Chapter 61 You're Such a Heartless Woman (Part 1)

Su Xueli felt a pang of sadness. If you had shown me even the slightest bit of care in my past life, I wouldn't be dying without a single beautiful memory.

"By the way, didn't your sister just remind you to reply to Lin Meizhi? Have you finished writing it?" She changed the subject.

“Write it down. I’ll let you write it down when we get back.”

Su Xueli refused: "I won't watch. You two are pouring your hearts out to each other, and I'll just be a third wheel."

Wei Mingshen said, "What do you mean by 'confessing our hearts' to each other? Would you even watch us confide in each other? I'm just explaining our agreement to her so that she won't have any improper contact with me during this period."

Su Xueli had to praise him, "You have a great sense of propriety."

Winter days are short; darkness falls quickly, and the red glow of the setting sun is soon covered by the blue twilight, blurring the surrounding scenery.

Wei Mingshen took her hand and said, "It's getting dark and cold. Let me pull you along quickly."

Su Xueli's icy hand went numb when his warm hand touched hers, and her heart ached.

In her past life, she longed for him to hold her hand, but it was all just wishful thinking.

That time, she had just given birth and was lying weakly in bed. When she saw him come in, she immediately burst into tears.

She struggled to raise her hand, trying to pull him to her side.

But he didn't even look at her; he just bent down to look at the baby in the midwife's arms, asked about her condition, and then left.

Her hand froze in mid-air.

"Your hands are so cold, like ice cubes." He squeezed her hand and looked at her.

"Why are you spacing out again? What are you thinking about?" he asked with a smile.

Su Xueli stared blankly ahead and said, "Thinking about my past life."

"Haha! So what came to mind?" He found it amusing.

Su Xueli didn't say anything more; she had nothing to say to him.

"Looks like you didn't have me in your past life, so you never shared anything with me," he joked.

Su Xueli smiled sadly, "It's so much better without you!"

When the two arrived home, it was already dark. Cao Maizi had prepared dinner, and the whole family was sitting in the kitchen waiting for the young couple.

After dinner, Wei Mingshen closed the door, took out paper and pen, and said, "I'll write the letter now. Do you want to read it now or after I've finished writing it?"

Su Xueli sat down, picked up the straw, and said, "I won't look at it anytime. You already said what to write, I know."

Wei Mingshen smiled, his eyes narrowing. "You trust me that much? Looks like my character is still top-notch."

Su Xueli thought to herself: I've accumulated enough disappointment!

Wei Mingshen quickly finished writing it and brought it over for her to look at. He said, "You should still take a look. Don't suspect that I've included my own agenda in it."

Su Xueli didn't even look up. "Take it away. Do you think your business with her is more important than my straw weaving?"

Wei Mingshen's eyes suddenly darkened, and he pulled back, saying, "I was just being presumptuous."

Su Xueli glanced at him, and his back, which had turned away, looked rather forlorn.

Without realizing it, a smile tugged at the corner of her mouth.

"What should I do now?" He sat down next to her.

Su Xueli said, "Cut the thatch, and then color it after I've woven a set."

Wei Mingshen picked up the scissors and the thatch. Pieces of thatch fell to the ground, and neat sections of thatch were placed at Su Xueli's feet.

"Hey, why aren't you saying anything?" Su Xueli sensed that he had been silent for too long.

Wei Mingshen didn't speak; all that could be heard was the sound of his hands cutting thatch, "snap, snip"...

"What's wrong? What did I do to offend you?" Su Xueli asked him cautiously.
