Chapter Thirty-Three Zhou Daya

Tao Ying looked at Liu Jing. Of course, Liu Jing should make the decision on this matter. It doesn't matter whether it works out or not, meeting is fine.

"I mainly don't want to meet my mother. My sister-in-law and her family introduced me to this person, and they only care about the conditions." Liu Jing really thought so.

"I'll tell my mom when I get home tonight," Liu Jing said firmly.

"I didn't expect my second son to be so popular," Tao Ying joked.

"Then I'm still basking in your glory, sister," Tian Fang joked.

"But Xiaojing, being a colleague is different from being a daughter-in-law. Don't be fooled by how well I treat you now. If I really end up with my second son, I might start to bully you." Tao Ying deliberately looked at Liu Jing fiercely.

"Then you can kick me out too," Liu Jing said nonchalantly.

"You silly child." Tao Ying couldn't help but laugh out loud.

Tao Ying didn't take Liu Jing's words to heart.

At that time, the aesthetic of a weak and scholarly man was still popular, and Wang Baomin was not much like that.

Furthermore, Liu Jing's parents would never agree.

When Wang Baomin arrived at his shift, he first went to haul goods. After hauling the goods back, there wasn't much to do, so he told the team leader and went to the village without even having lunch.

When we arrived in the village, it was around one o'clock in the afternoon. Old lady Zhou Daya was sitting at the entrance of the village chatting with a group of old men and women.

"Second sister-in-law, is that your Baomin?" An old woman rubbed her cloudy eyes and asked softly.

“Impossible. My second grandson works in the city. What would he be doing here?” Zhou Daya said without even looking at him.

When the eyeballs were alive, no one could remember them. Now that the eyeballs are gone, and only the eye sockets are left, how can they remember them?

"Second sister-in-law, it really is Baomin!" The old lady patted Zhou Daya's arm excitedly.

"Grandma." Wang Baomin came by minibus, mainly because he needed to take the old man and the old woman back with him.

Of course, Wang Baomin didn't come empty-handed; he bought two jin of biscuits from the supply and marketing cooperative and brought them with him.

"Why are you here? Did your mom send you?" Zhou Daya's heart skipped a beat. If it weren't for the fact that everyone present was an old friend she would run away from every day, she would have wanted to run away.

He's obviously up to no good. He's only been back for a few days.

"Yes, Grandma, my mom said that now that it's the off-season for farming, she'll take you and Grandpa to stay in the city for a while," Li Baomin said cheerfully.

"Second sister-in-law, you're so lucky! Not only is Guiying filial, but your eldest daughter-in-law is too. Why didn't you want to go before?" The old friend standing next to her couldn't help but feel envious.

Zhou Daya kept the Wang family's situation a secret, and Tao Ying's parents were good at handling people, so no one really knew that Wang Dazhu was essentially marrying into the family, nor did anyone know that Zhou Daya was afraid of Tao Ying.

“I don’t want to go. The city isn’t as spacious as home. I won’t know anyone there, everything will cost money, and I won’t even have anyone to chat with.” Zhou Daya tried hard to keep her composure after hearing what her old friend said, not wanting to show her fear.

"Grandma, you won't be gone for long. Just think of it as a stroll. It's convenient to buy food in the city, isn't it?" Li Baomin continued to persuade her.

"Yes, second sister-in-law, the city is no better than the countryside. If your child is filial, then go for it." An old man said, showing filial piety.

In his heart, he thought that Zhou Daya was being pretentious. Who wouldn't want to go to the city to enjoy a life of luxury, without having to do any work or heat the kang (a traditional heated bed)?

“What will happen to the pigs, chickens and ducks if I leave? I’d rather have your grandpa go than me.” Although everyone envied Zhou Daya and she was very proud, it did not corrupt her vigilance.

“That’s hardly any work, your Chunli can do it all,” another old lady couldn’t help but say.

"Grandma, my mom said that if you don't go, she'll come and invite you herself." Li Baomin immediately unleashed his ultimate move.

"You bunch of debt collectors, you just can't stand to see me have a few days of peace. What's the point of you going around all day?" Zhou Daya's expression changed instantly, and she picked up a small stool while cursing.

"Grandma, I'll take it." Li Baomin secretly breathed a sigh of relief, not expecting that his mother's name was so useful.

"If you don't take it, who will? Do you expect me, the god of heaven, to take it?" Zhou Daya cursed and slammed the stool down.

"That old Mrs. Zhou is so ungrateful. If my child were this filial, I'd be laughing in my grave," an old woman said enviously, watching the two figures walk away.

When Zhou Daya brought Wang Baomin to her home, the whole family was home.

"Baomin, what brings you here? Have you eaten? Your second aunt will get you some food." Li Guiying was quite surprised to see Wang Baomin.

"Second Aunt, I'm not eating anymore. I'm here to pick up my grandpa and grandma. My mom said there's not much work to do in the fields right now, so she wants to take my grandpa and grandma to stay for a few days. Yesterday, someone even tried to introduce my mom to a potential partner, but she beat him up and kicked him out. So my mom is thinking of having my grandma keep an eye on things." Wang Baomin quickly explained his purpose.

"Isn't that insulting? How can your grandma beat them? I'll go with you instead, and I'll scratch her face until it's covered in bruises." Li Guiying rolled up her sleeves angrily, ready to start a fight immediately.

“Yes, take me with you.” Before Wang Baomin could speak, a sixteen-year-old girl immediately chimed in.

“Yes, yes, your second aunt and Chunli can go. I’m as strong as an ox, I can’t beat anyone.” Zhou Daya quickly chimed in.

“Yes, yes, the second son’s wife and Chunli will go, and Dashuan can come along too. Your mother and I will look after things at home, and you don’t need to worry about Baohe.” Old Master Wang nodded from the side.

I have a feeling that the eldest son's wife is holding back something.

The eldest son is gone, and even if his wife wants to remarry, there's nothing he can do about it. Her children are all grown up, and she didn't build the family fortune herself.

"Guiying, your sister-in-law sent Mom and Dad, not us. It's not good for you to go so rashly." Wang Dashuan secretly wiped his sweat.

I still think my wife is too fierce and my daughter is too unruly.

"What's wrong with that? My sister-in-law wouldn't let me go hungry, would she?" Li Guiying said nonchalantly.

"Second Aunt, you all go. My mom even had my sister clean out her room. Chunli, go help Grandma pack her things." Li Baomin didn't care whether his second uncle and aunt went or not; his grandparents had to go anyway, as his mother had instructed.

“Your second aunt can go,” Zhou Daya quickly said.

"Grandma, you want my mom to come pick you up, right?" Li Baomin used his trump card again.

"Yes, yes, old woman, you take Guiying and Chunli to stay in the city for a few days. Don't worry about things at home." Old Master Wang thought that with his old arms and legs, he shouldn't go through all that trouble.

"Husband, is that even human language you're talking about?" Zhou Daya looked at Old Master Wang in disbelief.

That old codger just wants to die faster than he can.

"I don't care if we go together or nobody goes." Zhou Daya simply gave up, thinking that the old man shouldn't even think about enjoying his retirement at home.

"Maybe I should have my mom do it," Li Baomin said, taking the opportunity to add more water to the vat.
