Chapter 143: They're all pitiful people.

"Xiaoyu, come drink with me. That Fourth Brother is a scoundrel. He won't drink with me. Come on, you drink with me!" Zhou Yue poured a glass of wine in a crooked manner and raised her hand to bring it to Qin Xiaoyu's lips. Before it even reached her mouth, half of the wine spilled onto Qin Xiaoyu.

"Is this my fault? You told me to entertain her. When she arrived, I told the waiters to bring her whatever she wanted. Those brainless people just brought her drinks. She got drunk and started singing and making a scene, so the waiters got scared and called me over." Qi Si was extremely aggrieved.

"You're such a worry!" Qin Xiaoyu stomped her foot and glared at them both. Qi Si's wounded expression was nowhere to be seen, but Zhou Yue didn't care about that and was still asking for a drink.

"Sister Xiaoyue, come on, let's find a place to sleep for a while."

"I'm not sleeping! What's there to sleep about!" Zhou Yue angrily flung her hand away. Qin Xiaoyu was no match for her strength and was thrown out. There were chairs all around, and if Qi Si hadn't caught her in time, she would have definitely gotten several bruises.

"Sister Xiaoyue! If you keep doing this, I'll call your mother!" Qin Xiaoyu was really anxious. This sentence worked. It was like a spell. Zhou Yue immediately cowered, slumped into a chair, downed another glass of wine, and plopped down on the table. The cups and saucers were knocked over and rolled off the table.

Qi Si and Qin Xiaoyu breathed a sigh of relief.

The waiters nearby, seeing the expressions on the two people's faces, dared not move.

"Just find a place for her to sleep. My place won't do; there are so many people coming and going, who knows if someone will gossip and tell her mother?" Qin Xiaoyu rejected the beauty school idea first.

"I don't have anywhere else. How about I sleep here?" Qi Si asked in a low voice.

"How can I sleep here!" Qin Xiaoyu was furious, and her words silenced Qi Si.

"Then I'll go out and find a guesthouse or something."

"What are you looking for? Go, I'll carry you to your room!" Qin Xiaoyu glared at her again.

"My house won't do," Qi Si refused decisively.

"What's wrong with that? If you can sleep with someone, others can too!" Qin Xiaoyu didn't care about any of that. She pulled Qi Si over and pointed at Zhou Yue, saying, "Hold her."

"Why me? There are other people here!" Qi Si blinked a few times, looking aggrieved.

"They can't carry him, you do it!" Qin Xiaoyu was really angry when she saw that he was all muscle and not at all nimble, so she raised her hand and pinched his arm.

"Ouch! I'll carry you, don't pinch me!" Qi Si gave in, picked up Zhou Yue and ran downstairs. He was afraid of being seen and losing face, so he ran faster than a rabbit.

Qin Xiaoyu immediately noticed a bag under the table. It seemed Zhou Yue had come drinking without even going home after getting off the train; this was bad news. She told the waiter to take the bag and chased after Qi Si downstairs.

Qi Si built himself a small house in the backyard, with only one bedroom and one bathroom.

He had already carried Zhou Yue into the house, and was having an internal struggle as he looked at the bed and sofa.

"Put her on the bed, what are you looking at?" Qin Xiaoyu's accent changed with anger. Qi Si reluctantly put Zhou Yue on the bed.

Will she throw up?

"Brother, you're not a pretentious person, are you? You've never thrown up after drinking, how can you still have the nerve to complain about others?" Qin Xiaoyu was so angry she laughed, and the two waiters covered their mouths and turned their faces away.

"Go, get out of here!" Qi Si hurriedly went over and shooed them away.

"Hey girl, can you please stop yelling at me like that in the future?" Qi Si said with a worried look on his face.

"No!" Qin Xiaoyu exclaimed, her eyes wide.

"Okay, no way. But at least give me some face in front of others." Qi Si was so aggrieved that tears were almost coming out.

"What kind of noodles do you want! You're my brother, if I don't yell at you, who else am I supposed to yell at!" Qin Xiaoyu glared at him again.

"Okay, I owe you, I owe you from my past life, whatever you say is right." Qi Si cleared his mind and felt much better.

Zhou Yue reeked of alcohol and was fast asleep. Qin Xiaoyu went to the bathroom, fetched a basin of water, and wiped her face. She noticed that Zhou Yue's clothes were a bit tight, perhaps because she had gained weight again; they were so tight that it was hard for her to breathe.

"What an idiot! Why wear long sleeves in this heat!" Qin Xiaoyu muttered angrily, unbuttoning Zhou Yue's cuffs and rolling up one sleeve.

The higher she rolled up her sleeves, the more her heart pounded. What were all these things?

Zhou Yue's arms were covered in bruises, which were quite noticeable given her fair skin.

"Brother, doesn't this look like a fall?" Qin Xiaoyu turned around for help.

"He was beaten." Qi Si has absolute authority when it comes to examining injuries.

"Who dares to hit her?" Qin Xiaoyu said, then suddenly understood, felt a pang of sadness, and tears welled up in her eyes.

"Was it her husband who hit her? He's got guts; he dared to hit Commander Zhou's precious daughter."

"Poor Xiaoyue." Qin Xiaoyu wiped her arm with a warm towel, then lowered her sleeve and tied it back up as before.

This matter cannot be left unresolved, but we must not provoke Zhou Yue for the time being, and we must also consider her self-esteem.

"I hate men hitting women the most. Should I find someone to vent my anger?" Qi Si said bitterly.

"No need yet, let me find out the situation first." Qin Xiaoyu had made up her mind; she was determined to see Zhou Yue's matter through to the end.

She decided to stay with Zhou Yue and ask her questions slowly when she woke up.

"There's a phone at the front desk. Ask for Principal Qin," the waiter said timidly at the door.

"Okay, I'll answer the phone. You look after her, bro."

"Don't look for me, I can't take care of you!" Qi Si turned and ran away.

"Stop! Come back!" Qin Xiaoyu shouted, and Qi Si didn't dare to step out the door.

"I really can't take care of her, girl, please spare me."

"There's nothing I can't take care of. You'll take care of her the same way you took care of me!" Qin Xiaoyu knew the call was urgent, so she didn't care about anything else.

"That's different!"

"What's the difference? They're all the same!" When Qin Xiaoyu gets angry, she's like a little tiger. Her roar isn't loud, and her voice is soft and gentle, but it carries an inherent authority.

Qi Si had no choice but to accept it, as there was nothing he could do about her.

"Xiaoyu." It was Zhou Xing's voice on the other end of the phone. Qin Xiaoyu was stunned for a moment, and tears streamed down her face.

Why did you leave without saying goodbye?

"It's too late. Be a good girl and wait for me at home." Zhou Xing's voice seemed to come from a very far place, and it sounded somewhat unfamiliar.

"Come back soon, I'm waiting for you." Qin Xiaoyu suddenly understood why some people make vows and promise to last forever. Now she had fallen into the same old trap; she wanted everything.

"If anything happens, you handle it as you see fit, I'll support you," Zhou Xing instructed with concern.

"Don't worry, I promised you, and nothing will change..."

He heard a whistle for assembly coming from the other end of the phone, and someone was calling Zhou Xing's name. He steeled himself and hung up.

Qin Xiaoyu was reluctant to hang up, as if this disconnection meant they would be worlds apart. She held the receiver intently, hoping that Zhou Xing's voice would still be coming through.
