Chapter 2 Let's Get a Divorce (Part Two)

As expected, men are all thick-skinned; Wei Mingshen started snoring as soon as he lay down, while Su Xueli didn't sleep a wink all night.

She was planning her future. Having been given a second chance at life, she would no longer fawn over Zhou Mingshen like she did in her previous life, enduring a lifetime of humiliation and being despised and scorned by him. Instead, she would live a vibrant and beautiful life, one that Zhou Mingshen could never reach.

How can a woman live a vibrant, beautiful, and unattainable life for men? Only by making money, making money, and making money!

Having been given a second chance at life, she's determined to be richer than this scoundrel!

Thinking of this, she gritted her teeth at the person next to her.

When Wei Mingshen woke up in the morning, he was full of energy, a stark contrast to his lifeless appearance as a groom yesterday.

Su Xueli, who hadn't slept all night, had swollen eyes, looked listless, and yawned constantly.

But when Cao Maizi saw her daughter-in-law like this during dinner, she was overjoyed. Her son had really tormented her last night. Good, good, it would be best if she could sit up in bed and have a happy ending.

When I have a child, it would be best if it were a boy, so that my son would settle down.

Looking at my son, he was very happy, eating and drinking heartily. The two of them had a great time last night!

We were worried he wouldn't touch her, but it seems we were overthinking it!

However, there was one person whose face was full of anger; she was Wei Mingshen's younger sister, Wei Mingyue.

She was determined to marry into a higher social class and wanted her brother to marry Lin Meizhi, the daughter of the town's Party Secretary. Lin Meizhi had promised her that if she married her brother, she would use her connections to get Wei Mingyue a substitute teacher in the village, and then help her get a permanent position.

But her parents cruelly separated the couple, breaking up their beautiful marriage and shattering her dreams. She was filled with resentment.

So when she got up and saw Su Xueli, she put on a sour face, wanting her to know that not only her brother disliked her, but her sister-in-law also disliked her.

But seeing her brother's radiant face, she felt like she'd swallowed a fly. Surely he wouldn't just give in like that and live a peaceful life with her like that?

In her previous life, Su Xueli was not only filial to Wei Mingshen's parents, but also tried her best to please her sister-in-law, washing her clothes, including her underwear and smelly socks.

He took on all the heavy and tiring work for her, and even gave her the jade bracelet that was part of his dowry.

That jade bracelet was left to my mother by my maternal grandmother, and my mother gave it to her as part of her wedding dowry.

She later learned that the bracelet was an imperial green Burmese jadeite bracelet, worth tens of millions.

In this life, Su Xueli ignored her completely and turned a blind eye to her sour face.

Wei Mingyue, having nowhere to vent her anger, kicked the cat in the house away.

The elderly couple's minds were all on their daughter-in-law, while the groom was lost in his daydreams, ignoring everyone else.

At the dinner table, Cao Maizi said with a smile, "Xueli, this is your own home from now on. Don't act like a guest. Tell your mother what you want to eat, and tell her what you don't want to eat either, and your mother will know what to cook."

Su Xueli quickly smiled and said, "I know, Mother, I don't have any dietary restrictions."

He picked up the bowl of porridge and started drinking.

Wei Mingyue nearly popped her eyes out.

There are many formalities involved in rural weddings. The new bride has to kowtow to her husband's ancestors on the second day and then go to the neighboring houses of her husband's family to learn the way. By the time Su Xueli finished learning the way to each house, it was already half the morning, and she was exhausted when she got home.

Because she was about to become a stranger to him, Wei Mingshen no longer harbored any hostility towards her and even found her quite pleasant to look at.
