Xu Xinchen fell and hurt herself, and her eyes unconsciously filled with disgust as she looked at those people.
The man who had just shoved Xu Xinchen stepped forward again, as if to kick her. Xu Xinchen's eyes flashed, and she was about to roll away when the man next to her pulled him back.
The man, with a cautious expression, pulled the man who was about to kick Xu Xinchen aside and whispered, "Don't kick him. If you really hurt or kill him, we won't be able to explain it to the boss."
Xu Xinchen couldn't hear what he was saying, but she could hear the man who was about to kick her look at her and curse, "Bad luck."
Then, the two men threw the blindfold in front of her and turned to leave. Watching them leave, Xu Xinchen finally breathed a sigh of relief.
In any case, with those two people not here, her safety is more assured, and at least she is no longer in danger of getting hurt.
After calming down, Xu Xinchen turned her head and looked around the room. The room had white walls on all four sides, and a locked window next to her. There was nothing else there.
After looking around, Xu Xinchen had a better understanding of her current situation. She let out a soft breath, forcing herself to suppress her panic and calm down.
There's nothing we can do right now anyway, and panicking will only make things worse and won't help at all. We might as well calm down and wait for the "boss" they've been talking about to appear.
Xu Xinchen had been alone in her room for a long time, so long that she felt she was about to fall asleep, when she heard sounds coming from outside.
A burst of noise ensued.
Indistinct voices drifted into the room. Xu Xinchen frowned, turned over so that her face was facing the wall, closed her eyes, and pretended to be asleep.
The door was pushed open, and the sound of high heels on the floor reached Xu Xinchen's ears. She blinked, wanting to open her eyes, but quickly suppressed the thought.
"Did she cry or make a fuss?" a seductive-sounding female voice asked.
Xu Xinchen remained calm. It was indeed the woman who had inexplicably appeared yesterday. She just didn't know what the woman was planning to do.
The man who stopped Xu Xinchen from being kicked this afternoon spoke up: "No, she's quite well-behaved. Apart from shouting a few times when she first woke up, she's been very quiet the rest of the time."
"Oh, is that so?" The woman sounded quite surprised. "She seems to know what's good for her. I thought she would scream like the others."
The man chuckled softly, his tone sounding somewhat relieved: "Luckily, she's a pragmatic person, otherwise we would have had to take action against her, and that would have made things awkward for everyone."
Xu Xinchen's originally extremely calm state of mind was slightly disturbed. In the afternoon, the man not only pushed her but also tried to kick her. Wasn't that considered assaulting her?
The woman couldn't hear what Xu Xingchen was saying in her mind. After listening to what the man said, the woman smiled and said, "You did a good job. Remember not to hurt her, otherwise we won't be able to negotiate with Chen Ningsheng."
"I understand, Sister Hua. We will be very careful."
The woman called Sister Hua sounded very satisfied: "Alright, let's go out then. After this woman wakes up, you should get her some food and drink and take good care of her. We can't let her die here, nor can we let her have any serious injuries."
After Sister Hua finished speaking, the two of them went out. Xu Xinchen opened her eyes and stared at the wall in front of her. It seemed that Sister Hua had kidnapped her to target Chen Ningsheng. She wondered what they wanted to negotiate with Chen Ningsheng.
On one side, Xu Xinchen was trapped in the room by Sister Hua and her group, while on the other side, Chen Ningsheng had been frantic ever since he woke up and couldn't find Xu Xinchen.
Chen Ningsheng remained in the villa where he lived with Xu Xinchen, his eyes coldly fixed on the bodyguards standing in front of him: "Haven't you found her yet?"
The bodyguards looked extremely guilty: "President, we haven't found it yet."
Chen Ningsheng frowned deeply, suppressing his anger, and coldly questioned, "How could you not find her? Have you asked everyone in the neighborhood? Someone should have seen her."
One of the bodyguards stepped forward, a helpless expression on his face: "We've already asked around, and quite a few people in the neighborhood have indeed seen Madam, but they all said that after she finished speaking with them, she left the neighborhood and went outside."
“We went outside the community and asked around. One of the breakfast stall owners saw Madam. She bought breakfast from him and then left. Judging from the direction she was coming, she came this way.”
After listening to the bodyguards' report, Chen Ningsheng frowned deeply. It seemed to be a premeditated kidnapping. The place where they made their move should be on the road from the breakfast shop to the residential area.
The thought of Xu Xinchen falling into their hands, not knowing what their purpose was, and what might happen to her, made Chen Ningsheng feel as if his heart was being fried in oil, causing him unbearable torment.
He stood up, his tone resolute: "Send more people to search. Ask every resident in that area to see if anyone has seen the Madam."
The bodyguards nodded and turned to leave. Chen Ningsheng made no move; he stayed home, sitting by the phone, waiting for reports from others, and…
His lips pressed tightly together, and a murderous glint flashed in Chen Ningsheng's eyes. He had a gut feeling that this kidnapping was aimed at him.
Although Xu Xinchen couldn't see the situation outside with her own eyes, she could guess that Chen Ningsheng must have already sent people to look for her.
She sat up straight, feeling the hunger pangs in her stomach, and called out to the people outside, "Is anyone out there? Could you bring me some food? I'm hungry."
She had barely finished speaking when footsteps approached, and the woman who had gone to see Xu Xinchen yesterday entered.
Xu Xinchen stared cautiously at the woman called Sister Hua, a hint of panic flashing through her mind, but she concealed it well on the surface, seemingly not taking the woman seriously at all.
