than half an hour later, the tiger walked to the edge of a cliff and suddenly let out a series of angry roars at the bottom of the cliff, its eyes wide open.
Zhang Cheng looked up, and the faint stench in the air seemed to be drifting in from below the cliff.
The tiger roared a few times, then turned and left.
"Zhang Cheng, your older sister is gone." Shi Yangyang tugged at Zhang Cheng, who was still standing there.
"Wait for me here." Zhang Cheng ran quickly to the edge of the cliff and peered down.
Below the cliff is a mountain stream, the bottom of which can be seen at a glance.
"The smell is coming from down below..." Zhang Cheng squinted, thought for a moment, then turned to Shi Yangyang, "Let's go down the cliff and take a look!"
It takes two or three hours to walk around to the bottom of the cliff.
Zhang Cheng held Shi Yangyang's hand, not in a hurry, treating it as accompanying his wife on a spring outing.
More than two hours later, the two finally arrived at the stream at the bottom of the cliff.
Zhang Cheng looked up at the steep rock wall and suddenly his pupils contracted.
On a rock wall seven or eight meters high, there is a cave entrance that has collapsed halfway.
Zhang Cheng looked at Shi Yangyang and said, "You wait here for me, I'll go upstairs and take a look!"
"Be careful!"
"Don't worry, I'll run faster than anyone else if there's any danger!" Zhang Cheng grinned.
Old, grayish-brown vines were wrapped around the stone wall. Zhang Cheng tugged at them to make sure they were secure, then carefully climbed up the vines.
He quickly climbed to the cave entrance.
A strong, nauseating stench of corpses wafted from the cave, nearly making Zhang Cheng vomit up his lunch.
His face was ashen, and his eyes flashed with a cold light.
"Damn it, how many corpses are buried in here?"
