Chapter 237

When Sister Hua saw that Xu Xinchen showed no surprise at all upon seeing her, she herself looked slightly astonished: "Why don't you seem surprised at all that you saw me?"

Xu Xinchen nodded slightly, her face showing no concern, but only she knew that she was almost frantic inside: "When she came to see me yesterday, I felt that you were hostile towards me, so isn't it normal for this to happen today?"

Sister Hua's eyes were filled with laughter as she spoke, but her words were extremely unpleasant: "It seems you're quite intelligent. No wonder Chen Ningsheng is willing to treat you like a caged bird."

Canary? Upon hearing these unpleasant words, Xu Xinchen frowned, and a crack appeared on her usually calm face: "What nonsense are you spouting?"

Sister Hua looked quite pleased: "What? Are you feeling guilty now that I've exposed your identity?"

Xu Xinchen couldn't hold back any longer. Her eyes were filled with anger as she looked at Sister Hua: "What nonsense are you talking about? My relationship with Chen Ningsheng is normal. There is no such thing as being kept like a caged bird."

A hint of disdain flashed in Sister Hua's eyes: "Alright, stop pretending in front of me. We're the same kind of people, who can't see through whom?"

Without giving Xu Xinchen a chance to reply, Sister Hua continued, "What did I just hear you say? You said you were hungry, right? I'll have someone bring you some food right away, but remember you have to cooperate with our operation. Don't even think about escaping from here, and don't even think about anyone coming to rescue you."

Xu Xinchen didn't reply, but just stared straight at Sister Hua. Sister Hua seemed a little flustered by Xu Xinchen's gaze. She took a step forward and reached out to lift Xu Xinchen's chin.

"You're already in our hands, so don't even think about anyone coming to rescue you. Just cooperate with us and you won't suffer too much."

Xu Xinchen's chin was pinched painfully by Sister Hua's long nails. Without even looking, she knew that there were at least two bloody marks on her chin.

Not getting a response from Xu Xinchen, Sister Hua seemed a little angry: "Lu Minshi! Don't you understand what I'm saying? I told you to behave yourself, did you hear me?"

Xu Xinchen's eyes looked extremely cold: "I'm already tied up like this, do you think I have any ability to resist?"

As she spoke, Xu Xinchen turned around and showed Sister Hua the ropes binding her: "With ropes so tight, even if I wanted to run away, I couldn't move my legs at all, so what are you worried about?"

When Sister Hua saw the rope that had already cut into Xu Xinchen's flesh, a smile finally appeared on her face, as if she was quite satisfied with the scene before her.

Sister Hua didn't offer any suggestions on how to make things easier for Xu Xinchen. She simply loosened her grip on Xu Xinchen's chin and said, "Since you know your current situation, I won't emphasize it too much. Just stay here obediently, and I'll have someone bring you some food."

As she spoke, Sister Hua stood up and walked outside in her high heels. Xu Xinchen sat on the ground watching Sister Hua's back, a hint of panic flashing in her eyes.

Not long after Sister Hua left, the friendly-looking man came in carrying a bowl of porridge. Xu Xinchen lowered her head.

I glanced at the contents of the porridge. I realized it was just a very ordinary bowl of lean meat porridge; there was nothing else in it besides the meat and porridge.

The man put down the still-steaming pork porridge, stood up, and was about to walk outside when Xu Xinchen frowned and called out to him, "Wait a minute."

The man turned around, his expression extremely impatient: "What is it? If you have something to say, say it quickly, I'm leaving."

Xu Xinchen moved her hand, gesturing for the man to look at her wrist. Upon seeing Xu Xinchen's gesture, the man indeed looked down at her wrist.

When he looked up again, the man's eyes were wary: "What do you want to do?"

Seeing the man's reaction, Xu Xinchen felt helpless. She sighed softly and said, "Look how tightly the rope is tied around my hands. I can't even move. How am I supposed to eat?"

As she spoke, Xu Xinchen leaned forward, pretending to pick up the bowl of porridge. However, when her hand touched the porridge, she couldn't lift it at all. Instead, she pushed the bowl of porridge even further away.

The man saw Xu Xinchen's actions, and the wariness in his eyes disappeared, but his expression looked troubled: "I can't help it like this. I can't let go of you. What if you take the opportunity to run away?"

Xu Xinchen's brow twitched slightly: "What are you thinking? There's nothing here except a window and a door. You guys are guarding the door. I thought you'd let me in here. This building must be pretty tall. Do you think I'd risk my life by jumping out of this window?"

The man frowned slightly, and after thinking for a while, he still couldn't make up his mind.

Seeing this, Xu Xinchen simply increased the dosage: "Look at this window, you've locked this whole window."

"Even if I wanted to run, I couldn't escape. Or do you think that once you let go of my hand, I can rush out the door and take down you and your accomplices?"

Upon hearing Xu Xinchen's words, the man's expression finally softened. He started walking towards Xu Xinchen, saying as he went.

"Don't blame me for not warning you. I let you go just so you can eat properly. If you're delusional enough to think you can make other demands after I let you go, don't blame me for being rude to you."

After listening to the man's words, Xu Xinchen nodded vigorously: "I know you are all very impartial and incorruptible, I'm not that unreasonable."

As soon as he finished speaking, the man untied the rope around Xu Xinchen's wrist. She moved her wrist, and blood gushed out as she moved.

The man looked at the wound on Xu Xinchen's hand, his brows furrowed tightly. He took a few steps back in disgust, his tone full of displeasure: "Put your hand down, don't let that blood splatter on the floor, it's filthy."
